😊id like to add that ive watched 6 other videos , but yours was by far the clearest, no nonsense ,straight to the point accurate one. Thank you.i followed your lead and now the wife is off my ass about it
This is such a specific and common issue, there SHOULD be a dealer recall ! But, excellent video bubba ! Your Modification is borderline genious ! Thanks for posting
Thank you -- this is the 2nd time I've used your video. This time I added the little piece of rubber tubing to prevent ball from popping out - hopefully there will not be a 3rd viewing!
@@12bitizthewaytogo92 Sorry, that I don’t recall. I just sort of eyeballed it for size and mashed the heck out of it to get it to stay. I did put a little JB Weld on it too.
Hey, colder than a well diggers butt here in west Michigan Jan. 2023 and my issue is the same except I got the door to close. Now the handle will not release the latch so I have to get the door open some how. Going to try a DIY slim-jim then try your procedure. Great video.
Great directions on how to address this issue! Our cable had broken so it's off to the breakers yard for me. Would it be easy to disconnect the cable at the opposite end of the handle?
I’m having the hardest time trying to disconnect the door handle wire to take the handle off. Is it a squeeze & pull or? It’s kicking my butt and it’s the easiest thing ever! Ugggggggggg
One is a ball in the other is a 90° shape. If I remember right on both of them you should just have to rotate it until the cable lines up with the little gap and then pull it up. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
I bought replacement handles, one with and one without the cable attached. I cannot open the door from the inside either. Is there something else that needs knowing? Thank you.

@@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 It seems like I might have two issues. The one you described in the video, plus a faulty door lock actuator. Could it be that if the actuator is in bad condition, the door won’t open from the outside? I should mention that the door opens just fine from the inside.
@@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 oh i accidentally removed the window lifter from the panel and now i can't tighten the cables, maybe you have a video on how to tighten the window lifter cables

Life saver. Thank you!!
The little ball was broken off the end of mine, but for now it's fixed with a ferrule end. No other parts needed.
Awesome
what ferrule did you use? have the same issue thanks!

I would take the door panel back off and make sure the cable is hooked up on both ends

I have the same issue. My driver’s door won’t open from the outside, and when the lock engages, it makes a terrible noise. Any advice?
If it is making a loud popping grinding noise like we need a door lock actuator

And you probably also have the exterior door handle problem also
