Because after the Prequels, we know that the Jedi had wrongdoings, because have the half of the truth, they are passive and letting chaos spending, that is they nature. The Sith represent violence and destruction, but also creating order around them. The new trilogy with they two protagonist, had a chance to form a balance, a coexisting between Light and Dark. Much like at the SWTOR games, there is no clearly good or bad side, both of them capable doing damage and greatness. But hope some Disney+ show could tell us a tale as poetic we will remember forever.

The sith knew they would be succeeded by their apprentice. It was their religion. When their apprentice tried to kill them they wouldn’t just let it happen, but the winners would be worthy.....it’s kinda like how male lions fight each other and the alpha is the one who does all the breeding. It ensures the strong genetics live on....if you’re able to beat your master. Then you’re worthy of carrying on the sith and training the next apprentice. If they don’t train an apprentice who goes on to kill them, they have effectively weakened the sith when they go on to die some other way. Being killed by their apprentice is their religion. That’s the whole point...there can only be two, to get stronger they need to get someone better, that means killing the weaker of the two to make room for the next apprentice trained by the stronger one. Even palpatine who was iffy on the rule of two told yoda. “Vader will become more powerful than us both”... at that time he figured anakin would become much more powerful and eventually kill him. And in legends he often tested Vader and tried to have him killed, even without his suit sometimes. Palpatine was always making him prove he was worthy and at anytime would’ve gotten rid of him if he wasn’t worthy.
Its funny because in the E.U. we actually could work forwards from Ajunta Pall to Bane pretty easily, there's some question after Darth Cognus, if Millenial continued Sith teachings, who replaced him and if there was ever reconciliation. Darth Vectivus is likely in between Bane and the Twi'lek but we don't know when.

That's actually quite brilliant. You make every jedi feel the dark side of the force (if possible pointing to some abandoned or long ago trap.) If the jedi start doing something because they felt the darkside, then the sith know they have to be very careful, slow, and hidden and that it's too early to start their plans. If the Jedi do nothing then it's time for the sith to act.
By the way, pay attention to how Palpatine's ability to move his spirit to another body in Dark Empire is being developed in Plagueis' tale. This is some level of integrity.

I’d love a series on all the sith. Each episode is about a master getting their apprentice and throughout the episode we see their training and eventully the masters downfall, then, the next episode is about that past apprentice being the master. Until we get to palpatine

Making Snoke an essence transferred Plagueis would have been an amazing narrative choice for Lucasfilm. That is what they should have done. Leave Palpatine dead, leave Anakin's sacrifice intact and have Rey be Snoke's target for a new vessel, as his Snoke body was deteriorating. But nope..!

I really wish we got more of Bane's Sith. Disney surely stagnated that process. In Legends we have: Darth Bane->Darth Zannah->Darth Cognus->Darth Millenial(grew disillusioned with the Rule of Two)->.......something-something years. At this point there are were also the Lords Vectivus and Ramage. Vectivus, interestingly, learned how to not be consumed by the dark side thus never being fully corrupted. It is known he had an apprentice and died happily on his own terms, surrounded by his friends. Quite a rare case. Ramage did experiments on a creature with far sight and had made a holocron which Vader unsucessfully tried to get->After some time, Darth Gravid's master-> Darth Gravid(tried to combine Sith Teachings with that of the Jedi, destroyed most of Sith lore including all traces of essence transfer to a body that's not your clone. Bane tried after being killed to take over Zannah's mind. Was killed by his apprentice in 533 BBY. Speaking of:)->Darth Gean->Darth Gean's apprentice->..->Darth Guile->..->Darth Tenebrous' Master->Darth Tenebrous->Darth Plagueis->Darth Venamis(was Tenebrous' second apprentice, as he started to deem Plagueis flawed and was killed by Plagueis more than once. Was one of the test subjects for his midichlorian experiments, I think)->Darth Sidious->Darth Maul->Darth Tyrannus->And, of course, Darth Vader. According to Plagueis there were 30 Sith in the millenia of Bane's lineage, up until Maul or Sidious. That makes 18 Sith known, and in Legends *and* if you count Venamis. Unlikely. That show and its writing will be lackluster. They will ignore their own lore and circumvent the sith grand plan. I would not put it pass them to erase the rule of two and replace it with something else entirely.
That novel should get canonized. It's probably my favorite Star Wars book and easily fits in the current canon without preventing other content from also being added. That's a rare occurrence for the books.

