Nargacuga is Stealth, an ambush hunter. Barroth is, neither of those, Even Giginox (the only other Pseudo-wyvern of the same size) is better because it's super creepy and vomits it's young at you! And then we have Akantor and Ukanlos, Pseudo-wyvern who were mistaken for GODS upon their discovery and can hunt, and eat, ELDER DRAGONS. In comparison to these guys Barroth is HOT, or COLD, GARBAGE! Barroth was my first Pseudo-wyvern, and Tigrex and Narga beat it in every capacity.
Abyssal Nargacuga 1) You're one of those toxic ppl that ruin the MH community, ppl that think they're opinions are the only ones that matter, guess what, everyone has their own opinion, asshole 2) Barioth is a Sabertooth Wyvern that can breathe ice and make ice vortexes, Nargacuga is basically just a cougar that has a stretchy tail...oooooh...so interesting?...compared to the other amazing awesome insane monsters, it's pretty normal tbh

Sigilyph is classified as the "Avianoid" pokemon, implying that it LOOKS like a bird, but isn't one. I personally like to think that it can't naturally fly, but levitates with psionic powers, as it never flaps its wings in it's model.

in the 11th pokemon movie, at the end shaymin flies off with 8 other shaymin in unison, so 9 in total. and how many reindeer does santa have? 9 including rudolph
Yep, left over beta data. I wish they kept the bird type since bird Pokemon are unique enough and not all bird Pokemon fly. If both Grass and Bug can exist, there is no reason Bird and Flying cant exist.
Fairy is going to be the fun type, due to how the whole Faye thing works. although I'm surprised there isn't a Fairy/dragon type pokemon, Faerie dragons are a pretty big thing in DnD.
"Doves are just white pigeons." I keep telling my family that since forever and they just ignore me. Where I live our doves aren't white, they're brown for some reason and compared to pigeons, they have nothing different about them.
@Leon Peter Keates I'm expecting for the Dragon and Fairy videos, they will be the most interesting ones since contrary to the Bug type, the majority of Dragon and Fairy type Pokemon aren't actually dragons or fairies, at least in the generic way.
I actually think Oricorio are based off of Hawaiian Honeycreepers, which, like Darwin's finches, are endemic species to the Hawaiian islands all descended from a finch species. They even have honeycreeper bills! :O Also, since Alola has other Pacific island animals, they could be Birds of Paradise, too, hence the elaborate dances and showy appearance. (Tropius isn't a bird though, of course :P) Yayyy, you mentioned the awesome Hoatzin for Hawlucha!! I was hoping someone else would make that connection, too! And thanks for the TF2 Scout reference! That made me so happy! :D
Pinsir only opening it's wings when mega could be a nod to this beetle that it's wings evolved over time to be a hard shell on it's back, so it can survive being squashed, mega pokemon are unatural transformation of these creatures, so it's wings are probably painfully opened and so it can use them
*shows skarmory in the song as a sword bird* Gnoggin: alright lets talks about birds not mentioned in the song *shows skarmory again, but now it’s a condor*
No, Flying is the most inclusive, because there are basically two types of Flying moves, the ones that have to do with birds anatomy like Peck or Wing Attack, and the ones that are "air based" like Gust, Whirlwind, or Aeroblast. The fusion of bird and air is basically Flying.
Archeops are not lizards. They are dinosaurs, which are NOT lizards. Pterosaurs are ALSO not dinosaurs. Also, how dare you Forget ME! Im as strong as Gyarados :´[
You are right. I AM ACTUALLY STRONGER THAN GYARADOS. By 5 base points. Gyarados has the base stats of 540, as well as Kingdra and Blissey. I have 545. And Gyarados has more wasted points on his useless SpAtk, wheras I have only 50 Atk and spread my points better, as well as having a broken ability, a good typing and a much bigger movepool than Gyarados. bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_base_stats_(Generation_VII-present)
Are not. Reptiles are divided in two groups: Lepidosaurs, which includes lizards (including Mosasaurs), snakes (who are lizards), and possibly Plesiosaurs, and Archosaurs, which includes Crocodiles, Pterosaurs and Dinosaurs (including there birds).
I read that it's based on the tale of princess kaguya And kaguya was found by a bamboo farmer who cut down a bamboo shoot, hence why Celesteelas arm look like cut bamboo Also kaguya eventually returns to the moon, which is probably where the whole rocket inspiration comes from XD
PPG - Shadeshifter It’s also based off a famous space probe that Japan launched to the moon in 2007. The probe was OFFICIALLY named “SELENE” but the Japanese media gave it the nickname “Kaguya” in reference to the myth. So it’s basically just a clusterfuck of Japanese cultural references.
