They are both well known for their TH-cam channels, "Early America" and "Frontier Patriot". After the wedding, Ron and Justine take them on a tour of Fort de Chartres. They also visit Ron's father, Rich Rayfield, on his horse farm and Ronnie and Peter go on a trail ride.
Throughout the video, viewers are treated to a blend of historical narratives and personal experiences, culminating in the charming 18th-century wedding celebration. Peter's enthusiasm for history and his knack for storytelling bring the past to life, making this a captivating watch for history buffs and casual viewers alike. My dad proposed to my mom in St Gen 54 years ago, and they’re still happily married. I wish Justine and Ronnie all the same happiness and longevity.
What a great story and I too wish Justine and Ron a similar life together.
I proposed to my wife 54 years ago, too. We have been married 53 years. We have two beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren, who my wife spoils. Both of our girls are college graduates and work for school systems, one in KY and the other in GA.
Life was harder in the 1800's but it was simpler and joy could be found in that simplicity. We all need more of the 1800's in our lives!
Hear, hear!
We need more of the 1600’s where my ancestor said “If you don’t work, you don’t eat!”
Three of the most charming folks on TH-cam...you, Ron & Justine.
Oh my, suck kind words, thank you.
I got to thinking when I saw your ring that rings were traditionally worn on the right hand. The only reason I know that is that my daughter was a Grip for a period film and the wedding ring was on the right hand for the actress as it was true to the history back in the early 1800's. Our family has been extras in several period pieces as we lived close to a village that Hollywood liked to use. It's called, Mumford Museum in Genesee County, New York. I remember having my hair basted with whipped egg whites as that was what used to keep ladies hair in place before hairspray. Well, it was a hot day and the egg whites cooked in my hair so I had little white flakes throughout my head. But, it worked better than hairspray. My hair didn't move all day. Congratulations you two. I wish you many happy years together.
What a grand story, thank you so much for sharing.
My husband and I visited the museum last summer. What a wonderful place! We really enjoyed it. We live outside of Canandaigua NY
The best co lab between two great 18th century youtube channels
I thank you, glad you enjoyed.
Congrats Ron and Justine, I'm sure the wedding was beautiful. All the best to the newly married happy couple, may God bless you both.
It was indeed a fabulous ceremony and we were flattered to have been invited.
What a wonderful time it was for me to sit here and watch my favorite reenactors altogether. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Best Crossover EVER!
Thank you!
Ron built a bread oven the perfect size for the 2 of them. It’s very well done.
He’s a pretty handy guy to have around. Their new home is coming along and looks amazing.
LOVELY COUPLE and LOVELY COUPLE! How Wonderful to experience the pure 'Joy' of an 'uncomplicated' Wedding! = R A R E !!! Simple is the 'way-to-go! I am sure that many who see this vid will also be longing for this kind of life. Congratulations to Ronnie and Justine. The Emperor and Empress of Canada were a fine representation of Northern charm = WELL DONE Peter and Catherine. Thanks for sharing this journey with us! "A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." (Mignon McLaughlin). Health n' blessings dear ones! :)
You flatter us, Marie. Although we are a long way apart I believe we’ll remain life long friends. It was a rare opportunity to truly experience an 18th century wedding, I can’t imagine we’ll have too many in the future, lol!
Very well said, and I couldn't agree with you more! :)
Congratulations to Justine & Ronnie! What a unique and beautiful wedding. Here’s to many many years together! Some advice to Ronnie, it doesn’t matter if it’s 1770 or 2030, it’s always “yes dear, you are right” 😃❤
It was a wonderful experience.
Good Peter & Lady Cathy- I had the pleasure & privilege of attending this wonderful wedding, & making your delightful acquaintance! I've been one of your subscribers ever since Ron & Justine alerted us to your channel. ( I was the lady who initially hailed y'all on the street upon first arrival & pointed you in the right direction to the film crew! ) I have several excellent photos of you at the wedding. Live long & prosper, my fellow travelers! (Mistress Kerri of Making Merry in the red outfit... from NJ.) 😊
I remember you well Kerri and it was our pleasure to meet you.