I invented a character called Mammon Rath who was a Neimoidian Sith Lord and went by the name Darth Imperius. He founded the Trade Federation and was the apprentice of Darth Gean. His initial goal was to make Neimoidia a cultural power house of the galaxy to rival Coruscant and Falleen but he abandoned this plan in favour of mentoring Darth Tenebrous and one other apprentice. After Imperius was killed in an explosion by a suicide bomber whose planet had been polluted by the Federation, his elder apprentice completed Tenebrous’s training. If I see this turning up in any fanfic, I’m linking it to this comment section.
I think the Jedi didn't want to believe the Sith were back, despite the rift. I mean even in the Darth Bane books, the Jedi wanted to believe the Sith were extinct so bad that they criticized anyone who suggested it. Then they were so quick to accept an imposter being Darth Bane. Tbh the moment General Hoth died, that was the nail in the coffin that the Jedi would be blinded until something as extreme as Order 66 happened.
2:34 God I love rewatching the movies after the clone wars series and knowing these jedis names as you see them in the backgrounds. It just makes me feel so much more invested in the series. I also have a deeper appreciation for these characters especially characters like Masters Mundi and Plo Koon who were badass.
I don't remember anything in that book stating he read the Journal of the Whills, or knew of the Chosen One. From everything I know, Dooku told Sidious who told Plageuis.

I think the Jedi didn’t bother investigating the Dark Side rift because there were many places in the galaxy that were Dark Side nexuses, like the cave on Dagobah. Maybe they just assumed some neutral party like the Night Sisters were up to something and didn’t feel the need to get involved with the witches.
I wish Snoke was Darth Plagueis. Have it so he finally figured out a way to stop himself from dying that way regardless of what happened to him in The Last Jedi he would still be around. May not sound very good but at least we would've gotten to see more Andy Serkis' performance.

I have a theory that Plageius is actually palpatine. Spoilers-ish for episode 9 btw When Palpatine was trying to get Rey to kill him, he said something like "strike me down so my essence may take over your body" so what if when Palpatine killed Plageius in his sleep, he transferred himself and took over Palpatine's body?
Nah bro. Sorry, but Plagueis never was able to fulfill essence transfer. Plagueis tried to preserve his own life through manipulation of medichlorians, and he thought he was immortal to the point that he didn’t defend himself when Palpatine attacked him. Plagueis died before he could place his soul within Palpatine.
I always wanted to see a Sith lineage book. Who came after Zannah and Cognus. Who was Darth Ramage? The story of Darth Gravid and Darth Gean would have been good. Who was Darth Vectivus' apprentice, how did he or she feel of serving a master who did no evil? So many names were dropped in the Darth Plaguis book, it would have been nice to have gotten a list of the Sixteen( I think that was the number that Plaguis quoted in his novel) or other lords that followed Darth Bane.
It would be amazing if you could do a complete timeline of SW, starting from the very first user of the Force, or the origin of the Force itself. It is a massive Universe and getting some facts right sometimes is very problematic :) Cheers SWT
They didn't kill their masters because "they thought they were smarter...." They killed them because they were stronger. Yes they thought they had learned everything they could from their masters and that's just arrogance. (Something common with those with power.) However, Darth Bane himself, as part of the Rule of Two said that the apprentice would have to kill the master to prove themselves stronger and worthy to carry on the "grand plan". Thus making each Sith Master stronger than the previous. (At least that was the idea.) Even in the Sith search for an apprentice, once they had killed their master, they would look for such an apprentice. Turning down potentials because they found them unworthy until they found one that was worthy. There is even one example in the Clone Wars series, Savage Opress, who was discarded by Darth Tyranus or Count Dukoo because he found him to be unworthy.
I had the SWI magazine with the short story that told how Plagueis killed Tenebrous, but misplaced it. Lucasfilm should make those available online or as a download with the E-book, or something!
Darths in order: Twi' Lik, Tenenbrous, Plagueis, Sidious, Maul, Tyrranus, Vader. This book should be made canon, it's the best Star Wars book about the Sith I ever read.

