Polly was one of the gems of my childhood! I'm a 2000s baby, so I grew up with the generation of Polly being average-sized, not compact, so when I found out how tiny they're supposed to be, I was shooketh. I think I still have the dolls with the magnetized clothing!
As a kid I was so into the concept of the 2010 cartoon versions of the characters having their hair color magically change whenever it got wet or when it was cold. Water usually gave them a bright color while cold was pastels. I was so jealous
I grew up with Polly Pocket being bigger, with the rubber clothes. I had loved the small car that could turn into a limo with a jacuzzi in the back. I had only found out about Polly Pocket's orignal look after I had grown up and reached high school. I honestly would have loved the original compact version. The new ones don't seem small enough.
I remember growing up with Polly Pocket during the 2000s. I remember a few of the pieces of clothes I had ripping and basically being unwearable, especially the shoes. I remember the flash games online being fun too.
I never really had much exposure to Poly Pocket as a kid, but I did have Toys from it's boy directed counterpart, Mighty Max. Pretty sure I still have a couple playsets from that somewhere, including one which was like a skull that opened up into an evil castle.
In Denmark it wasn't until Polly entered her large plastic toy with rubber clothes era in the early 2000's that she arrived and was commercially available. Some small older sets could be bought, but they were from specialty stores. As a result, Polly primarely exists in Danish minds a non-pocket-sized toy. Unless you bothered studyingher history and suddnely her name made sense again. She stopped being a big seller when she hit her magnet clothes era (not the magnet furniture and walls era, still went strong during that) Me and my sister were crasy about her, and we still have our toys. Only ever lost like 3 rubber clothes items (1 bathing suit torn, 2 shoes squeezed so much together they fused), but I did loose the glitter and glitter glue from her house set and the clay/playfough from the mall set. But then again, stuff like that just dissappears even if you care a lot about them. Because my sister and I lived in a house where it was okay for both boys and girls to play with both all toys and not strictly theone matching your gender I got a good feel for the toys and had a ton of fun as a small boy. I was immensly glad that my mom let me play with girly toys simply just cus I got to explore what I liked playing with (My favoritetoy was LEGO and still is. I own a lot of mixed gendered LEGO sets)
My only contact with Polly Pocket as a child was the 2010 website- I was obsessed with the games in there, specially one where you could decorate a building/terrace(?) And also a cousin had a few playsets, and I thought the little drinks they came with for the dolls that could stick on surfaces were really cool xd
I grew up with early 2000s Polly Pocket and I remember loving it. Also, I started reading Nevermore because of your video and I'm completely in love with the story and characters.
Huge Polly pocket fan! Like I have 120 vintage Polly’s, books, jewelry, shirts, bags and more. I like the vintage ones because they are just so cute and the detail was amazing! They took time and care to each compact! I’m happy to say I’m glad we are getting new Polly pockets like the keepsake collection and the friends themed one.
Polly Pocket was my childhood man. I started out with the bigger ones that had rubber or magnet clothes, but I also had the tiny ones. My mom still had a bunch of those old pocket sized ones they were so cool. Also Jesus those ads really hit home, I have so many fond memories of them and related to Polly Pocket in general. I didn’t know they had a show tho xD Also, holy shit I’m early! 😂 Edit: spelling & additional
Most of the Polly Pockets I had were 2000s era hand-me-downs from my cousin that I only played with at her house. She had the car and the purse-closet sets. I eventually convinced my aunt to buy me the ski resort. It's the best play set I've ever had.
I had a ton of the early 2000's toys. Two of the summer beach sets and the dog walking set. I also had one of the magnetic sets (still have it). The coolest one I had? A tiny strawberry themed compact one. There was SO MUCH DETAIL.
oh sweet sweet pink crystal ball polly pocket set... how i miss thee... the little swans that rotated around the island and the little tree hammock that polly could nap in next to the bird house. the treasure chest to hold the tiny gems and crown stand. the flip up canopy bed and the entire top bit made of molded translucent pink plastic to look like the entire room was made of gems... ah memories...
My family got a whole bunch of the compacts and older sets from a coworker at my mom's work, so we had a bunch when I was little. They got thrown out eventually, but I actively asked for more modern playsets throughout my childhood. I had the chewy plastic clothes, the magnet clothes portable playset, one of the water park vans(?) They were great.
