- Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well today/night. Here's a big video that I think is pretty cool to explore. What if Darth Plagueis killed Emperor Palpatine / Darth Sidious? We all know how the Galaxy unfolds with Anakin turning into the cyborg Darth Vader, but what if Sidious wasn't his master? What if Plagueis was? It would completely change history with the Jedi Masters such as Mace Windu, Master Yoda, Obi-Wan, and later Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia and Chewbacca.

Michael Verdon He didn’t want Vader to be too powerful and try and overthrow him. He tried to handicap Vader as much as possible when he was rebuilt, even made sure that he could easily subdue him with Force Lightning.

Bringbleachback Dunno. He had plans for immortality in the works in Legends, so even if Vader was capable of defeating him (and it would be a very close fight since Sidious isn’t a pushover), it would basically be a non-factor. Or he would’ve upped the emotional manipulation in order to make sure Vader stayed obedient. After he was crippled at Mustafar, Sidious became a lot more laissez-faire about mentally manipulating Vader and went to straight up domination, because he was clearly in a position of greater power.
@@faceagain5703 revenge of the sith on ps2 had alternative ending where anakin killed kenobi and then killed sidious to where that ending made sense, after all palpatine had lied about knowing the ability to immortality so why would anakin want someone who is a threat to rule over him and make him his slave.

Well, if Plaguis was emperor i imagine the Death star was never created, perhaps he would use those credits on something more reliable, like creating a missive fleet or more weapons and warriors or something like that.
I do also wonder what if Plaguis never took Palpatine as his apprentice if he would have succeded in living on forever and such.

I love how Ian shows so much pride and arrogance in this scene. He was such a good actor for the role.

Since Plagueis was far more interested in the force than in politics, his empire would likely look a lot different from Palpatine's. So I think figures like Tarkin and Mas Amedda would get more power to rule the empire on the Sithlord's behalf. Anakin - now without mask - would be portrayed as a war hero and have ultimate power over the Empire's military forces, though over time people would grow to fear him just as they feared the Vader we all know and love to hate.
After years of training under his new master he would eventually turn on him and I believe Anakin would be successful.
@Laith Rajha Plagueis was never interested in methods like this, though. His research specifically aimed to become immortal with his own mind in his own body.
well if anakin did transfer into a clone whats stopping Plaguies from doing it as well ? In that case if they both fought in their new clone bodies, itd come down to who is the better duelist n has more knowledge in the force
I think that plagueis would have installed something like a kill switch or a secret timed thing that'll automatically kill Anakin (and destroy his clones) if not activated in a specific time period

well we know canonically that sideous and plagues are 2 different people, and that sideous had plans to avoid his own death set in place long before he got thrown down the shaft in episode 6. If your suggesting that plagues essence transferred himself into palpatine's body I suppose that could be possible but I've never heard of essence transferred be used outside of transferring to a clone of ones former body. It is interesting either way that whoever sideous is he knows of someone who has cheated death, maybe he means revan but I kinda doubt that considering he eventually fully die in the end anyway and that was such a long time before episode 3 or anything like that it wuldn't make sense for him to reference it
I thought Palpatine and Plagueis created Anakin together in a ritual. Plagueis wanted to destroy the young Anakin because he thought he was too uncontrollable and impulsive etc. Palpatine believed he could turn Anakin to the dark side, however, so in order to do that successfully he needed to kill Plagueis before Plagueis killed Anakin and, hence, Palpatine never completed his training and how to save others from death

josiah jenks while that's a cool idea, he was raised from a young young age to have a cold calculated morality, his birth was designed by his master to make a child strong in not just the force but specifically the dark side. as a grey Jedi though is plausible and a cool idea.

Plagueis’s voice is freakin intimidating, I think my heart skipped a beat or two when I heard it.
Now he has a legendarily majestic voice.
And the book about him is my favorite Star Wars book.

(If you read the book it indicates that Palpatine was working on making life threw the Force and that he had to do it outside of where anyone notice, including his master, hence he is Anakins father, threw the Force)
The answer I think is more simple: In the book, Plagueis was actively planning to make Dooku his apprentice if Sidious failed. If Plagueis had killed Sidious after his failed assassination bid, he would have turned Count Dooku who in turn would have become Galactic Leader, either by winning the Chancellorship himself, which was well within his abilities as a statesman and charismatic idealist, or as CIS leader who then defeats the Republic.
Either way, once he had achieved this, Dooku would unburden himself of Plagueis by either defeating him face to face, or simply having the Jedi take him out. Dooku then trains Anakin, or perhaps, Obi-Wan as his successor.