Justine and Ron thank you for sharing just enough of your wedding with us to make us smile but avoiding "wall to wall coverage
of what I believe should be a more personal and sacred event. And having Mr. Woodland Escape give us our history fix to tide us over till next week. Congratulations.
I thank you for the kind words.
There's an annual Fort Vallonia Days festival in October every year in Indiana , congratulations to the newlyweds, I follow them as well, thank you for sharing
I wish I had the time to visit every host site of that era … I’m working on it, lol. Thanks so much for your interest.
I had the great honor of attending this marvelous wedding! The dancing was so grand (5:00)! Watching this memory was like reliving it again! Thank you for sharing it! What fun we had! It was very nice to meet you also, and I enjoy watching you make things!
It was certainly one for the memory book, can’t imagine I’ve too many more 18th century weddings in my future.
I was there too! It was so special!!❤
Great! Two of my favorite channels in one. Thanks
Wow, thanks!
What a beautiful wedding couple! Wishing them every happiness and long life together. The historical buildings and scenery are beautiful to look at. Thanks for posting.
It was a fabulous experience in all aspects for Cathy and I.
Astounding, lovely, what a dream in real time. In Joy
Congratulations Ronnie and Justine. May you have a long and happy life together. So happy to see brother Peter and SIL Cathy in their go-to-wedding garb. Love you, sister Pat.
A lot of folks commented on how I scrub up well, lol.
Great video with history and beautiful people!! Thank you so much for sharing a few days with your friends from Ste. Genevieve Missouri.
It was indeed our pleasure, Rich!
I'm honored to be able to see both channels of shows I love ❤
Ron and Justine are such a cute couple. Interesting giggle while holding the hanger! I am guessing it was accompanied by an idea for a project!
They do make a grand couple indeed!
What a wonderful adventure, and even more wonderful occasion to travel! Weddings are a beacon of hope for us all in this day and age, and the happy couple seems so very much in love. It does a heart a whole lot of good to see it.
The fort looks wonderfully preserved, and I'm sad to say I'd only heard of Fort de Chartres once. Seeing the construction, I'm tempted to visit. I'll not be able to make the June festivities, but it may be a bucket list item for me when I get my Feast of the Hunter's Moon outfit completed. One place you'd likely enjoy would be the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, FL. I've been there and it is a wonder.
I agree with Justine in your vitality for your years. I turn 60 this year, and with my past labors, my knees, back, hips, etc. all scream at me if I push too much, or very much at all lol. I wish more vigor and happy exertion for you, and many more happy years together with Cathy as well.
Thank you for the kind words. It is a beacon of hope in our crazy world. As to the vigor, well at least when the camera is on me, lol.
The dogs in the meadow running with the two of you on horseback was hilarious because they kept jumping up in the grass to see where they were going and then running again for a bit in the grass where we couldn't see them. 😊
It was indeed hilarious to watch them.
Best of luck to Justine and Ronnie. Safe travels to Peter and Cathy. Another fine video.
Thank you sir.
Come to The Great Rendevous at Old Fort William in Thunder Bay. Every July, the Northwest Fur trading Company partners from Montreal meet the regional forts nat the half-way point. Furs are heading to Montreal and trade goods are going to the interior. Lots of re-enactors and a native encampment. The gentlemen who own the Company have meetings in their top hats and fine clothes.. the date is 1815.
I’d love to get to that event, perhaps next year.
TFS this special wedding day with us, along with a bit of history.
It is our pleasure and was indeed a wonderful experience.
Another wonderful journey. Congratulations to the bride and groom and may they have many joyful years together. Thank you, Mr. Peter and Ms. Cathy for taking us along.
Our pleasure!
Wow, this was a delightful treat 🫶🏼💕
So glad!
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of their wedding! So happy that you made it! Not to mention how you were looking rather dapper Mr. Pete! Take care...Robin
Wow, diaper and mister referring to me in one sentence, that’s a first. A lovely comment and I thank you.
It looked like a wonderful time, and it was great seeing the wonderful people from 2 great channels get together! Thanks for letting us tag along.