You just unlocked so many memories. I remember my sisters and I watched the old Polly World movie all the time and I went to the website so many times to play the games and watch the webisodes. Good times :) Edit: By the way, the full Polly World movie was uploaded to TH-cam by someone and its still up I believe ;)
I grew up with the first generation of Polly Pocket toys, had no idea there was animated episodes / series of them! My favourite toy was a play set that consisted of a piece of "land" that had a house, a swing and a lake on it, with the doll being magnetised and the playset having a little remote which moved the doll around being able to make her do various stuff like going to bed and alike without ever needing to lift her up with your hands. It was great and as a kid I was convinced it was some sort of magic since it was too advanced mechanics for me to grasp xD
seeing the plane playset flash by at the very beginning triggered an insane amount of childhood memories lmaooo i had SO much polly pocket and that plane specifically was a favorite of mine
I distinctly remember having a couple Polly pocket dolls as a kid but more than anything I remember playing games constantly on the Polly pocket website
I'm so old I had the Polly Pocket board game. You and three other Pollys drove around in little cars going to each other's birthday parties and giving presents and collecting balloons. I'm pretty sure whoever gave out all their presents and collected all the balloons first won. My fav. Polly Pocket was the orange hexagon/octogon??? that was an apartment and had a pool. Runner-up was the Swan Lake heart compact with the prince. They re-released it and I got one for me and one for my mom. I still have the original heart compact but sadly my fav. orange one is lost to the ages.
I got into Polly Pocket around the time the first movie was released, I remember having the roller coaster play set, and how rubbery those dresses were. I remembering loving the webisode series, always checking when the next one would come out. I remember after a while they kept making new iterations of them where they kept picking off her friends, until she was left with about four (not including the boy). And then the newest cartoon kept that trend by leaving her with only three. I’m glad to see you also thought the cutants were a good idea, I really liked them as a kid and was sad when they just stopped doing them. Also, have you considered checking out he website or the games? I remember those being super fun as kid, my greatest achievement was being able to complete the roller coaster game on my second try.
I was a child in the early 2000’s and we never bought any brand new, but my mom found a huge tub of them either at a yardsale or Goodwill, and we LOVED them! I remember they were not the super tiny ones, they were the ones with TONS of rubber clothing. We had so many accessories too. It was a blast to just switch the clothes and make outfits. We had a stage playset to play with. Idk if that was pollypocket or something else.
2000s Polly pocket with rubber clothes and larger play sets were my childhood! I remember we had a mall and airplane set and she had rubber wigs so we could change her hair! So much fun ❤
i was part of the era of rubber clothes and magnetic clothes. i had the hair salon playset, the extendable limo with the pool in the back, the quick change playset with the magnetic clothes, and even a shopping game! I also remember playing polly pocket games on the mattel website along with barbie and myscene games.
I had a ton of the OG Polly Pockets when I was a kid and totally didn't even realize there was a show lol. I watched them evolve over the years but never liked all the newer iterations of them because they were just too big. 🤷♂️
I was a Late 2000’s, early 2010’s Polly Pocket kid. I absolutely loved the mix and match aspect with them. Since you could shuffle heads and clothes. The shoes were the first to go missing, then, since I was an audhd with severe Pica, I loved to chew on the rubber clothes (great flavor and texture, 100% would recommend [please don’t eat plastic kids]) so they were lost, and finally I lost the bodies, so I just had a bunch of decapitated heads on my toys drawer.
I was OBESESSED with the 2000s polly pocket animations when I was like 4-5 years old even though I had the early 2010s toys Also off topic but I love your rouge shirt!!
I grew up with the pollyworld version, I had all the magnet playsets (never ate anything) and loads of the rubber clothing versions. I even had the pollyworld soundtrack and would spend hours on the polly pocket website playing their silly flash games. Iconic honestly
The 2000s playesets are nostogic for me. I still have a couple of my old favorites, and some of the accessories. My aunt - who is only 4 years older than me - have several of the playsets and lots of dolls. We loved playing together!
I had some of the compacts but then they changed to the "mid-sized" ones and I did have a few of those but if you thought it was hard keeping Barbie/MH/EAH clothing together it was near impossible to keep track of Polly's tiny accessories!
