Dave knows how much we all love this song, and he performed a perfect live rock song. It was released as a power rock song, which we all loved, but he's also played it tender as acoustic&voice only. He starts playing it tender and we all hear the lyrics perfectly, and also teasing with a few surging strums of the electric guitar, but no, each time he settles his lyrical and guitar delivery down again to understated but meaningful. And then for 38 seconds he waits, silent, watching, is it over? Then poses legs wide teasing, that he's about to strum the guitar, and everyone is saying, please, Dave, give us more! And then he smashes a strum, runs back and the band lights up for the finale. We know he's the creator, vocalist, and bandmaster and in that moment the audience is treated to a unique rendition from the same virtuoso who created it - which lends so much to the authenticity and experience compared to a band who's just recreating the studio original.
When the band joins Dave at the end of the song, and Dave runs towards them, he goes straight to Taylor... You could see and feel in every song and in every interview how close they were and i can only imagine how much Dave is suffering now...

I came to Everlong via Nandi Bushell and Rick Astley's versions so it's always been the live cuts that have drawn me in, not the studio version. This is 5 minutes of music from the Gods. So sad. I’m supposed to see them this summer. Was really looking forward to seeing him perform in person. Such a talent and from what seemed like an amazing human being.
I remember, I was almost 11 years old laying down in bed trying to fall asleep while simultaneously using my new favorite app called TH-cam. I stumbled upon this very song. The moment when you hear the crowd sing the song back to him and the build-up at the end, good Lord , it sent shivers down my spine. At that very moment my love for music solidified.
This is why Kurt killed himself, because people like you worshiping singers, seeing them as gods, putting them on a pedestal when they’re human just like you. People like you are the type to not better you life and worship someone else’s.
I had no interest in this song for 20 years…….then I turned 30. Now it’s one of my favorite songs on earth and brings me right back to my childhood in seconds. This song has delivered on every level it promised since it was written.
That must have been the perfect release of emotion and to truly connect with the spirit of his father in the most honest and raw tribute a son could give to a father 👏🏼👏🏼
This gives me chills and honestly brings tears to my eyes, every single time I watch or hear this version. I grew up in the 90's, so when I heard this song for the first time on the radio/MTV it changed my life and I connected to it on such a personal level. This was the first song to ever make me feel or experience that, and instantly became my absolute favorite song. So to see and hear so many other people singing this back, feeling it, responding back to Dave and the entire band the way that they do. I mean...how can you help but not feel those rush of feelings, those waves of emotions, and all the chills or tears of joy that come along with it?!? Just like I always do and I always will. Every time I hear it, it's like hearing it for the very first time, all over and over again. *Well Done Gentlemen, Well Done*
I love this song. Both the studio original and the acoustic version off Howard Stern. This is like the perfect Mash up of the two versions. But I decided to comment here because I feel the exact same way about Tool. Changed my life, and had a greater influence on who I am than any other single thing in my life. Music is more than just sounds. It's almost magic. It touches people in a way that few other things can. It brings back forgotten memories and can transport you back into your own past, which changing your future. It's taken many years for my to stop being so dismissive of 'shite' music. Talent is talent, and where as it might not always be my 'thing', I'm learning that music has an ineffable quality few other things do, no matter the style. Pop, rock, R&B, hip hop, opera... The talent shines through from the true masters, and it makes me feel humble. I'm glad Foo Fighters and Rush changed your lives.
I’m born in 97s i have 27 years old and i found this song like 2 years before and this is one of the best sounds of rock 90/2000 what i heard when go to the war with myself exercise. I love the work team engineer behind those guitars. The sound is fckn awesome!