1:29 First of all, lizards are absolutely not the ancestors of birds. Their ancestors split off from eachother before the permian, with lizards first evolving around the middle Jurassic and birds right around the start of the Cretaceous. And second of all, feathers are absolutely not unique to birds. They can be traced back to even before the dinosaurs. They've been found on the maniraptorans (AKA the raptors), the tyranosaurs, some ceratopsians, kulindadromeus, and most recently several species of pterosaurs. And that's just a few of the animals fossilized under the proper conditions to preserve feathers, so there's pretty strong evidence all dinosaurs had them.
3:27 Again: no. It did pretty much confirm that birds had more reptilian ancestors, and it is a close relative of modern birds. But it's most likely not the last common ancestor of all birds, because it still had, you know, teeth and several other features birds didn't have. If it was the last common ancestor then that would mean birds lost those traits independently at least twice, meaning their similarities would be convergent, like whales and fish.
9:22 Jesus, I know you had twelve billion pokemon to research for this episode, but this is one of the most basic facts about pterosaurs. Pterosaurs and dinosaurs are very closely related, but they are not considered part of the same group.
Christian Schiller thank you I don’t how he is still making these simple mistakes especially for a channel that prides itself on its scientific analysis and explanations of video games.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a Dragonite should be able to fly. It's wings are too small to get it's fat body off the ground. The Dragonite, of course, flies anyway. Because Pokemon don't care what humans think is impossible.
Dinosaurs are not more bird than reptile. Reptile is a paraphyletic term that includes all non-avian dinosaurs. It's not the most useful term and somewhat dated but some dinos are definitely included. Birds are a monophyletic clade. That means a common ancestor (usually seen as Archaeopteryx) and all of its descendants.
Birds are avian dinosaurs, other dinosaurs are not avian dinosaurs Birds are technically considered reptilians Birds have scales, feathers are produced from the same tissue scales come from Birds share more in common with theropod dinosaurs Depending on what type of dinosaur you're looking at it could either be lizard-hipped or bird-hipped So you're both right?
They really aren't, though. As I've explained, the reptile taxon is paraphyletic. At least traditionally. Birds are seen as distinct from reptiles, really just by definition. That is why in taxonomy and cladistics, we don't really use it (unless maybe as a vague descriptor). I mean, maybe some palaeontologists would disagree (by proposing a change of the clade's definition) but everyone whose lectures I've sat in and everyone I've personally worked with seemed to think this way. That's why you won't find "Reptilia" in any current cladistic tree.
The bird hip or lizard hip thing may not mean much in terms of being related to birds. Theropods have lizard hips, ornithischians don't. Maybe the traditional cladistic tree must be amended (as was suggested in that paper that made the rounds, recently) but it was just a phylogenetic cluster analysis based on all characters that species may display. What weight you give each characteristic in that analysis can impact the resulting tree dramatically. Which is not to say the new tree is wrong but it is certainly highly debated and shouldn't be taken as truth just because one author (or a team of them) got this result once. I mean, this is far from the actual discussion here but just an explanation for bird hip and lizard hip not necessarily meaning closer to birds or not.
@@asherdevin well, if we are going by lore, santa's reindeer fly. Although it is weird that it is small, and based on spring/summer intead of christmas time.

Flying should be “air” type
It’s more accurate and inclusive
No, Flying is the most inclusive, because there are basically two types of Flying moves, the ones that have to do with birds anatomy like Peck or Wing Attack, and the ones that are "air based" like Gust, Whirlwind, or Aeroblast.
The fusion of bird and air is basically Flying.

Loved the intro. Your singing was not bad mate.

Pterosaurs arn't dinosaurs... They are flying reptiles unlike dinosaurs witch are more bird that reptile...
Sense birds are just avian dinosaurs.
Birds are avian dinosaurs, other dinosaurs are not avian dinosaurs
Birds are technically considered reptilians
Birds have scales, feathers are produced from the same tissue scales come from
Birds share more in common with theropod dinosaurs
Depending on what type of dinosaur you're looking at it could either be lizard-hipped or bird-hipped
So you're both right?
Birds are reptiles though.
Shaymin skyform is a reindeer, not a dog
It looks like a dog though. And reindeer can't fly either. And it's equally weird for a hedgehog to become a reindeer too.