I remember wanting them but not getting any (but hasn't stopped me from loving miniatures and wanting to make dioramas). But I remember a friend having a couple off-brands, a jungle and a rain forest, which in my opinion were much cooler, and still do. I found video here on TH-cam where someone made a Zelda TotK Polly Pocket, and I really want to try that myself 😄
I used to watch an episode of Polly Pocket in a Barbie movie I believe. It was cute but also wacky I guess. It was the newer one with cgi. Honestly I probably would not get into Polly Pocket due to the fact, the toys themselves are too small. I like the 12 inch dolls more like ever after high, monster high, Barbie, Moxie and Liv dolls.
I KNOW WHICH ONE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! I WATCHED IT TOO! I think it was Barbie Rapunzel or The Christmas Carol one, and it was Polly on roller skates while her guy bsf (Blonde Jimmy Neutron Ken knock off) was recording her with a video camera. But Polly was just skating away the entire time while her friends were having terrible times like getting covered in flour.
@@Greek_Irene yeah it was called Best day Ever I think. Probably one of the more modern barbie movies I'm going to guess Barbie a Fairy Secret? just a modern one if I am correct.
I slightly got to experience every generation's toy(bc my nephews and cousins had those before I was even born), but I mostly grew up with the 2000s and 10s online videogames and its web series. Didn't have many Poly Pocket toys but hey, I appreciated what I had. Also, for me, I didn't have any problems with the Cartoon styles, I ate it all up ngl. Exept for the new one, it's kinda gray-ish for me idk, but the toys do look cool
The best Polly Pocket set EVER is the 1995 huge Cinderella castle Polly Pocket set! It was insane and I played with it constantly! But other than that, I was born in '93 so I had a lot of the small compact sets. I only had one of the versions that you can dress in the plastic clothes but those were fun! Felt like a different toy entirely though. Kind of hoping maybe they'll do a live-action Polly Pocket movie since Barbie seems like it's going to be such a massive success!
I had Polly Pockets (2000s version) and I loved playing with them. My dream present was the jumbo jet and when I got it for Christmas, I was over the moon
Im a 2000s baby, but the 90s toys are what i played with as a kid. I didnt get the experience of chewing on the plastic clothes, but i did just hold them in my mouth. I loved the compacts, they were so cool
All I remember about Polly Pocket from my childhood was chewing on the squishy plastic dresses to pretend they were gum. I guess it's a good thing I didn't have any of the magnet outfits lol
My sister had one or two polly pocket products, I liked chewing the clothes, as one does. When McDonald's had the Polly Pocket toys that linked together we tried to get them all and got a lot of doubles.
I had the Disney princess version, and I have clear memories of going to the bowling alley (my sister was on the bowling team) and hanging out with other younger kids playing with them! Looking back, I think one of them stole my Prince...
Wow those original compacts look really cool! The only polly pockets I ever had were the magnetic clothes and I adored them. I had the quick change limo and I think two of the friends that came with a stand and some more clothes. I was pretty surprised the first time I learned about the silicone/rubber clothes. Just from the pictures, the original compacts are the best. Although the magnetic clothes are top notch (aside from the choking hazard and being easy to lose). I remember loving how quick I could change their outfits since that was something that always messed with "stories" whenever I played with my barbies. Plus there were magnetic hair pieces too!
The chewability of polly rubber clothes were truly a nostalgic, interestingly not bad, distinguiched experience to have had the privilege to live with.
I really miss when Polly Pocket had a mix of being serialized and episodic at the same time with season 1 of the 2018 reboot. It's a shame on how it ended up to be a soft reboot with major changes and how it turned from 22 minute episodes into 11 minute episodes and getting rid of the villains from a cliffhanger ending.
As a 2000´s kid, my sister and I had so much big size polly pocket, now that I’m a grown up I realise how lucky we were to have just so many toys. We also had mini polly pocket at my grandma it was our thing back then to go hunt those “relics of the past” as I used to see them in “empty your attic” kind of market (in France, that’s when people gather in organised event were they can sell stuff they don’t use anymore and it’s a treasure hunt every time, I think it’s called garden sell in America but I only ever see one family do it at a time in tv shows when in France it’s all of a marketplace or a few streets that are dedicated to this sort of thing) Anyway I used to love mini polly pockets, this video brought back so many memories
My family recently discovered the new Polly Pocket series a week ago. Despite growing up in the 2000s, I never really got into the Polly Pocket shows or movies. I didn't even have the toys (I don't remember why. I guess I just wasn't into them at the time.), so I was pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoyed the new series. My 5 year old brother is ESPECIALLY fond of the show.