warren byrne Obi-wan is the first Jedi in a thousand years to kill a sith lord, he comes from a long line of powerful jedi (yoda -> dooku -> qui-gon), and as we see in the other films, Obi-wan will become one of the most powerful and accomplished jedi of all time. Given that the jedi council has a (limited) ability to see the future, Obi-wan seems like a pretty well qualified candidate. Combined with the fact the force chose to reveal anakin to qui-gon and sense he's dead and his last request was for Anakin to be trained they pretty made him a special case so if obi wan actually never killed maul, Maul could of attempted to get revenge which if won he'd probably kill luke aunt and uncle as they attempted to keep him from Luke, knowing a Jedi like obi wan Luke must be special so he'll most likely take him to see if he is force sensitive

Darth Vader and Luke reign for thousands of years and eventually travel to a galaxy far far away where they seek other force-users. They find not one person who can wield the force, but they do discover a company, called Disney, that has bastardized their stories. However, rather than kill everyone, they simply bankrupt Disney and "force" them to give away the rights to their stories back to George Lucas, knowing that their stories would at least be respectable, even if they wouldn't necessarily turn out the same way as they have turned out to be. Darth Vader does give a scolding to George Lucas about episodes 1-3 and warns him not to disappoint him again. They leave for the time being, but plan to return to make sure their stories remain in good standing.
Also, Vader force chokes Kathleen Kennedy for her failure, having dared to mock his bloodline by deeming Rey a Skywalker. A true Skywalker does not desecrate a lightsaber with sand.

I'd thought Plagueis did know what was going on and challenged Sidious by trying to overcome him in a duel of wisdom, keeping himself alive in spite of the force lightnings. Didn't a line in the book say something like that Sidious thought his master had become too arrogant, thinking he could handle the situation while drunk, half asleep and not fighting back?

The problem I see is that Anakin had to accept Padme's death as Palpatine clearly said 'together we can find the secret' about the ability to create life. But if Plageus has clearly said 'I know the secret' even teaching it to Anakin, then Anakin would want to restore Padme, even perhaps to the point of obsession, stealing her body from Naboo until he can restore it through the force or something. And finding his child (since he would assume one since twins were a surprise it seemed to everyone) was not within her. If Anakin succeeded Padme would become his anchor to the light side, and he would soon turn once more to the light through her influence, and actions to make him realise the empire was not a force of good.
Alternatively, if Plageus refused to restore her life as he would promise, Anakin would turn on him for his betrayal, either defeating him, or being killed himself.
If Vader did somehow not go that route, and everything up to RotJ continued as it had, I think it would still continue the same way, Luke would fight, though possibly be beaten by the now completely human Vader as you said, but still refuse to join the dark side as he did originally, as nothing for Luke would have changed, the only change may be is that Vader will once more save his son, but by being organic, does not suffer the same fatal injury (if you follow any of the theories of Palpatine keeping him alive, or his systems suffering a malfunction from the lightning) and he would survive to possibly resume being a Jedi, or teaching Luke more about it, but remaining apart from the rest of the galaxy, essentially going in to exile.

