So they slapped on the R mount on the M50, it looks absolutely identical... I had the M50 until I switched to Fuji for personal stuff and I didn't miss any lenses for M mount. The 22mm FF 2 coming to R mount will be a brilliant lens - best APSC pancake on the market imo. Though not as pretty it makes an amazing alternative for something like the x100 series from fuji. Another lens canon needs to bring to RF-S is the 30mm 1.4.
Yeah, Canon has paid a shit ton of money to every YT-er to hipe these dogshit cameras, the R50 is advised to be used in A+ mode, auto mode not manual as it is unusuble in manual mode.. :D These are the worst cameras in the market for this price rather still get the R10 and R7, even the RP.
The M50 currently, is the better proposition than thr R50. The M50 has a tonne of lenses. All the EF-M lenses are sharp (yes including the kit lens if you get a good copy). There are hardly any RF-S lenses out and they are pretty much all EF-M lenses carried over in a new mount. In all cases they are inferior to their EF-M counterparts. You could of course use RF lenses but then you're paying much more and much heavier than RF-S so defeats the purpose. IMO I'd still rather buy the M50 in 2023 and have a plethora of available lenses (not even including the adapted EF lenses). The R10 is much better and the R7 as mentioned by the other comment. One of the things I missed when downgrading from the R5 to the RP was the ability to add cropping information (not aspect ratio), which would show guide lines and 'pre-crop' the RAW file when importing to LR. I liked being able to add cropping info for 5:4. Is that available for the R8?

A bit heavy at time, or unnerving to carry such an expensive camera at time.
@@AlexandrePRODHOMME I think the three biggest things missed with the downgrade are: - Loss of resolution, with the R5 I didn’t feel the need for more than the 70-200 since I could always crop in. I actually asked same question to a guy who was selling Sony Fx30. I have Sony A7iii and I shoot photos and videos. The guy told me that if you have full frame A7iii you'll be better off with that instead of FX30 as that is a APSC. Depends on your shooting style, you might do just well with full frame mirrorless camera than dedicated cine camera.
@@BoReynolds Full frame will always be better than APSC of the same league. For example in my case, my Sony A7iii has much better full frame lens selection compared to Apsc. Deppends what you shoot. If u record 2 hrs live show like me or wedding r8 dosnt overheat. Use external power bank. Its full frame. i thought the AF problem happens only with me with the EFS 18-135mm STM, thought i had a bad copy, then i saw this problem exist on the RFS lens as well ummmm
does this have mechanical shutter
The R50 missing the badge... makes the camera look like a stock photo of the camera. Ya know when they erase the logos on stock photos lol.
Too fun to be a preview video, lol. Btw, R8 will sell like hot cake
Nah I think people would rather go for RP since its now cheaper and plus it has IBIS.
Well, the R8 has the advantages of autofocus improvements and an updated processor.
@@moontecker RP doesn't have IBIS
where was this filmed? edit:found it rhs garden wisley
Looks like you are in the Netherlands
What does this make of the Canon R7?
S5ii or R8? Been burnt by Canons EFM line up so unsure if I should stick with Canon of shift to Panasonic
If you want full frame, I'd rather go Canon or Sony to be honest but for me personally I prefer crop as I shoot sports mainly so I'd go either Canon or Fuji.
I find Sony to be uninspiring and the ergonomics look off. Also their menu system looks convoluted but their lens range is great
The autofocus in Canon is better than in Panasonic and the difference in size and weight is huge.
Does the R8 overheat at 4K 30 fps in more than an hour of recording?
To put EF lens or full frame lens on this cameras it requires a spacer or adapter?
Wow the R50 footage looks horrible 😢
Is this R8 weather sealed ?
What is the lowest usable iso on R8. Is the same as on R6 mk2? Same sensor, same processor inside?
I got 6D and I can shoot long event with magic lantern and what I need is long video mode in 1080p and better iso. Is that usb charging fast enough for recording with power bank continously?