We had a blast with Justine and a Ronnie and now count them as true friends!
Its so awesome you and your wife got to go down to see Ron and Justin get married I watch them too
We were flattered to be invited and had a great time.
Thanks so much for the video. I love Justine and Ron, I've been watching them for 3 years and am so glad they are finally united in holy wedlock!🥳💞 Looks like everyone had a grand tour and a wonderful wedding day. The horses are beautiful, the woman are lovely, the sites and the history superb!! Safe travels, from a Kentucky friend.
Our pleasure! We sure nailed everything with your fine comments.
What a great video. I think historical weddings are wonderful. My wife and I had a traditional Jacobite wedding at a Living History event here in Michigan and recently celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Looking forward to more of your great videos.
That would be something to see, I hope you recorded it!
How fortunate you are to be able to attend their wedding. Your channel and their's are the main historic channels I watch.
I’m flattered as I’m sure Justine and Ronnie are!
That was indeed a day to remember. Missouri would love to have you back as many times as you can. Tomorrow, I head to Fort de Chartres . You and Cathy are so gracious, and I was so pleased to spend that day with Justine, Ron, and you both. Blessings.
I hope you have a wonderful event, wish we were there.
They have a great channel! Its great to see so much good content out there on this time period.
Couldn't agree more! They are keeping history alive.
Congratulation Ronnie & Justine and you’re amazing friends for sharing this beautiful wedding and friendships.❤God Bless
Thank you so much 😀, they are an amazing couple that we’re proud to call friends.
Congratulation's Justine and Ronnie, and wow what a shin-dig that wedding must have been,, those are some very beautiful fort's as well what a step back into our great north American Canadian French Indian history, thanks Peter and Cathy for bringing us along on your trip to the the mid-west
You’re quite welcome, I’m sure it won’t be our last.
Congratulations again to Justine and Ron! Best wishes for many, many years of happiness! I must say those are beautiful horses you rode at the beginning, absolutely gorgeous.
The wedding, people, horses and more made for an amazing road trip!
Lovely video! Thank you for sharing Ron and Justine's wedding with us, along with the beauty of Missouri.
Our pleasure, it was an absolutely amazing experience.
Congratulations to the happy couple .
I always wondered if you were acquainted with Justine and Ron!! I have been a follower of their channel for many years now. This was a very nice video you made about where they live and their wedding. Blessings.
We are lucky indeed to call them our friends.
My late husband and I visited Ste. Genevieve in 2009. My maiden name was Bolduc and I have traced the Bolduc lineage from France (1500’s) to Quebec and down to Ste Genevieve in the 1700’s. Louis Bolduc of the Bolduc House would have been one of my great uncles. I would love to pay another visit to this charming town.
@@sandym.430 wow, I’m a wee bit envious of your knowledge of your family history, thanks for sharing.
Very nice video! It's good to be reminded that history is more than just fighting and bloodshed, but also marriages and children and getting on with life.
Absolutely!
Simply lovely. Blessings to Justine & Ron.
It was a fantastic experience for Cathy and I. I’m sure their life together will be amazing.
My wife lived there before we met, we have since been back there, we live around 4 hrs from there.. very cool, welcome to Missouri!
Congratulations Justine and Ron! I wish you many happy years together!❤
love Ron & Justine. So happy to see part of their wedding.
Hard not to love those two!
What a special wonderful wedding. So glad u could cime down and be part of their joy and happiness. Be like me getting married at a river surounded by bunch of gold prospectors. Cause that is what i do for fun. Bon voyage.
It most certainly was grand!
The largest land purchase was Louisiana purchase. Lewis and Clark. I love Ron and Justine.
And at a bargain basement price, lol! And we’re with you on Justine and Ronnie!
That was a great video of two of my favorite couples, congrats Ronnie and Justine Rayfield!!
Thank you so much and I second your well wishes.
Belated Congratulations Mr & Mrs Rayfield best of all wishes for a loving future.
This was so interesting as well as fun seeing Ron and Justine….now as Mr. & Mrs. ❤
Indeed!