An adult-oriented line of bespoke polly pocket compact collectibles would be a fantastic marketing move. I feel like not nearly enough toy companies are utilitizing the adult nostalgia market, especially collectibles.
I grew up with the bigger ones with stretchy plastic clothes. That was the "real" Polly Pocket for me when I was a kid. xD But I also had some of the compacts and they're cute.
My cousin used to collect polly pocket toys, from the compact era, she also had a lot of houses, she started passing down some to me (the ones she didn't like i suppose), she had given me a heart shaped compact and jasmin's palace from alladin (i don't if it was the actual disney franchise), my favorite was a disco club compact that played the theme song from one piece for some reason, then i had a fairy house compact with 2 fairy polly pockets, with paper wings, then the next era, the bigger ones, that's when i bought a lot, i had a cruise ship, i had a house, i had magnet clothes, i had magnet hair, everything, then i got older and just stopped, i got into my little pony again, the g4 era and some g5... anyway i love your videos
i was part of the rubber/magnetic clothes generation! i even had the radio thing you showed in the video, i'm pretty sure i still have it stored somewhere. my family didn't have enough money back then to buy me all those cute little toys, but i remember that one of my mother's friends had like EVERY SET and clothes and accesories and dolls and i was so amazed to see them all and be able to play with them, it's one of my core memories!
I have a huge collection of 90's polly. The sad thing is that I lost most of the dolls. I remember loving them, beeing able to bring two or three with me easily was amazing
I still have some of my old Polly Pocket toys, from the compacts to the big plastic clothes era. I also had like this magnetic mat with magnetic Polly's that could change outfits but stuck to everything magnetic. The worst thing about Polly Pocket were they were so breakable. The old tiny Polly could snap in half so easily, her arms would break off, and her face would disappear over time. You're right about the plastic clothes from the 2000's as well. The sleeves and pants were the worst offenders. But Polly Pocket was like a top tier toy from my childhood. It was Barbie, Beanie Babies, and Polly Pocket.
I was into Polly Pocket a lot in my Preschool-Elementary age. I think I got into it during the Ponytail Era (TM). I know I had a few of the playsets like the beach one shown in the video, an airplane, and probably others I don't remember at this point. The dolls were really cool to me and I had a lot of fun dressing them up for various imaginary scenes. If I was still into playing with them when the anime appearance change happened, I wasn't buying the products anymore so I never noticed.
To me Polly Pocket was my whole childhood. I and my sister used to have this thing where we would buy very specific toys and only those toys, for her it was My Little Pony and for me it was Polly Pocket. As someone who was born mid 2000s I grew up with the average-sized ones and I had so many playsets. I had 3 pools, 5-6 cars (one of them had a mini pool/jacuzzi in the back that could make bubbles if you pressed a button) and 2 houses I think. I had everything that was possible to get in my country, which, to be fair, wasn't a lot since Polly Pocket wasn't that well-known where I'm from. You didn't mention it in your video, but the dolls (at least the ones I grew up with) had a removable head. I and my sister used to love that feature a lot. I remember at some point we had dressed all the bodies with different clothing and popped the heads of like maniacs, keeping the 'outfits' in one box and the heads in another so that when we were playing we didn't have to go through the chore of changing the characters clothing, we just had it at the ready by popping the head back in. Another reason this was beneficial was because, after a while, the clothing, which was made from plastic, would tear and rip. I lost a lot of my favourite clothes that way. I also had one Polly that had a drawn on swim suit and rings on her upper arm. She was from a specific playset, a pool one. There was a feature in which she is supposed to spin (?) I'm not sure how to describe it. But anyway there were long downhill parallels that you put her upper arms in and she spins as she goes downhill. I'm pretty sure her hair colour changed too, a pink streak appeared I'm pretty sure. I remember it well because, A, it was the first playset I got when I was 6-7 after my first music exams (piano and theory) (I crushed it btw 10/10), and B, during the summer my mum would let me and my sister to go outside our house on the outside table and actually put water in the pool to play, it one of my favourite memories although they didn't happen often. The other pool isn't that interesting. It was themed after a tropical island or rainforest I'm pretty sure. There was this fake plastic 'vine' that went all around the pool that you could 'connect' your doll to and it would spin around until it reaches the end. And it also had a mini pool for the pets I'm pretty sure, I got it a year after the first one for the exact same reason. It was really fun to play with. For cars, I remember having lots of them. The first one I got was a yellow one with pink details that had a small blue pool/jacuzzi which I mentioned before. The doors opened as well and I'm pretty sure you could move the steering wheel as well. I think all of the cars also had safety belts and that car had pink ones while the seats were blue. I think I got it for my birthday? Either that or it was a pity thing