Hi I really like this video series. This was a fun video, and it was cool to see new pokémon as well as some of my old favorites from the anime and from childtime playthroughs. That being said, as a physics teacher I have to object to some of the AC vs DC claims made in the video. Specifically the AC category. I'd strongly argue that all electric type attacks are DC. DC generators exist and to my knowledge pretty much all turn a rotation into DC. There are several ways of doing this, including using conductive brushes or using a commutator. Many of these generators (concrete example: a dynamo) use magnets. So neither rotation nor magnets necessarily implies AC. Now that means those pokémon could be either. But, I'd argue that they are all DC. This is because of the attacks: * Pretty much all special electric attacks are discharges. A surplus of electrons (or possibly ions, but that wouldn't change my point) moves from the electric pokémon to it's enemy. The net movement of the charge has 1 direction, does not return to the electric type, so these attacks are clearly all DC. (Thundershock, Thunderbolt and Thunder.) * As for physical moves, I looked up Volt Tackle in the anime first to be sure. The pokémon charges itself with electricity which gets transferred to the other pokémon on contact. It's very similar to the discharge of the special attacks, except it doesn't go through air. But it's still DC. * As for pokémon like the Electrike line's "using electricity to power muscles", one might think that that could be AC due to the muscle switching between contracting and relaxing. This is biomechanically incorrect however, as the only signal such muscles understand is "contract". The direction of the current doesn't matter in this case: if electricity goes through muscle fiber it contracts. Relaxing is done by not sending a current, and stretching happens because muscles on the opposite side of the bone contract, and the bone pulls the muscle. So these currents are also DC. Sorry for the long comment. I hope this adds something to the video.
14:37 this is exactly the kind of random hilariousness I love about your channel, this is the moment that made me subscribe after a long time of stalking 😂
He'd probably sort them into those based on Oriental dragons, those based on European dragons and the other category (non-draconic Pokémon that has the Dragon typing such as Mega Ampharos and Exeggutor: Alola Form; or draconic Pokémon that don't fit either category) with an honourable mention towards Gyarados.
Some oriental dragons have an snake form, and are able to fly due to their high magic power. An example of this types of dragons is Rayquaza, which pretty much fits the use of said emoji, since the one you refer, is an European dragon.