I appreciate the history. Not all "historic" you tube channels give a history of an area.
Thank you, we try to be as accurate as possible.
congrats to the wedding couple may it bring joy lots of laughs sad times turn into loving signs from eachother may god bless you "and kept you" safe be happy in everything no fighting with each other if you are just say sorry give hugs and kiss
Congratulations on your wedding! Man, that's a hot fiddler!😊
All of my favorite people in one video. I'm glad you all had a great time and were able to spend some time together. I loved this video.
Us too! They and their extended family were the most generous hosts.
There is a vertically log cabin in Dittmer MO, which is about 35+ miles northwest from St. Genevieve. I went to do an appraisal on the property for the seller. I was shocked and excited about seeing this structure in the middle of this rural area. Most of this area was settled by Germans Protestants around the 1840s. Parts of this structure were built before that period.
Interesting that they still used that technique that late. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my! Did i ever enjoy this! In KY i went to a lot of history reinactments and so miss them. Never saw a historic wedding though. 😮 Thanks so much for sharing. Hey, you looked good on the horse. I think youve ridden before. 😉
Glad you enjoyed it and that it brought back some fond memories. I grew up with horses, farmed with them for a few years and rode Civil War Cavalry for a number of years.
@@TheWoodlandEscape ahhh. That explains you looking so at ease and moving with the horse so well.
This is fantastic. Thank you all for sharing our nation’s history with the world.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your interest.
Congratulations! You look lovely! Lots of health, happiness, good livelihood, and long life!🖖👰🤵❤
I just lost my husband of 57 wonderful, happy and love filled years. I wish Justine and Ron the same. My husband was also a Ron.
Sorry to hear that, it must be very hard. I too wish Justine and Ronnie a long happy life as you’ve had.
Looks like a great place, great trip, and great event. I can’t imagine Cathy’s bread being any better but from a stone oven would be grand. Heading back to Canada this week. Wish me luck at the border. Lol. All the best to the two of you!
Always friendly on our side, lol. Safe journey.
what a great day!! Congratulations to the newly weds! Thanks so much for sharing! Looking forward to your next video!
Thanks for watching
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY United States of America everyone
Wow Peter ! No moss growing under your feet ,,fort building and fort touring and a grand wedding ! Lovely couple seen their channel before but they make me hungry watching ,hahah as she cooks up a storm .
Just realized, the one thing I didn’t experience on this trip was Justine’s cooking. I suspect she was a wee bit busy with a wedding to be cooking, lol.
Wishing all the joy possible and a happy life for Justine and Ronnie. Thanks for the tour. Definitly on my list to visit and speak a little Paw Paw French with Sainte-Geneviève folks!
I’d be happy to speak any of the French dialects, lol.
Thank you for posting! I just love Justine & Ron! I’ve been missing them while they’ve been on their honeymoon. So excited to watch!
Our pleasure. I’m sure the two of them will be back creating excellent content very soon.
Prayers for a Blessed ,Happy , long life and marriage !
May you always be successful, happy, abundant, fertile and prosperous!
So nice of you to say!
Thank you for this jaunt around the this historic places of my boyhood. I was @ the first Ft Descartes rendezvous as a wide eyed twelve year old. Has been my point of reference in my historical pursuits ever since even as I continue life out here in Idaho.
Glad it refreshed some of your childhood memories.
thank you for sharing your wonderful day
Glad you enjoyed it.
What a beautiful couple you guys make. Ron is so handsome in his wedding attire and Justine is so stunning in her dress and hairdo. What a memorable occasion, loaded with history. Congratulations, you two. We look forward to many more videos. Will Justine still make her meals in the cabin or in her new home? Hope we get a full tour of the home. And hope Mish Mish (sic?) is happy in his new home.
We agree!
I teared up a bit watching this.
That is a lovely compliment, thank you.
Absolutely adore the Rayfield’s. What a great colab!!! ❤
Hard not to adore those two!
What a wonderful video. What a beautiful place I felt like just watching I went back in time with you. You and Kathy looked stunning for the wedding.