during my sister's birthday because I was a jealous kid that refused to show it even though it was pretty obvious. The other car was a purple one with a green half-detachable roof (you could only detach the front but the back stayed in). I got it from my birthday from my godmother. The other ones weren't really special and I don't remember them well, probably because I wasn't attached to them like the other ones. I remember having another blue one (?) with purple stars and it was a rockstar kind of thing? I also had a small orange one with only two seats and purple stars and seatbelts. I don't remember the last one. For houses, I remember vividly only one because I always used it while my sister and friends used the other one. The one I remember had so many colours. It was pink, it was orange, it was green, it was blue, it was everything. It had two floors. I think you show an add of it actually (timestamp: 02:36). I used to play with it a lot. I don't remember when or why I got it though. I wish I could give details on the other house but my memory is really shitty, especially during my childhood ages 0-14, so I can't remember much. One thing that irritated me to no end, however, was that there were no guy dolls. I and my sister were forced to have the brunettes with short hair act like guys and all the blond pony-tailed ones as girls. I always wished they made guy dolls. Maybe they did and I never knew about them because I didn't have access to the internet. Anyway, all and all, Polly Pocket is my childhood that I will always cherish. I used to get the 'big' presents (playsets) as rewards once a year if I did well in my piano exams, so I will always have a soft spot for the Polly Pocket line. I must say though, I never was a fan of when they decided to give 'plot' to Polly with the whole shrinking down. I mostly didn't like cause it was something new and back then I was in middle school so I hated everything and I felt like they changed Polly too much since I grew up watching Polly as an adventurous sporty girl, not really a nerd. I didn't really except to write so much about it, I'm actually surprised I had so much to say, but yeah, guess that's what happens when you hyper-fixate on one doll line all your childhood lol. Anyway, amazing review as always! I'm really happy to see someone talking about my childhood hyper-fixation since it was never really popular from where I'm from. Sending lots of love
god, i remember the old rubbery-plastic clothing it was the absolute worse idea for my mom to give it to an ND kid... I chewed on those things to death lmao they ripped super easily that became a great stim, until i realized they were broke and wouldn't work anymore.
I feel like I just had a stroke because I looked up yesterday too see if you had a video on Poly Pocket after watching your Storm Hawks one, and you have answered my prayers by a sheer universal coincide.
15:11 I had one of those magnetized Polly pockets and play sets. My mom literally took it, got superglue, and straight up glued each and every magnet. It probably took hours of work to do this. She also told me if I ate one, my next meal would be with my uncle (who died a decade prior). But hey, it worked and the magnets never fell out again!
I had the 2000s polly pocket with the rubbery plastic clothes, and as a little kid I would chew on the clothes like gum. Never swallowed them but I did that for way too long and now I think polly pocket I think of those clothes
Finding the 2010 polly pocket episodes feel like shiny hunting in pokémon go for hours on end. just when you think you found it it either disappears or our back at square 1. its said that they had to change it considering the theme song and website were such good memories now its like i have to go on a manhunt tto find the games to play all over again
I remember my friend having Polly World on dvd and I was SO jealous. I would go over and if we didn't feel like playing with Bratz we'd watch Polly Pocket...
Yooooo i still have all my old Polly Pocket compacts from the 90s!!! They go for a lot of money on ebay these days but they're so cool idk if I'll ever sell mine, they still bring me so much joy. 💖
There really was something special about the original 90s Polly Pocket toys. Chocking hazard for toddlers aside, they were designed to create these tiny little fantasy worlds for your imagination to explore. For a TV show maybe they should have gone with the lockets transporting you to different magical locations or worlds, because that's what it felt like playing with them. Like Kingdom Hearts but simpler. I had one where the doll came in a heart gem locket. There were locket sized mini playsets, but this was just to hold the doll. It looked like she was encased in the gem when she was in it. Also had a couple of the compacts and have great memories admiring the ones my friends had. In kindergarten I got swindled by a neighbor to give her my gorgeous Polly Pocket pencil case, it was so cool (Google it). It was a dollhouse-type playset in the lid of the pencil case. Still kinda hurts thinking about it over 20 years later lol. Disney also had similar toys for their IPs. One of my favourite childhood toys was a Cinderella's castle that came with tiny plastic Polly Pocket-like dolls. It was GORGEOUS. It was small considering it's a whole castle, but so many little details and hidden secrets. Had beautifully detailed little rooms and areas that referenced scenes in the movie. It also had windows and little lights that could light up in certain areas. The beauty of miniature toys is how much you had to play with without being overwhelmed with how much space it took up or being too bulky to play with.
