When you think if you're a Sith lord and believe in the rule of two you are really going uphill trying to conquer the galaxy. Think how elaborate Palpatine's plan was its almost laughable that it worked. Become a senator of a planet, create a skirmish, get voted chancellor, create a civil war, have a clone army made in secret, train two sith apprentices and hope you have found a third who is the chosen one.

Yes, the ancient Sith where better at war and fighting because they had to kill or be killed, but what power do they get in the univers by fighting themselves? By Bane's new ideology/rule (same religion?(Sith), they could work in shadow, influence the people who welded power in the universe (Republic, politicians, merchant etc). They could deceive and plot without the Jedi order looking for them, because they thought the Sith where gone from existence. Out of sight, out of mind. This is why he never used Vader, damaged goods and a weaker body than he had, why he wanted Luke but gave up when Luke resisted to kill him, and why he wanted Ray but gave up when she refused. In my humble opinion, what happens in episode 9 where Palpatine die and killing the Sith eternal (cult of Sith), where him fulfilling the prophecy of the ancient Sith. He needed to have them all at one place, to kill them and rise as an phenix from the ashes. The Sith'ari will be free of limits. The Sith'ari will lead the Sith and destroy them. The Sith'ari will raise the Sith from death and make them stronger than before.

The Rule of Two is the Rule of strength, it's meant to foster the next generation to be able to soundly overcome the last, breeding a stronger outcome. Many Sith before Bane had used essence transfer in the past, it was a sound and powerful ability, the power to escape death is obviously vital. If Zannah could not resist Bane's attempt, she might've killed him but she wouldn't have truly defeated him, but her essence overcame and in the end Zannah proved to be Bane's superior. Bane pulled out all the stops, he held nothing back, and his apprentice was able to overcome him. Compared to Sith Lords like Plagueis or Sidious, Bane actually respected the rule of two, and made sure to impart his apprentice with the means to truly replace him without having to plot or rely on trickery, he fulfilled the rule of two perfectly.

@Darth Info Windu would have killed Palpatine had the anakin not killed him before. Palpatine is weak. In the first episode it is said that anakin will be more potent than "Yoda" when it grows. Darth vader is most powerful in star wars.
It would be interesting if there is another line of Sith, from another apprentice Plagueis had hidden from Palpatine when he was killed. Remaining hidden somewhere perhaps in the unknown regions.

Love these videos! Would love you to do a video about the relationship of Palpatine to the Republic vs. the Separatist leaders. Obviously he hid his face while communicating with the Separatists, but did they know he was the Chancellor? I've always wondered this... seemed like he could have been ratted out at any given point.

I think I have a cool idea for a Sith Lord who has somehow gotten in touch with the light side of the Force and has learned to control his emotions but then concentrates on one of the emotions and lives it out excessively in combat or meditation. So he could master fighting and force techniques based on these emotions. I think he should have one or two purple lightsabers but one with a curved hilt. Do you also think that would be a cool concept? If so pls like this comment.
What if Palpatine had waited ten years before killing Plagueis? We know that Plagueis at that time would have been even more powerful and would have mastered his ability to create life in the Force. Palpatine would have to have killed Plagueis during the events of the Clone Wars. Anakin would also have met Plagueis before Palpatine killed him. There's likely a parallel universe timeline where that happened.
I enjoy this series well done. A couple things I have been pondering of late. 1. Did anakin really have the ability to see the future in such detail or was it palpatine? It was always a little on the convenient side for me how it came and went only to serve the emperors needs. 2. Is there a significance to the emperors broach? Its quite ornate and looks like it could have a meaning of sorts, just wondering what that might be.
I don’t know if it was 7. He didn’t really do anything with Naat Lare, he barely did anything while Venamis was alive. Sidious had like 7 apprentices though.
Seriously? These never were apprentices. He sought them out and maybe even considered taking them as apprentice. But none of them ever even got a glimps of teaching.
Darth Plagueis was one of the best books I’ve ever read of any kind. It would totally make a sweet movie on its own. Also, it shows how Sidious had DECADES of training before becoming a Sith Lord himself, showing a difference in Vader’s training backstory of only having been Vader a short while before confronting his demons, like the Obi Wan fight and Padme’s death, as he was essentially rushed into it, and why Palps was a boss.
You should do a series on the old republic, especially now that it’s rumored to be the next movie series produced in the Star Wars franchise and universe
I thought plagues was going to make one of the apprentices his own apprentice as said but he killed two and threatened the other to never ponder the galaxy or he will kill him. I can see the evil in plagues and his brutality now.
I guess I will have to reread the book again because I don't remember some of that material. I vaguely recall about the death scene. I think it would be awesome to see how someone can die with their blood boiling. Awesome and tragic at the same time!

It would be interesting if there is another line of Sith, from another apprentice Plagueis had hidden from Palpatine when he was killed. Remaining hidden somewhere perhaps in the unknown regions.

I wouldn’t say that was “generous” of him. Considering that before he left that apprentice “to never surface again” he took their ability to change and kept them in a disfigured shaped. Left em useless. That’s cold.

I think I have a cool idea for a Sith Lord who has somehow gotten in touch with the light side of the Force and has learned to control his emotions but then concentrates on one of the emotions and lives it out excessively in combat or meditation. So he could master fighting and force techniques based on these emotions. I think he should have one or two purple lightsabers but one with a curved hilt.

What if Palpatine had waited ten years before killing Plagueis? We know that Plagueis at that time would have been even more powerful and would have mastered his ability to create life in the Force. Palpatine would have to have killed Plagueis during the events of the Clone Wars. Anakin would also have met Plagueis before Palpatine killed him. There's likely a parallel universe timeline where that happened.
I enjoy this series well done. A couple things I have been pondering of late. 1. Did anakin really have the ability to see the future in such detail or was it palpatine? It was always a little on the convenient side for me how it came and went only to serve the emperors needs. 2. Is there a significance to the emperors broach? Its quite ornate and looks like it could have a meaning of sorts, just wondering what that might be.
I don’t know if it was 7. He didn’t really do anything with Naat Lare, he barely did anything while Venamis was alive. Sidious had like 7 apprentices though.

Seriously? These never were apprentices. He sought them out and maybe even considered taking them as apprentice. But none of them ever even got a glimps of teaching.
Darth Plagueis was one of the best books I’ve ever read of any kind. It would totally make a sweet movie on its own. Also, it shows how Sidious had DECADES of training before becoming a Sith Lord himself, showing a difference in Vader’s training backstory of only having been Vader a short while before confronting his demons, like the Obi Wan fight and Padme’s death, as he was essentially rushed into it, and why Palps was a boss.

I thought plagues was going to make one of the apprentices his own apprentice as said but he killed two and threatened the other to never ponder the galaxy or he will kill him. I can see the evil in plagues and his brutality now.