Thank you so much! Some said that we cleaned up good!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the newlyweds
Enjoyed very much
Our pleasure and glad you enjoyed it.
What a wonderful journey and I’m so happy for Ron and Justine! I know Justine can teach you but I’d also be happy to share my experience baking in a horno oven. I did so for many years at the Mission San Juan Capistrano as part of the living history project.
I’d love to pick your brain. I’ve a lot of admiration for historical interpreters.
A wonderful trip good people and a good time.wish I could come and help with Kelly station but I live in Colorado a bit to Long of a drive.thanks for All you and Cathy do
All of the above … trip, people and time! You’re here in spirit!

Some people said that we scrubbed up better well, lol!
We follow them on early American and have met them at a craft fair in St genievive.. congratulations guys!
They are a great couple!
Congratulations to the both of you on your wedding, Here in Canada we have Fort George in Niagara on the Lake, a historical town, which is beautiful, if it like stepping back in time. It is beautiful, if you ever get a chance to come to Canada do go and see NOTL (Niagara On The Lake) and visit Fort George. We are also known for our wine country. Again Congrats to the both of you and many many happy years to come. Love from Canada
Fort George is a wonderful site as is Fort Erie and across the river Fort Niagara.
Hi Peter,
Watching this I realized . . . I know this girl from her own channel demonstrating period accurate cooking from those times. So wonderful that you and Kathy connected with this couple and shared in their special day! On an aside, as you were initially introducing this episode I noticed you were standing among a little stand of Paw-Paw trees. I don't imagine you have those back home.
We do have a very small area in Ontario, a point that juts out into Lake Erie which has Carolinian Forest. They certainly don’t grow as far north as we live. The only thing we didn’t get to do was sample Justine’s fine cooking.
Appreciate your efforts and dedication! Glad you have had the opportunity to travel and see the sights south of your border. What a wonderful couple. May they share a long and happy life together. Thanks again and keep your powder dry!
Thanks! 😃. I second your comment on a long and happy life. Watch yer top knot.
So Happy you could make that Happy Event! Thank you for sharing ❤❤🎉
As are we, glad you enjoyed it.
It was so nice to meet you at the wedding Peter!! You've got some great footage! Enjoying your channel very much!
And you sir and we thank you for the kind words.
Thanks for sharing this history. Congratulations to Ron and Justine
Glad you enjoyed it and congratulations indeed to a lovely couple.
Congratulations again Justine & Ron. Beautiful clips of your wedding, can only imagine how it must have been for those getting to experience it live. Think it would be wonderful to be able to do reenactment.
Much happiness on your new road together, enjoy your new home. Blessed Be always 🥰💜💜💜💐💐💐
They are simply put, a beautiful couple!
This is so wonderful...
I’m glad you enjoyed, it was a fascinating opportunity for Cathy and I to attend.

Thank our so much, we had a fantastic time with Justine and Ronnie.
Congratulations to the young couple!
Indeed … and such a lovely couple they make.
What an absolutely joyful video. It's great to see that the living history expands such a great distance overtrain and culture.
Thank you so much! We love to travel for historical content, but this wedding was the icing on the cake!
I'm always impressed with the history the architecture and old implements. I have been since childhood when I lived down the street from Vallejo's home in Sonoma CA.
You’re a man of my own heart!
It was a great event. So nice to meet you and Cathy! And nice dance moves by the way. Lol.
It was wonder meeting you as well Rob. Not so sure on the good dance moves, lol.
Thank you for sharing, Wonderful 😊
My pleasure 😊
What a fantastic opportunity!! God bless the newlyweds. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻
We agree and it was a fantastic opportunity.

Great history story! The old building s looks beautiful.God speed.David and Rebecca Back.
Thanks to you both for your interest.
My French ancestors migrated to Manikan Township, VA in 1700. Their name was Reneau, de Renauld in France. The Yankee line that moved into PA changed their name to Reno. I descend from the southern line, RENEAU.
Most of the French Protestants migrated elsewhere after the Edict of Nantes in 1685. This edict required all Frenchmen to be catholic, so the Protestants voted with their feet, as I have often done.