I think the story would change when Obi-Wan fights Vader in Episode IV. Obi-Wan would die much earlier, so Luke wouldn't see him dying.
-> means he would try to find Obi-Wan on the Death Star. There he would meet Anakin in a long corridor, in his powerful clone body. Let's change from subjunctive to indicative now, otherwise this would take forever. 'I just killed your master and now you will join him!' Anakin screams.
Luke aggressively runs over to him and activated his lightsaber.
We could now say that Vader just slices Luke in 6 parts, but that would make the story turn out very boring, so let's say Vader cuts off his hand and force-pushes him far through the corrider and runs over to him to now kill him. 'Run Luke, run!' Obi-Wan says to Luke through the force. Luke runs through the corridor, over to the hangar into the Falcon. The door shuts and Han tries to fly away, but Vader holds on to the Falcon with the force. Han turns the ship around and shoots at him, Vader can't hold onto it anymore and they fly away. Next Luke would get a new hand. As time would pass, it wouldn't change the Battle Of Yavin. But after that, Luke would go to Dagobah earlier, because Obi-Wan realises he needs much more training than against Palpatine. Luke being on Dagobah wouldn't change the Battle Of Hoth, except for the alliance taking out less AT-ATs, but I don't think that would really make it worse than it was. Luke also doesn't go to Bespin to his friends, because he sees that he can't help them. He then comes back when Han should be freed. This turns out like in the movies. Then Luke comes back to Dagobah where Yoda dies in peace. This turns out like in the movies, except for Luke not being told that Vader is his father. (Luke would probably not even believe that, because Anakin would still be in his 22-year old body). On Endor they meet each other and start fighting. After a long and intense fight, Luke eventually defeats him. In the mean time the other rebells destroy the shield generator and blow up the death star with Plagueis on it. Both transfer into a clone body on an unknown planet. Now they send a fake message to lead the alliance to another planet where they destroy almost the whole alliance. Luke kills Vader again while Plagueis takes out the rebels. Then Luke attacks Plagueis, the fight ends with Plagueis almost killing Luke, but Luke being able to escape on the Falcon with Han, Leia, Chewie and a few rebels. Luke starts meditating about how Plagueis and Vader came back. He realises what Plagueis is able to do and knows he has to destroy those clone bodies, but he also realises, that he isn't strong enough to do this on his own. He and the rest of the alliance go into hiding in the unknown regions. Plagueis and Vader obviously search for him, but Luke also mastered the force suppression during his time on Dagobah, so they can't sense him. In the unknown regions he starts building up a small Jedi order for the next 3.5 decades. After that time he comes back with 5 Jedi masters (including Han's and Leia's children) and 10 Jedi knights to take out Plagueis and Vader. They fly to the planet Luke has seen in his vision 35 years earlier. At that point Vader and Plagueis finally sense him and also fly there to stop him. Both arrive there at around the same time. In an epic duel Luke and the five masters fought the Sith, while the knights and their Padawans destroyed the clone bodies. After they destroyed all the clones, they join the fight that now just consists of Luke and two masters fighting Plagueis. Plagueis casually takes out all of the Padawans and most knights. After another epic battle Luke is finally able to take Plagueis out with only having a master and two of the knights remaining. But all of a sudden two creatures appear at the door and start again shooting lightning. Luke and the other Jedi attack them, but they can escape. Luke realises, that they have mastered to transfer their souls into anyone they want and that the whole fight was just a setup. But he also realises how to take them out. He has to block their force powers and then kill them. He has never learned how to do this to such powerful darkside users, so he knows he will have to catch a Terentatek and bring it near them, so they can't use this power anymore (obviously they don't loose a 100 % of their force power, but I'm sure they loose enough to not being able to transfer their bodies anymore). So he sends Han, Chewie and a lot of rebels to Korriban to catch one of those. After weeks Han, Chewie and a few rebels come back with even two Terentateks in a big freighter. They fly to Coruscant and fight Plagueis and Vader there as a setup in the Senat, until Han brings the Terentateks to them. All lightsabers suddenly turn off. Vader and Plagueis see the Terentateks and use their remaining force powers trying to take them out with force lightning, but because they aren't able to use Tutaminis and force lightning at the same time, because of their weakness, they aren't able to stop the rebels, who now appear from different entrances to the Senat, from shooting them down. With Plagueis and Vader finally completely gone, Luke starts building up a new republic and for the second time starts to build a new jedi order.

