- The most ambitious build that I've build using “Faulty Logic”, as I used to call it.
This is equivalent to hoiks or hoiktronics, that became possible in 1.3.1 patch, but possibilities still stay mostly unexplored.
Unlike regular logic gates, faulty logic gates can be joined in more complex circuits and compute a lot faster.

It's not just about being smart. It's a mindset that you can work towards. Find something cool you want to do, learn how to do it and spend some free time (granted that you have free time) to make it happen. Being smart isn't necessary to be creative, it just makes things easier.

I thought this was gonna be the song itself and spent the better part of two minutes wondering when the hell they added tunable note blocks to the game. This is much more impressive.
There's a mod that added tuneable note blocks. Put together you can have this made completely in terraria. I would bow before anyone capable of such a feat.

Theres a mod for allowing bigger worlds too.
And one for allowing for wireless transmission and reception to drastically reduce the wiring size needed.
When tmodloader gets to 1.4, I'm having the longest most complex tmodloader series I've ever done. And bosses are only a small fraction of what I'm gonna do.

@@Rmysti Terraria's world data takes up surprisingly little space. Wires don't have an on or off state (They only toggle everything along their path when activated), so each color of wire only takes up one bit per block. In a large world filled completely with all 4 types of wire and actuators, that's only 12.6 megabytes.

@@acidgiraffes Minecraft is a behemoth in file size for worlds. For a single-player game, it's barely noticeable. But for multiplayer servers? World sizes can clock in at terabytes, depending on player traffic; even with limits.

@@biiill5259 honestly it's probably more like 1 bit... Each pixel is either completely on or off, with no color or brightness information. The grays you see in the video are simply a byproduct of Terraria's lighting system.

@@monsterupdatewhen Disregarding stuff like the video format, I guess you'd be right for the most part. There are gray parts like the glow around the sun that kinda make that fall apart though.

@@Shrekfromthehitmovieshrek Let's see. The display shown was 30(width) by 17(height). It could be larger, but that's what was shown.
That's 510 "pixels". The animation lasts roughly 3.5 minutes. It looks like its about 15-ish FPS, lets just say 10 to give the creator the benefit of the doubt. That equals 2100(lower range, remember) frames total.
Each frame has an additional 510 storage cells, so including the display, that's 1071510 individual storage cells. Just the cells themselves.
Let's assume they've gotten really fast, and they can build one storage cell in a single second. No wires, just the blocks. that would take 1071510 seconds, or over 12 days straight of just working.
Remeber, that's entirely possible, BUT
They still need to program every single cell, all 1071510 cells, which again, is on the LOWER END, wire EVERY.SINGLE. CELL, and create the giant circuit needed to control the frames and load them at a consistent rate.
OR, you could make a script that just gets the animation, looks at the frames that will be rendered, and use super easy methods to determine whether a pixel is on or off, and edit the world file to set those blocks correctly., which would probably put it closer to a weekend project.
I swear, Bad Apple can be played on ANYTHING these days.

Understanding Minecraft redstone and being able to make farms and such in that game feels like forcing yourself to understand how that game’s mechanics were created, and how to exploit them. Terraria’s wiring feels so much easier to learn than redstone

@PolySaken Both Minecraft and Terraria have their engineering in different ways. It’s just that learning and understanding the two is vastly different
In Minecraft, learning the ways of redstone should probably be a whole 4-year college with a degree or something, because you need a mastermind to understand all of that stuff
Terraria on the other hand, has a rather simplistic wiring life. You can make the things you want without having to research how everything works. Yeah, there are more complicated wiring tools in Terraria thanks to the 1.3.1 update, but a lot of times you won’t even need those

Jokes aside tho, making a calculator is actually more challenging algorythmically, a mechanism to play one specific thing like here definitely took a lot of effort, but is very simple when u get down to it, since it only has a trigger and one possible output
A calculator on the other hand has multiple inputs (3 for a simple calculation) and has to generate every output based on that
I don't mean to say this is low effort, but rather let people see how complicated a simple thing can be when all u have to work with is ones and zeroes