7:55 types arent always cut and dry, and some things get mixed together under the same type. There is no Light type because its already part of another type. Psychic. Light screen is psychic I think. also necrozoma, a psychic legendary, pretty much a prism/eclipse.
Let me try for Tapu Koko since he's a favorite..... My theory is Koko is based more on the island he (For those that don't know roosters are only male) protects rather than on the Tapu. Melemele island holds the largest city of all the island that's the mkst diverse as it's a direct game counterpart to Oahu meaning a place of Gathering. Due to it being so diverse and welcoming it seems more advanced than the others and even the games other NPCs compare the island to being more alive, busy, and technologically advanced to the other island. Professor Kukui said he even built the League in the mountains to help Ula Ula continue to grow (since the last attempt at that - a mall- had been destroyed by Tapu Bulu). Out of all the islands Melemele has had the most change in welcoming actual change. The others seem to stagnate or caught in traditions above all else. Tapu has brought enlightenment and you can see through it's ability of Electric Terrain that make Pokemon Wake up. It wants to be new it wants to change. Unlile the other Tapus it interacts more with people aside from being secluded or just playing around. It saves them and entrusts power into those that can change the island praxis. I feel that's why it can also be known as the guardian of war. 1.) Because war advances a civilization to create new technology and change ideals in order to strive And 2.) Because it might not be in the one army vs another army tyoe of war. It might a war to progress. Tapu Koko understands that the islands must change and therefore does not interfere with humans and aides them when ultra beasts appear. It's a war for the new.
Tapu Koko actually pulls from more than just Hawaiian legends. As the tapus are all very totem pole looking in their design, Tapu Koko actually pulls from the legends of the thunderbird. the bird at the top of native american totem poles, a supernatural being that represents strength and power. the thunderbird is able to throw lightning and cause thunder by flapping its wings. this would explain tapu koko's electric type, and why it has a thing that looks like a bird.
I actually like the Pikaclones. It's basically a tradition by now (like bipedal Fire starters and MAYBE Meowth regional variants now), and many of them are SUPER adorable (like my favorite Pikaclone, Emolga). This isn't meant to be a rant, just my humble opinion and an observation to go along with it. Have an awesome everything! C:
Little theory about emolga and how it uses electricity to help it fly, maybe it could be using a kind of ion propulsion, creating differing charges on either sides of it's body to have personal air currents. I mean, it explains why it flies so well, normal rodents like the sugar glider do just that, they glide, unlike emolga who is always seen flying.
Many people are disappointed with Magneton for just being 3 Magnemites together. The probable reason they come together is that when Magnemite levels up, their magnetic force increases and becomes strong enough to attract 2 more Magnemites.
Stunfisk also takes inspiration from the stargazer fish. Some species (like the uranoscopidae) have an electric organ near their eyes which can produce a 50 volts to scare predators.
I might actually be able to explain tapu koko. often in totem poles, one of the face things used in them is a depiction of the thunder bird. a mythical creature that is often considered a being of strength and power. this goes hand in hand with Tapu Koko being based on the war god, and its dance being one akin to a warrior's dance. the thunderbird can throw lightning and cause thunder by flapping its wings. this is likely why tapu koko is electric type.
This videos has the absolutely best "Please subscribe" plug I've ever witnessed!! Kudos, bloody kudos to you for this masterful plug. Plus, it is more than adequate to plug in such a subtle manner since this is the Electric video.
If you're assuming that I said a video on ice types needs to be made I humbly inform you that I do in fact already know about the ice type video. I was actually referring to the original commenter's point with the dragons and "all the flying types". Besides, there are ice types (albeit like 4 pokemon) that can learn thunderbolt, so there's that ig. I guess rock types generally outclass ice types but if you're looking for a pokemon that can do both ice types are pretty cool (no pun intended).
Also Greek. Greek and Latin are the bases for a lot of Western languages (French, English, Spanish, and Italian, mostly. German might have some, but that's a story for another day).
I really like your description of the Eelektross line as being, well, electric eels, but I also can't help but see the uncanny resemblance of the creepy Lamprey in Eelektross and Eelektrik, which of course are like "fish" (not true fish of course) versions of leeches. That would also lend to the part where they leech electricity from other sources, too. Also, when you list off several Poke'mon, I can't help but liken it to you sounding like the Poke' Rap. XD
And so everyone knows, we are going to do all the types of course. :)

@@AyNaro4277 With all due respect, I asked to correct me if I was wrong on the pronunciation. I write "zeb-stricka" and "zeb-strike-a" to highlight the pronunciation. I know how it is written. The name of the pokemon was on-screen when he was talking about it.

Hi
I really like this video series.
This is because of the attacks:
* Pretty much all special electric attacks are discharges. A surplus of electrons (or possibly ions, but that wouldn't change my point) moves from the electric pokémon to it's enemy. The net movement of the charge has 1 direction, does not return to the electric type, so these attacks are clearly all DC. (Thundershock, Thunderbolt and Thunder.)
* As for physical moves, I looked up Volt Tackle in the anime first to be sure.

Do an episode on all Dragon Types explained.🐍
He'd probably sort them into those based on Oriental dragons, those based on European dragons and the other category (non-draconic Pokémon that has the Dragon typing such as Mega Ampharos and Exeggutor: Alola Form; or draconic Pokémon that don't fit either category) with an honourable mention towards Gyarados.
ok but why did you use the snake emoji
a dragon emoji exists you know
Some oriental dragons have an snake form, and are able to fly due to their high magic power. An example of this types of dragons is Rayquaza, which pretty much fits the use of said emoji, since the one you refer, is an European dragon.
Beast King i guess so

Electross is more of a Lamprey but with Electric Eel adaptations, still close tho.