I could imagine the two Skywalkers clashing, light against dark. Given that Luke when he challenged Vader in the canon story was just as powerful as Vader could become, I would say that their raw power would leave them evenly matched in regards to sheer strength. However, given that Luke had not completed his training and the decades of experience Vader had on him along with possessing his full power, Luke would be outmatched by his father in terms of experience and skill. The only power I could imagine Luke being able to access instinctively would be the Force Sever technique. Given the technique's light side affiliation and pacifistic nature, I could see Luke using this ability to prevent his father from gaining the upper hand at the last second. By weaving his way into and forcing Vader's personality down and using his powers to strengthen Anakin's personality, the revived consciousness of the elder Skywalker would then turn on Plagueis and kill him with a sweeping blade of Force Lightning. But that's the only scenario that I could see Luke coming out alive or as a Light Side user.
I can't get over how well Ian Mcdiarmid played that scene when telling the story of Dearth Plagueis.
When Vader told Luke he was his father on Bespin, he wouldn't just tell Luke that they would be powerful together, but would tell Luke that if he didn't, the emperor, Darth plauegis, with an army of AT ATs would kill the rebels. Vader would tell Luke the story of Plauegis, and since Luke knew that the rebels couldn't defeat the walkers alone, they definitely couldn't defeat them when they kept reviving. Luke would escape Vader like he did in the empire strikes back, and would also lose his hand like he did in the empire strikes back. When he got on the starship Leia was on, he would tell her his plan to pretend to be a sith, and change sides in the middle of an important battle. When the battle of endor was about to start, Luke would stay on endor, and wait for Vader. When Vader got to Endor with the scout troopers, Luke would go to the deathstar with Vader. Vader would tell Plauegis how Luke gave in to the dark side. Plauegis would tell Luke that going to the darkside was a good choice. Later, they would be in the throne room, watching the rebels try to destroy the death star. When he least expected it, Plauegis would be killed by Luke. Vader and Luke would break into a lightsaber duel and try to kill one another. Meanwhile, Leia would tell Han Solo about Luke's plan and secretly escape the battle of Endor. She would then get into the deathstar, and sneak into the throne room. She would look at Vader, and then down at the unconscious Luke. She would use the force for the first time in her life and use it to grab Luke's green lightsaber and start fighting Vader. She would knock Vader to the ground but eventually, he would get up and start force choking her. Unexpectedly, Han and Chewie would bust through the throne room door. They would pull out their guns and shot Vader, he wouldn't be dead because of his armor, but would be unconscious, giving Leia the chance to strike Vader in the heart with Luke's lightsaber. This would change the Force awakens in some ways. Luke, Qui gonn's force ghost, Yoda's force ghost, and Obi wan's force ghost would teach Leia the ways of the force, and if that happened, this is what would happen in the Force awakens, after Han solo died. Leia would cut a hole through the door of the room where Han Solo died with her lightsaber, and use the force to knock Kylo Ren off the cliff, since Kylo killed Solo. On the way down, Kylo would heal Solo, and tell him what Plauegis could do, according to Snoke, and tell him that that was how he was revived a few minutes ago. using proof that he obviously knew how to save others from dying, he asked "Will you join me?" Han solo said yes, and they were saved by falling onto the roof of a building. In this version of the Force awakens, the battle at the end would be Rey, Finn, and Leia, vs. Han Solo and Kylo Ren. This time, the darkside would have an advantage, since both Kylo Ren and Han Solo could save each other from certain death. Han would make the same mistake that Anakin did in revenge of the sith, telling Leia that they could destroy Snoke, and rule the galaxy together. Leia would play the roles of both Obi wan, and Padme, fighting Han, and beating him. Right before Han Solo could have died, Kylo Ren gave Han health. Leia was tired, but Han was fully active, and killed Leia, since she couldn't keep up. Rey would gather all her rage and let it out through the force, destroying everything, including Finn, Kylo Ren, and Han solo. Snoke could sense her rage, flew in a starship, and turned Rey to the darkside when he had the advantage. He would tell Rey " pretend to be a rebel, and when you have the chance, steal the map to Luke Skywalker ,so we can kill the last Jedi." Rey did so, and they traveled to Luke. Together they were more powerful than him, so they killed him, and threw the holographic map into the water below so that nobody could find it. They had also that if someone actually did find it, it would be short circuited because the water would make it malfunction.
When Rey got the plans, she didn't know that BB8 caught her on video. He had zoomed in on the video, so the rebels could see where the map said to go. He alerted the rebels, and they set out on the long journey. Rey and Snoke stayed at the mountains, so, when the rebels got there, they found Rey and Snoke. Snoke was so giant that he could go to his hideout in five seconds. He evacuated , leaving Rey to fight all of the rebels alone.This made her dig deeper into the dark side, making her defeat almost every one of the rebels. The only survivors were Mon Mothma and Ackbar. But before they could escape, Rey killed them. She made a speech about how she killed every single rebel, and was now the ruler of the galaxy, and projected it everywhere. It was now a dark time for everyone. But there was hope, but nobody knew about it. Ezra, Sabine, Hera, Zeb, and Kanan were old and tired, but decided since they hadn't done anything for the galaxy in a long time, they had to fight.
That's a bit far.
But how can rey go find Luke if hes dead?
And Luke could try to be a turn coat or whatever but Plagius and Vader would be able to sense his true intentions through the force. AND
even if Plagius fell for Lukes trick he would instantly kill Vader or tell luke to kill him to keep the rule of 2 and would pick luke bc he'd be a younger and more powerful apprentice
And Han was never Force sensitive.

Before I found your channel I always though Plaguis fooled Palpatine into killing him, only through such an act could he transfer his conscience to another. Like Palpatine himself. Later I thought it would be a good reason for Reys super powers in "the force is female" trilogy, if Rey was actually Plaguis, in Palpatines granddaughter, as poetic revenge? That would've been neat. Movies meh

For some reason whenever I think of Palpatine's telling of Plagueis to Anakin, I think of Palpatine as an evil kindergarten teacher reading a story to lots of children (the rest of the people at the show) but Anakin as the only one listening.