I looked up the Cinderella castle, turns out it was by the original Polly Pocket creators Bluebird. Those guys working at Bluebird were amazing, their toys felt like art pieces.
I had two of the tiny doll compacts. The green flower one was a pool with a fold out pink water slide. The pink heart was way bigger, a castle and grounds set with light up parts and a bunch of rooms inside the unfoldable castle. I think that one had a little horse-drawn carriage.
one of the best birthday gifts i ever got in my life was for my 8th birthday, the morning before school i got to open one gift and it was the polly pocket limo that had a jacuzzi in the back !! absolutely set my standards for what Luxury was (its having a jacuzzi in the back of your limo). i have such memories of tupperware containers full of those rubber clothes that tore SO easily. your partner is so right the clothes were so fun to chew on, if/when one of my pieces tore i would just end up chewing on it for a while before tossing it. its v funny how many of us had the same experience lol
I was obsessed with the “weird anime” version. I had the rockstar house and it came with a dvd with the show. The magnet clothes were so cool, and I liked the plastic rubber clothes too. 10/10 my favorite toy as a child (it’s small size beat out Barbie). Again elementary/ middle school me loved the 2010 series so I still have a lot of nostalgia for it.
I grew up when the magnetic clothing was a thing. However my neighbour gave me this awesome poll pocket toy were it was this tiny magnetic town that had a shop, park, little boat and polly's house. It had a little handle in the water part of the town that u used to control we're polly would go, and if u got close enough to objects like her bed or the boat they would move so u can go in them. It's one of my favourite toys ever and is the most popular with all the little kids (boys and girls.) when they come over to my parents home till this day. It's very obscure though so I'm not surprised it didn't pop up in your video.
My family had both the original and 2000s Polly Pocket toys, but way more of the latter. I preferred them because I preferred fashion dolls as a kid. Something you missed (I haven't seen anyone else talk about them actually) was the brief period in the 2000s when there was a line of Polly Pocket toys that were smaller than the fashion dolls, but bigger than the original (maybe closest to the modern size?), that had magnets on their hands and feet. They were sold with playsets that I believe contained magnets as well. They're in this video from 0:21-0:22. They were most likely discontinued for the same reason the Quick Click clothes were - children swallowing magnets (I remember these magnets very easily falling off, too). I can't be the only one who remembers this era. Also, unrelated to the video's topic but Octopath Traveler 2 ❤
I got 3 of the original tiny polly pockets when i was around 5 from my grandma. Not sure what happened to one of them but i treasure the other 2 with my whole heart
I remember having a poly pocket that was rubber with magnets on her hands and feet she came with a tree house play set. I loved the 2004 movie I didn't known they kept making more animations for polly
Omg i had the magnet ones!! In typical kid fashion i lost a lot of stuff from my sets but i still have her MASSIVE cruise boat or whatever that was and the thing that looked like a mall changing room for the magnet clothes??
I remember playing with my cousin with her the old fashioned Polly Pockets with her Polly Pocket Hotel. Instead of a compact it was the size of a makeup case. It was so much fun to play that with her! One of these days when my cousin comes with her daughter and hoping all of us girls can play with her daughter and US playing with her with the her Polly Pocket Hotel.
Love the shirt. I was OBSESED with polly pocket growing up. I had the 3 inch ones. Ironically when I was smaller I had the tiny ones and like the rarest set of all being the theme park one. When the newer ones came out I thought they looked gross with giant heads and giant feet. I do like that they brought back the og pollies.
Polly World is the park of my dreams, I was so jealous of the whole competition Polly and her friends got to go on
sameeee😫
SAMEEE
@@mizusaki_alienalienyou know Universal and Illumination should make an animated Polly Pocket movie 🍿 do you like 👍 that idea 💡
Polly was one of the gems of my childhood! I'm a 2000s baby, so I grew up with the generation of Polly being average-sized, not compact, so when I found out how tiny they're supposed to be, I was shooketh. I think I still have the dolls with the magnetized clothing!
