- Super fan Mike (and good friend) thinks that he's ready to take on a historical receipt for himself. After years of watching Justine cook in the hearth Mike is ready to do his first EVER hearth cooking challenge. Justine has picked out an easy one for him. White pot, a dessert that was popular from the 17th century. How will he do? Will the pressure get to him?

This man dances to the beat of his own drum. EXPLAIN YO'SELF SIR. Why are we pre-cooking the cream? One egg yolk? Why the multiple bread layers? Are we looking at the same receipt? We must give you an A+ for your creativity alone. You're so creative that you invented a whole new recipe.
Um...spoiler alert?
And the beat goes on................
Love it❤
Hi everyone, I am the Mike from the video, I heated the cream to dissolve the sugar and the nutmeg properly. I added an egg yolk only because I wanted the richness because I didn't have vanilla to use without adding more liquid. The multiple layers of bread were to hold the layers of raisins throughout the dish. I hope everyone enjoyed the video! I did the best job I could do to entertain yall! God bless you!
That's what I tend to do with recipes, put my own spin on it!! 😂 As long as it tastes good why complain!!😂😂😂
Thank you Michael for living out our dreams of cooking with Justine.
Thank you for watching! It was always a dream of mine as well!
Did I miss the adding of the nutmeg?
@@user-zp8mw4dz1n I was a wondering what happened to the nutmeg also.
It was so chaotic, he forgot the nutmeg. @@user-zp8mw4dz1n
YES❤❤
My wife usually comments, but this is Mark. This is the best, cutest, funniest. most entertaining episode you two have done in awhile. We watch each & every episode, the cooking and the eatin'. Your friend Mike is a true gem. Genuine with a dash of self deprecating humor in Justine's presence and in her kitchen !! The undertone of tension between you three was absolutely adorable, especially with Ron as film director and peanut-gallery chef advisor. Please, please do more episodes with Mike as guest. Thanks guys.
Congratulations Mike. If Ron's going in for seconds, you know it's gotta be good.
Thank you Mark! 😊
lol minus all the times he says he doesn’t like something but then practically eats it all? 😂 Mike it does look good. My grandma used to make bread pudding growing up and it was always my favorite! You made me miss hers and of course
I miss my grandma. 😊
Oh by the way when Ron poked his head out from under the table I just about lost it that was hysterical!
I enjoyed the little humor of Mike's impromptu break, and with Ron sneaking in under the table! I found myself laughing several times with the playfulness between y'all.
Justine: I am not helping him. 😊
Also Justine: *proceeded to question life and helps him* 😂
Ron & Justine, I received your Christmas card today, Thank you so much!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!! i also love the detail of the stamp!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you for taking the time to create it and send it to me. Patty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤💕💕💖💖🥰🥰😊😊
22:37 Hilarious part 😂 Michael seems like a genuinely funny man. It'd be cool to see him on the channel again.
This episode is so charming & hilarious! Ask Mike if he's looking for an mail-order bride. I'd be glad to volunteer!! 😂❤
For the first time, I am impressed with Michael's pudding. I also enjoyed watching Justine's and Ron's reactions. 😂
Even if Michael made some mistakes it was still fun to watch. Haven't we all missed a step or two in a recipe we are trying for the first time? I saw Justine's cooking video before this one and saw right off the bat that the cream was put into the bowl without the eggs. I thought, "Oh, oh." But he tried his best, in front of the WHOLE world, and did pretty good---for a man, lol. What a brave soul. It's fun and different to have a fan try the cooking challenge. Please, let's have more of these. This was very entertaining and educational because we ALL learn something in the kitchen, no matter what era. Somehow, I feel like I'm watching the 19th century version of Julia Chid. Good job and thanks, guys.
Yes 19th century version of Julia Child exactly!!!!!
Thank you for watching! This was so much fun to film! The whole game changes when the camera starts rolling lol!
@@michaelgiurintano3107Michael you are so so cool! I love when you’re in the videos! Too fun! Your mom seems awesome as well!
I love this! When Ron's head popped up from behind the table, I lost it.
Thanks, Justine, Ron & Mike. What an entertaining episode!
Thank you for watching!
That was a fun video! Mike should definitely do this again!
I'm looking forward to seeing today's episode of 19th century Iron Chef! 😆 This has been a bit of a rough week for me so far and I unfortunately have a feeling that it's only going to get tougher over the next few days, so it's going to be nice having something to look forward to later today. Thank you both for everything you do! Mike, I wish you the best of luck, sir! 👍
Thank you Allen!
0:56 This entrance says it all!😂
@@michaelgiurintano3107 Of course! ☺️
@@user-uw3qi8wv2v Hahaha that entrance was the stuff of legends. 😆
This is SO hilarious. I love the intro part. This is such a treat!!!

Well, they say everybody loves a train wreck, and this truly was one! I was waiting for your friend/fan to loose his pants as they were sagging quite a lot! Fun to watch, good job!