According to Plagueis there were 30 Sith in the millenia of Bane's lineage, up until Maul or Sidious. That makes 18 Sith known, and in Legends *and* if you count Venamis. Hope we get more of them in Acolyte.
Unlikely. That show and its writing will be lackluster. They will ignore their own lore and circumvent the sith grand plan. I would not put it pass them to erase the rule of two and replace it with something else entirely.

I fully agree. The only thing I can think of in that book that can't be canon is the explanation that Sith lightsaber crystals are synthetic and not corrupted like they show in Rebels

I invented a character called Mammon Rath who was a Neimoidian Sith Lord and went by the name Darth Imperius. He founded the Trade Federation and was the apprentice of Darth Gean. His initial goal was to make Neimoidia a cultural power house of the galaxy to rival Coruscant and Falleen but he abandoned this plan in favour of mentoring Darth Tenebrous and one other apprentice. After Imperius was killed in an explosion by a suicide bomber whose planet had been polluted by the Federation, his elder apprentice completed Tenebrous’s training.

I think the Jedi didn't want to believe the Sith were back, despite the rift. I mean even in the Darth Bane books, the Jedi wanted to believe the Sith were extinct so bad that they criticized anyone who suggested it. Then they were so quick to accept an imposter being Darth Bane. Tbh the moment General Hoth died, that was the nail in the coffin that the Jedi would be blinded until something as extreme as Order 66 happened.

2:34 God I love rewatching the movies after the clone wars series and knowing these jedis names as you see them in the backgrounds. It just makes me feel so much more invested in the series. I also have a deeper appreciation for these characters especially characters like Masters Mundi and Plo Koon who were badass.

I don't remember anything in that book stating he read the Journal of the Whills, or knew of the Chosen One. From everything I know, Dooku told Sidious who told Plageuis.

Last time i was this early Darth Plagueis was still alive.
I think the Jedi didn’t bother investigating the Dark Side rift because there were many places in the galaxy that were Dark Side nexuses, like the cave on Dagobah. Maybe they just assumed some neutral party like the Night Sisters were up to something and didn’t feel the need to get involved with the witches.
I wish Snoke was Darth Plagueis. Have it so he finally figured out a way to stop himself from dying that way regardless of what happened to him in The Last Jedi he would still be around. May not sound very good but at least we would've gotten to see more Andy Serkis' performance.

When Palpatine was trying to get Rey to kill him, he said something like "strike me down so my essence may take over your body" so what if when Palpatine killed Plageius in his sleep, he transferred himself and took over Palpatine's body?
Nah bro. Sorry, but Plagueis never was able to fulfill essence transfer. Plagueis tried to preserve his own life through manipulation of medichlorians, and he thought he was immortal to the point that he didn’t defend himself when Palpatine attacked him. Plagueis died before he could place his soul within Palpatine.
I always wanted to see a Sith lineage book. Who came after Zannah and Cognus. Who was Darth Ramage? The story of Darth Gravid and Darth Gean would have been good. Who was Darth Vectivus' apprentice, how did he or she feel of serving a master who did no evil? So many names were dropped in the Darth Plaguis book, it would have been nice to have gotten a list of the Sixteen( I think that was the number that Plaguis quoted in his novel) or other lords that followed Darth Bane.

Well in Star Wars I’ve always loved Sith lore and learning more about the ancient sith and modern sith as well
They didn't kill their masters because "they thought they were smarter...." They killed them because they were stronger. Yes they thought they had learned everything they could from their masters and that's just arrogance. (Something common with those with power.) However, Darth Bane himself, as part of the Rule of Two said that the apprentice would have to kill the master to prove themselves stronger and worthy to carry on the "grand plan". Thus making each Sith Master stronger than the previous. (At least that was the idea.) Even in the Sith search for an apprentice, once they had killed their master, they would look for such an apprentice. Turning down potentials because they found them unworthy until they found one that was worthy. There is even one example in the Clone Wars series, Savage Opress, who was discarded by Darth Tyranus or Count Dukoo because he found him to be unworthy.
I had the SWI magazine with the short story that told how Plagueis killed Tenebrous, but misplaced it. Lucasfilm should make those available online or as a download with the E-book, or something!