Hey Kai. What park is that?
do intermal mic suck?
the goats
Yacht club bros around the world will lose their shiz over the Helly Hansen comment 😂
Ah, well, they'd only be interested in Leicas anyway so they probably wouldn't be watching a video about entry level cameras!
Lock! Lok: What? 🤣🤣🤣
Canon with Lok in video
I miss you guys. Move vids please!
Still using the LP-e17 battery? That is naff in my M50, I can't see lasting longer in these cameras. As basic & under-specced as my 6D DSLR's focus system is I still haven't seen a desirable replacement for it that is affordable, maybe I just losing the passion for GAS...
So for photos is this better or worse than the original eos R
Eos R one of the worst in low light. Anything better than that,
@@brummelstudio Lol, no it's not. I've been using it since it came out for all my work and I shoot daily in very bad lit restaurants and low light environments . Just learn how to use your gear right.
The only problem is that a camera needs more weight to balance out the lens …otherwise its front heavy and a strain on your arm for shooting
Front heavy? How do you hold a camera setup? By the camera-body only? 1 hand on lens, 1 on body, no such thing as front heavy. Your suggestion would result in a heavier overall setup with would strain even more, just learn to balance out the center of gravity = not front heavy
yep, if you live from photography, handling and balanced equipments are key to avoid arm injuries. Once you use balanced equipments, you will understand.
How's the tone Lok 🤔🤣🤦♂️
ffs Canon I only wanted an R with better ergonomics, not an RP with better sensor lol
R6 R6ii R5: hi
I'm native, not just compatible - even in real life 🙂
Canon R8 or Sony a7c???
Depends what gear you have already but the R8 has the new sensor from the R6 mark ii where as the a7c is rocking the 2018 A7 mark iii sensor and I think the A7 mark iii is actually now the cheaper of the two. There are rumours the a7c mark ii will be out later this year though.
I am still mystified why people are so fixated on Eye AF - I am not interested in video people - just where I am. In fact having Eye AF on makes my situation worse as it distracts from buildings etc.
So, the gist: don't bother with these. You get what you pay for - unless you buy from Canon...
10:27 Digital ass on? 😂
Milking the cashcow until it hurts
Guys, CAN YOU PLEASE answer this. IF YOU were buying and you ONLY SHOOT VIDEO, AND you have NO LENSES. would YOU buy the R8, the R7, or the Sony FX 30? Thank you! (subbed and liked)
Bo
I actually asked same question to a guy who was selling Sony Fx30. I have Sony A7iii and I shoot photos and videos. The guy told me that if you have full frame A7iii you'll be better off with that instead of FX30 as that is a APSC. Depends on your shooting style, you might do just well with full frame mirrorless camera than dedicated cine camera.
@@codenameFourtySeven but I'm seriously confused. Is full frame really that much better than an apsc with IBIS 2 SD CARDS and 120p in 1080?
@@BoReynolds Full frame will always be better than APSC of the same league. For example in my case, my Sony A7iii has much better full frame lens selection compared to Apsc. Has 2 card slots, 1080p 120 fps and 4k shooting, Ticks all the boxes. Sony A7IV has been recently released. Check out few more reviews and make a selection :) .
@@codenameFourtySeven I appreciate the response! Thank you!
Deppends what you shoot. If u record 2 hrs live show like me or wedding r8 dosnt overheat. Use external power bank. Its full frame. Im going to R7 as I need better iso for photoshoot and video in dark events. Also need eye track for events as my eyes get tired after a while taking pictures of hundreds of people.1 card slot enough. I never had issue in 8yrs. Battery could be bigger. I have my canon old lenses and canon flash so i dont want to change to sony. Even r8 small to me. Sony just too small to hold on grip. Like bigger to add boom mic and light.
That rabbit sculpture is EXTREMELY disturbing 🍑👀
It’s the weak lens selection that puts me off. Canon lenses are huge and the small bodies look ridiculous. Plus canon have stopped third party lens support.
