      That part of the movie never made sense to me. Johnny B Goode came out in 1958, 3 years after 1955. So it would still be those same teenagers at the school dance that would like it, not their kids. You know?

    • @zurichRevolts

      @mr.mysterious7940 the kids at the dance did like the song. the movie shows like two full minutes of everyone liking the song. the part they didn't like was his electric guitar solo.
      i don't think there's any way to be confused after actually watching the scene; you've gotta just be seeing the meme and vaguely remembering what was happening in the scene without remembering the solo

    12 years ago I got sent to California State Prison for drug possession . When the bus pulled up to Delano State Prison and we were waiting at the electric fences to get cleared to come inside. I remember singing in my head this song especially the part when he said, “What the hell am I doing here. I don’t belong here.” The bus driver at the moment turned up the music on the radio and this song was playing. I knew right there and then that this was going to be my last time ever in prison. That was 12 years ago and I’m proud to say that I’ve been crime free ever since and clean and sober. My name is Jon G and I’m a very grateful recovering drug addict. Thank you for letting me share.

I can say from personal experience that there is not enough support or understanding from non users in the community and this makes your accomplishment that much more impressive. Keep up the good work buddy, and here's to hoping that things improve to help others improve their situation.

    • @folv6631
      @folv6631 หลายเดือนก่อน +84

      90% of it probably. The whole song is very niche at first (prior to it becoming a popular mainstay song I mean), and his voice seems 'questionable' with cracks and whines here and there. But once he hits that note, you realize it's all very carefully deliberate and that he can really belt clear/melodic notes when he needs to and that changes your entire perception of what's going on.

      Honestly man, Pablo Honey is better than you probably think! Blow Out, Prove Yourself, Anyone Can Play Guitar, Creep. Etc, they’re all excellent songs (especially Blow Out!! I’d argue that’s one of their best).
      It’s just, what came after changed the their game forever. They mixed it up, redefined and redesigned themselves with each album, time and time again bringing a whole new sound to the table.
      I feel like, with that in mind, it was always gona be impossible for Pablo Honey to ever be anything more than just a debut, solid, British alt-rock album, since OK Computer was like.. The Dark Side of the Moon, of the 90’s!!
      I love how throughout the years, their live performances just got better, bigger, intenser, focused!! Everything about them as a band became more significant with each album release.. Because of that, the fucking agony, the stress, the touring, the work, the relationships.. It ruined them. They needed their well deserved.. break?? One can only hope.
      But at the same time, I kinda like what we have now. A near perfect run of albums adored world wide.. Maybe it’s time they did leave it at that? Plus, Yorke and Greenwood have that Smile thing going for em with Skinner, which is nice. I’m happy they still have another outlet to explore and create new stuff without the massive weight of the ‘RADIOHEAD’ name looming over their heads.

    Anyone else now thinking about during the writer's strike when Jordan, Aaron Bleyaert and other staff were playing "Creep" on Rockband, and Conan comes in with a real guitar and amp slung over his shoulder and completely outplays them, while blocking their view... and Jordan is on drums trying to look under Conan's leg to still drum accurately... with a bottle of Moet on the table next to him? If that's not proof that Jordan has always been Jordan, go back and watch that video (I think you can just type in "Conan writer's strike") and remember this was shortly before they even revealed Jordan for the first time... like, a couple of episodes before. I remember... I watched those shows live... I watch YOU live! Loves xx