Same here. I remember the polly jet and the car that let you switch clothes and the cruise ship.
Same
Me too ~! ☺️
I loved she was tiny too. Plus the plastic clothes seems so cool to me
As a kid I was so into the concept of the 2010 cartoon versions of the characters having their hair color magically change whenever it got wet or when it was cold. Water usually gave them a bright color while cold was pastels. I was so jealous
That’s actually a cute attention to detail in reference to the actual toys.
The new ones feel either too small or two big. Almost like they are trying to be legos
I remember growing up with Polly Pocket during the 2000s. I remember a few of the pieces of clothes I had ripping and basically being unwearable, especially the shoes. I remember the flash games online being fun too.
omg i remember the flash games too! that’s the only thing i knew about the franchise, i didn’t know there were dolls and stuff outside the website
I never really had much exposure to Poly Pocket as a kid, but I did have Toys from it's boy directed counterpart, Mighty Max. Pretty sure I still have a couple playsets from that somewhere, including one which was like a skull that opened up into an evil castle.
I still have the big lava golem playset. I gave away all of my other ones, but that's the one I kept.
She stopped being a big seller when she hit her magnet clothes era (not the magnet furniture and walls era, still went strong during that)
Me and my sister were crasy about her, and we still have our toys.
My only contact with Polly Pocket as a child was the 2010 website- I was obsessed with the games in there, specially one where you could decorate a building/terrace(?)
And also a cousin had a few playsets, and I thought the little drinks they came with for the dolls that could stick on surfaces were really cool xd
I grew up with early 2000s Polly Pocket and I remember loving it. Also, I started reading Nevermore because of your video and I'm completely in love with the story and characters.
I WAS IN LOVE WITH THE 3D SHOW and spent 24 hours in the website playing the games lol
I didn’t know they had a show tho xD
Also, holy shit I’m early! 😂
Edit: spelling & additional
Most of the Polly Pockets I had were 2000s era hand-me-downs from my cousin that I only played with at her house. She had the car and the purse-closet sets. I eventually convinced my aunt to buy me the ski resort. It's the best play set I've ever had.
I had a ton of the early 2000's toys. Two of the summer beach sets and the dog walking set. I also had one of the magnetic sets (still have it). The coolest one I had? A tiny strawberry themed compact one. There was SO MUCH DETAIL.
I never owned the dolls but I LOVED the little games they had online, such a fun childhood memory, ty Negative!!
oh sweet sweet pink crystal ball polly pocket set... how i miss thee... the little swans that rotated around the island and the little tree hammock that polly could nap in next to the bird house. the treasure chest to hold the tiny gems and crown stand. the flip up canopy bed and the entire top bit made of molded translucent pink plastic to look like the entire room was made of gems... ah memories...
Good times :)
Edit: By the way, the full Polly World movie was uploaded to TH-cam by someone and its still up I believe ;)
I loved the Polly World movie as a kid. Still brings back very nostalgic memories 🥹
I loved playing with Polly pocket as a kid. It was one of the few dolls I actually played with
I distinctly remember having a couple Polly pocket dolls as a kid but more than anything I remember playing games constantly on the Polly pocket website
Really love the Rouge the bat shirt.❤❤❤
I was OBESESSED with the 2000s polly pocket animations when I was like 4-5 years old even though I had the early 2010s toys
Also off topic but I love your rouge shirt!!
I found video here on TH-cam where someone made a Zelda TotK Polly Pocket, and I really want to try that myself 😄
it would be cool to see a video about the polly pocket online games, they definitely took up a decent chunk of my childhood lol
Izabella looks so good !!! The pink hair 😍
Partner: “This romper….. IS BUSING!”
Negative: “NO!!!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had Polly Pockets (2000s version) and I loved playing with them. My dream present was the jumbo jet and when I got it for Christmas, I was over the moon
I loved the special, as a kid I wished there was more of that version of Polly. The song “perfect kind of day” was stuck in my head.
The 3d CGI was what I watched as a 2005 baby and I still have memories of it
The chewability of polly rubber clothes were truly a nostalgic, interestingly not bad, distinguiched experience to have had the privilege to live with.
I remember playing with my sister's polly pockets. She had a whole collection of the small compact ones, and I loved them as a kid.