Love Wednesdays because you guys are here ❤ 🇺🇸
Since starting a new job my life is hectic and crazy but watching your both channels brings me so much happiness. You guys are the best! Awesome job Michael, that couldn't of been easy. Very entertaining 😂 Loved it!
Hello, Justine, Ron and Michael! So much fun this week. Loved the pop up Rons everywhere. Too funny. Be careful and be blessed this week all! xoxo
Thank you for this episode Ron and Justine and your friend Mike who cooked today. The pudding turned to be good. He passed the challenge.
Thank you for watching with us!
Good Job Mike!
Thank you so much 🙂🙂
Iron chef 1700's style. I love it . I think you need to host an annual competition. To raise money for your museum.
I really enjoyed tonight’s show ❤
Thank you for watching!
It’s Wednesday my favourite day of the week
Looking forward to seeing you guys 🙏🙏❤️
Michael did a fine job for cooking over a fire the first time! Fun episode!
This was great, I really enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the next episode! Good job Mike!
Thank you for watching and your kind words! God bless!
This was absolutely delightful in every way! So danged cute!
Other than forgetting about the nutmeg I think Michael was pretty successful. Not bad at all for his first time hearth cooking! Good job sir!
Michael is hilarious and such a good sport .
Looking forward to the video tonight!
So fun!! I am so jealous of Michael for getting to cook in the Ye Olde Kitchen with Miss Justine. I hope it was as fun as it looks like it was.
Oh how awesome is this a break from Cooking Justine!
It felt great 😅
Go, Mike go!
This was gr8. Justine showed alot of patience letting a man cook in her kitchen. Very creative vid thanks
Great attempt Michael 😊..might of been jiggley but as long as it tasted good🙂..was hoping for a cameo of Mish Mish but I guess he just was feeling it today 😃(as a owner of black cats,it always puts a smile on my face to see him)..hope y'all have a great rest of the week..❤ sent y'all's way from North Carolina 😊
❤Adorable ! Episode is the funniest. This is the best trio !
That was so much fun! Such a sweet guy. You all really enjoy life! Love you all!❤❤❤
You should have more friends at the table, it's fun!
I agree!!!
Love that Justine didn’t remind him of the nutmeg. 😂😂.
Hope everyone is warm and cozy. This time of year would be perfect for cooking on the hearth. I have learned a lot about open hearth cooking from Justine. When I visit flea markets and vintage shops I am looking for equipment. Love you guys.
Michael gets an A plus for effort! Yes, bring Michael in once in a while to do some receipts to try out!
Fun…Food…Friendship…CHEERS!
Mike did so well! ❤
Thank you!! 😊
I watched your musket shooting vid. Great stuff brother. Bet it’s nice to get a day off cooking.
thankyou!
Thank you Michael, loved your prayer. Safe travels.
I love your channel. It's a real blessing to be able to escape back to our history. Love your guest and the fun back and forth between the FRONTIER PATRIOTs and their friend. Thanks for helping us get through difficult times.
It’s wonderful to see you guys grow and change and experience new things. Awesome job guys.
Michael is so sweet and funny. My husband’s grandmother cooked her raisins in a little orange juice and added some grated orange rind to the recipe.
My grandma cooked her raisins in a little water and marmalade. Same concept. She lived alone, and marmalade was always on her table. So I guess it just made sense.
Love the video ;Michael is so funny in his own way ,it was really entertaining and pleasant to watch,God Bless you all 🤍
You guys should be on the Food Network!
Michael you did great! Doing is so much harder than watching. AND you had to talk to the audience meanwhile! I’m going to try this recipe (sans brandy). Lol. I love watching you guys cook/bake and then eat and critique. I don’t know half of what the receipts mean, i.e. crumb.
Yes don't forget to remove the crust lol! Thanks for watching! It's a whole different world that's for sure!
Great video!!!!! I love the concept of inviting your most loyal fans to join in the fun!
That beginning when he came in the door was epic! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Does Mike cook professionally (or ever)?
That was the greatest idea for an episode 👏
Pretty funny 😂😂
I love to cook! I don't cook professionally, but I am very dedicated to smoking meat. So Justine knew just where to hit me. With a pudding! She knew I'd be completely out to lunch lol! It was a great time we had so many laughs making this. Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching and God bless!
@@michaelgiurintano3107 ooooo smoked meat...my favorite! Hope to see you again on their channel 🙂
My son in law made something similar last Christmas morning but he didn't use bread, just flour...and he called it Puffy Pancake. Something his Ohio German mom used to make, he said. He cooked it in an iron skillet with lid. This was fun! So glad to discover you!
Oh my goodness...this was so entertaining! Your guest is a good actor and so funny! 🤣...and Ron snoopn around lookn for mistakes cracked me up 😅. Good video guys!! 👏👏
Michael you have done will with the receipt of White Pot ! Mike it was comical Mike taking a smoke break ! You guys were comical. David Back Rebecca Back.I would like to see more of Michael on this show.