I came to Everlong via Nandi Bushell and Rick Astley's versions so it's always been the live cuts that have drawn me in, not the studio version. This is 5 minutes of music from the Gods. Sublime perfection. I'll never tire of it.
Ladies an gentlemen…I give you the greatest song ever written.
0:09 this gives me chills every time I listen to this because it’s just the perfect opening to the perfect song
I love the fact that my favorite thing from 1997 is so beloved among a world so divided. I wish we could decide so many things based upon Everlong.
On a whole nother level rn! To have seen him live with FF is a blessing! So thankful! Took our 89 yo Grandpa too, to Bottle Rock! Great memories!
I got to see them also brother I just am in shock
Like David Letterman, this is my favorite song. When I die, I want this song played at my funeral. Thanks for making greatness
Now that's a group of musicians..
Pouring rain and these guys are giving it everything they've got.
I think this is probably the best live video I've ever seen I am fucking impressed.
My mom has always played foo fighters when she cooks or cleans, and my dad would put me asleep to rock music to fall asleep as a baby. Thank you to my parents for raising me along to amazing music❤️
*This man is an international treasure and he should be treated as such!!*
i will never stop loving this song 🎧❤️
Saw them play live in S.A , it changed my life forever! They touched my soul , today I am very very SAD. A giant has fallen but the legend wil live for eternity. R.I.P KING TAYLOR
I've listened to this 100x, and it gives me chills every single time. Definitely the best version of this song, ever.
My biggest dream ever is to see this song live, I honestly cry everytime I hear it
RIP Taylor ! I'll never be the chance to see you and the band in live show but I'll continue to listening again and again your fabulous music ! All my thoughts for the FF, his family and friends.
So sad. I’m supposed to see them this summer. Was really looking forward to seeing him perform in person. Such a talent and from what seemed like an amazing human being.
Thank you for existing and surviving Dave …we need you here
Thank you for Evermore from the Foo fighters. Much Love❤❤❤❤
Never clicked on a notification this fast.
Magical performance
I ... was .... there !
Will keep playing this forever !
I was at this gig and this is the only live song performance I've ever cried during, it was so powerful. RIP Taylor
My god.... How I just love Dave.....such a true artist with such visions of his music that how could you not be a fan...
This is why Kurt killed himself, because people like you worshiping singers, seeing them as gods, putting them on a pedestal when they’re human just like you. People like you are the type to not better you life and worship someone else’s.
Hello there, good day to you,and it’s nice seeing you
I’ve listened to the foos for a long time but it’s just now I’m realizing how good of a singer Dave is
RIP Taylor Hawkins… you were such an amazing one-of-a-kind drummer and we will miss you for the rest of our lifes.
Thats my favorite version of everlong ever. That was such a great concert
I had no interest in this song for 20 years…….then I turned 30. Now it’s one of my favorite songs on earth and brings me right back to my childhood in seconds. This song has delivered on every level it promised since it was written.
I saw.alot of bands in my teens but hand on heart always say that the foo fighters are the best live act I've ever seen. Utterly amazing
Prince was my best live act these guys were second..they were awesome 👍
Was in the crowd somewhere ,hairs on my neck tingling rewatching it,possibly the greatest song ever
Absofuckinglutely!!!
That must have been the perfect release of emotion and to truly connect with the spirit of his father in the most honest and raw tribute a son could give to a father 👏🏼👏🏼
The best performance of Everlong. By far. Rest In Peace Taylor.
Mikey Vintage Unboxing I hear you Mikey. I have 20 years on you and I feel the same way when I hear Rush. Rush changed my life
I love this song.
RIP Taylor, I had the honor to see you perform live twice… you will be missed 😢
This Song is about us 😊
Wow. What a huge loss. I cannot imagine this song without him back there lighting it up. RIP Taylor. Your smile and easy go spirit will truly be missed.
I'd cry if I got to see this live
Saw them in Bridgeport ct just before taylor and that’s exactly what happened to me. It was an experience.

every single second and sound of this song is exactly what love feels like for me
Hello there, good day to you,and nice seeing you here
The intro to Everlong and crowd getting excited compliments the song so well. It’s a perfect combination
One of the top 15 rock songs of all time and this live versions just gives you more chills.