I love this series! Great job!
1.) Because war advances a civilization to create new technology and change ideals in order to strive
And 2.) Because it might not be in the one army vs another army tyoe of war. It might a war to progress. Tapu Koko understands that the islands must change and therefore does not interfere with humans and aides them when ultra beasts appear. It's a war for the new.
MrAstrothousand98 ^Honestly, very good
TAPU KOKO IS NOT A HE, TAPU KOKO IS AN IT! ALL POKEMON ARE TO BE CALLED "IT" EVEN IF THEY HAVE GENDERS!
@@Amelia4111 Why do you get mad so fast at everyones comments? Chill man, its just what he thinks.
14:17 damn that was brutal. He really hates Wingull.
0:05 oh yeah, it was Pikachu that was catching our eyes
PRAISE THE OMNISSIAH
Lol, I was surprised by the 40k reference in this video
I actually like the Pikaclones. It's basically a tradition by now (like bipedal Fire starters and MAYBE Meowth regional variants now), and many of them are SUPER adorable (like my favorite Pikaclone, Emolga). This isn't meant to be a rant, just my humble opinion and an observation to go along with it. Have an awesome everything! C:
well this video seems pretty grounded on it's facts.
10:54 Zeroara is my favourite pokemon
[insert furry joke here]
Little theory about emolga and how it uses electricity to help it fly, maybe it could be using a kind of ion propulsion, creating differing charges on either sides of it's body to have personal air currents. I mean, it explains why it flies so well, normal rodents like the sugar glider do just that, they glide, unlike emolga who is always seen flying.
Eelectross is more of a lamprey
Dayala Singh yeah, it has a lampreys sucker like mouth with similar teeth, and the spots on its side near its eyes resemble a lampreys gills.
Nol OfTheQuest yeah
Yeah it does definitely have lamprey elements, but it's still probably based on the electric eel as well.
Many people are disappointed with Magneton for just being 3 Magnemites together. The probable reason they come together is that when Magnemite levels up, their magnetic force increases and becomes strong enough to attract 2 more Magnemites.
Yeah, but like, the Beldum line's iteration of this concept is significantly more creative.
yooo 6:15 with looker being there and it looking like a spy movie epic.

Stunfisk also takes inspiration from the stargazer fish. Some species (like the uranoscopidae) have an electric organ near their eyes which can produce a 50 volts to scare predators.

@@bruh_bruh_the_bruhest_bruh VGC champion
I might actually be able to explain tapu koko.
often in totem poles, one of the face things used in them is a depiction of the thunder bird. a mythical creature that is often considered a being of strength and power. this goes hand in hand with Tapu Koko being based on the war god, and its dance being one akin to a warrior's dance. the thunderbird can throw lightning and cause thunder by flapping its wings. this is likely why tapu koko is electric type.
I loved how you make a reference to 40K and the video had 40k views when I watched the video
I actually found another person who gets the reference! "It is better to die for the emperor than to live for yourself"
Ok this video made me think we need a physical electric priority move and a electric type recovery move.

We got a physical electric priority move on let's go pikachu I think

One of my favorite types. They’re strong against a significant number of dragons and all the pseudo-dragons like gyrados and all the flying types
...rock?
I see your claim and offer you Ice types.
Mara Thana
but gyardos is netural to ice [and it's been done]
If you're assuming that I said a video on ice types needs to be made I humbly inform you that I do in fact already know about the ice type video. I was actually referring to the original commenter's point with the dragons and "all the flying types". Besides, there are ice types (albeit like 4 pokemon) that can learn thunderbolt, so there's that ig. I guess rock types generally outclass ice types but if you're looking for a pokemon that can do both ice types are pretty cool (no pun intended).
Electric because many drsgon types are also flying
Ampharos’s name also has the root “Phare” inside of it - French for Lighthouse!
XD
Great thumbnail!