What a sweet young man💛💛💛
Such a Wonderful Visit Between Friends & a Fun Episode Justine; Ron & Mike! 😊
Mike seems so so so cool! What an amazing thing to come out of crazy TH-cam! An amazing friendship!
Mike loves this post! Thank you and it's so true!
13:11 just realized the all blue outfits! I bet it was by accident but makes this so pretty 😂
Totally accidental lol
I just watched Townsends, and he made this the exact same way, right down to the extra yolk and heating the cream which he then let cool down. Also, I thought the sugar on top would not taste/feel very good, but apparently, that's what you guys really liked. So congrats!
Justine says she's not going to help at all and instantly began helping 😂
Hi Michael! You did a wonderful job, especially for a first attempt. Justine sure makes cooking over a hearth look easy. I enjoyed watching this. Your positivity, creativity, and humor were great! Opa! Haha
Michael you did fabulous !!! Great TV presence!!!!! Justine, your looks just cracked me up!!! I loved watching you all!!!! I think you should have Michael back occasionally! Great job!!!!!
Well, the one thing that you can't say this was not custard's. Last stand. Laugh out loud great job though everybody love you guys
Really enjoyed your guest star. Seems like a great friend and a real cutie
Bet Justine would save that raisin juice for something and make stuffing with the crust she never wasted anything ! Mike come
back Maybe help with thanksgiving
Thoroughly enjoyed this episodes. Felt like a ride with twist n turns 🤣🤣🤣 God bless Mike !
❤ God bless you as well for watching!! This was so fun to film!!
Good job Michael!
I made this after watching your video Justine! Of course not in a hearth, but it turned out so good! Didn’t burn the raisins either. Better than regular bread pudding and no water bath to deal with.
I’m tempted too!
Hi Mike, nice to see you again! Regards, Rick
Hi Rick! Thanks for watching! This was such a fun video!
Please do more videos this like? You cooking over the hearth is unmatched. But it's so cool seeing fan celeb type interaction 😉🫶
This was so much fun! Love it when you have visitors. Great job, Michael!
Cooking is definitely a learning curve. Cooking over an open fire and hearth cooking for sure take some learning. Bread pudding, Cajun bread pudding, has the day old french bread with crust that is soaked for at minimum 1 hour in scalded cream that is then used to temper the eggs (4 to be exact) that were beat with the sugar, and spices. Vanilla essence is added at the last before poured over the bread and raisins. While the warm cream is soaking into the bread, it is allowed to plump the raisins. Before baking, pads of butter are placed on top of the pudding before it is baked in a moderate oven (350). It truly is a simple recipe. It doesn't really matter how you make it. Recipes are a basic guideline anyways. You're not ever going to make the same recipe every single time unless you weigh your ingredients each time and bake your recipe in the same oven every single time for the same amount of time. I think for his first time hearth cooking, your friend did extremely well. I took to it like a duck to water but I have been cooking over an open fire, stove top baking and primitive living/ cooking for a great while. It just came natural to me one day like I'd been doing it my entire life. Great job guys and I do like these friend visits where Justine is the teacher and Mr. & Mrs. Ron Rayfield (to be) are the spectators and recipients of delectables.
It was genuine. Feel like this could be replicated and perhaps customized for individual tastes
So fun!!!! Jealous of the snow ❄️☃️
Lived mikhail, he's funny. It was fun watching. they had trial and error back in the we old days. You all done a great job. 👍 ❤
I love how you all had such a good time cooking this
I liked seeing one of your viewing friends try his hand at a historical recipe. This was a fun episode! Thanks again for the entertainment! Love you ‘guys!’ ❤
The quirkiness was strong with this one and I absolutely loved it!! Such a cute episode ❤
Great Job Mike!
What a fun episode! Loved every minute of it 💜
I always enjoy watching you Michael you were great! Lived in Paducah love Kentucky.
This was a fun episode. Loved watching Michael fumble his way thru the pudding process. He's a hoot! I am surprised it tasted good and was sweet enough. Very fun! 😂
It didn't really turn out like a bread pudding but it was sort of a custard and that works too. Why not right? He did a good job overall. And custard isn't easy to make so it's a win I think. This was so super fun and cute. The fire cooking alone would intimidate me, and I don't know how y'all do it. Bravo!
Michael did a great job! It really looked delicious! Great video!
Thank you!! 😊
Great job Michael!
❤❤ thank you for watching!
Would love to see more of Michael's cooking adventures. This was lots of fun!
This was fun! Also, Ron was a hoot in his observing. The peek from under the table was 😂
Wow!!This was fun today with the guest cook!! The pudding looks amazing!!👍👍
You guys are the best. i look forward to your show every week. Thank you so much for your brand of entertainment.
Thankyou so much! Our pleasure!
What happened to the nutmeg?
My mom never boiled the raisins....great tip. Made my day
Oh gods, the look on your face as he was adding more bread! Like "oh no, this is gonna be a disaster!" 😂
This is what TH-cam was made for. What a positively wild adventure. Thanks for sharing it