Nostalgia of such toys man
An adult-oriented line of bespoke polly pocket compact collectibles would be a fantastic marketing move. I feel like not nearly enough toy companies are utilitizing the adult nostalgia market, especially collectibles.
I would love to see you cover Strawberry Shortcake someday!!^^
“I know its chewy and scrumdiddlyumptious” no truer words to describe the polly pocket experience
I grew up with the bigger ones with stretchy plastic clothes. That was the "real" Polly Pocket for me when I was a kid. xD But I also had some of the compacts and they're cute.
Same
My cousin used to collect polly pocket toys, from the compact era, she also had a lot of houses, she started passing down some to me (the ones she didn't like i suppose), she had given me a heart shaped compact and jasmin's palace from alladin (i don't if it was the actual disney franchise), my favorite was a disco club compact that played the theme song from one piece for some reason, then i had a fairy house compact with 2 fairy polly pockets, with paper wings, then the next era, the bigger ones, that's when i bought a lot, i had a cruise ship, i had a house, i had magnet clothes, i had magnet hair, everything, then i got older and just stopped, i got into my little pony again, the g4 era and some g5... anyway i love your videos
i was part of the rubber/magnetic clothes generation! i even had the radio thing you showed in the video, i'm pretty sure i still have it stored somewhere. my family didn't have enough money back then to buy me all those cute little toys, but i remember that one of my mother's friends had like EVERY SET and clothes and accesories and dolls and i was so amazed to see them all and be able to play with them, it's one of my core memories!
I have a huge collection of 90's polly. The sad thing is that I lost most of the dolls.
I remember loving them, beeing able to bring two or three with me easily was amazing
I really missed the old Polly pocket era it was iconic. I had Polly pocket since I was a child and it was nostalgic.
This video made me go through a flood of childhood memories. I loved Polly pocket so much as a kid.
I grew up with the poly pocket dolls with plastic hair and I LOVED them but now I wish I also had the mini compacts 🥺
13:29 casually goes to Calendar - 😂
15:11 I had one of those magnetized Polly pockets and play sets. My mom literally took it, got superglue, and straight up glued each and every magnet. It probably took hours of work to do this. She also told me if I ate one, my next meal would be with my uncle (who died a decade prior). But hey, it worked and the magnets never fell out again!
Plastic clothes would rip?!?! How hard y’all pulling? I never broke mine and I was a destructive little girl, that’s y my ma would get me these lol
I got the rubber clothed/magnet play sets for Christmas like EVERY year when I was a kid. I had no idea they still existed lmao incredible video.
I had the 2000s polly pocket with the rubbery plastic clothes, and as a little kid I would chew on the clothes like gum. Never swallowed them but I did that for way too long and now I think polly pocket I think of those clothes
My sister used to love polly pocket dooks. She also loved Betty Spaghetti and Barbie dolls.
I don't remember much of my polly dolls but that i loved the texture of the silicone dresses i had for them
Yooooo i still have all my old Polly Pocket compacts from the 90s!!! They go for a lot of money on ebay these days but they're so cool idk if I'll ever sell mine, they still bring me so much joy. 💖
That in the closest joke aimed at Polly had me WHEEZING. Because... same. Both in the closest and in the broom closet! (If ya know, ya know.)
I only remember Polly Pocket from the online games from the Mattel website, but I’m glad to know one of my favs enjoyed the actual toys
one of the best birthday gifts i ever got in my life was for my 8th birthday, the morning before school i got to open one gift and it was the polly pocket limo that had a jacuzzi in the back !! absolutely set my standards for what Luxury was (its having a jacuzzi in the back of your limo). i have such memories of tupperware containers full of those rubber clothes that tore SO easily. your partner is so right the clothes were so fun to chew on, if/when one of my pieces tore i would just end up chewing on it for a while before tossing it. its v funny how many of us had the same experience lol
Loving the doll videos. I don't know why, but I'm interested in collectable toys
Negative, YOU NEED TO DO A VIDEO ON P.I.N.Y INSTITUTE OF NEW YORK! Awesome video once again!
I always wanted the TMNT versions. they had shell compacts but also the turtle van and the coolest shredder
I remember Polly Pocket (I was born in the 2000's) and I wondered when I got the toy
Grew up with the larger polly in the 2000s. Those rubber clothes sucked to get on and off but God I loved those toys. Had hundreds
I had the small plastic Polly pocket dolls with articulation 😂I love the Disney Princess versions of those. They were my favourite
