  • My Honda Prelude is currently on 17x9.5 wheels and I'm comparing how a 215/40 tire and a 215/45 tire will look on my car. I really want that stance style but my rear coilovers don't allow me to go any lower and so I decided to try out a more meaty setup.

    what's the offset of the wheels? I just put on a 17x8.5 +30 on 225/45/17 tire but it is poking, (not lowered yet) I want to go for a similar look of slightly tucked, I am planning on lowering it, should I get smaller tire size? or would it matter with the wheel offset?

  • @CrudeLude
    @CrudeLude 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    As long as you keep the same size tires on the drive axles, you'll be fine. I don't believe the tire size matters as long as the opposite side (Ex. Rear Driver and Rear Passenger) are the same size. It might affect handling and ride quality slightly, but that's about it.

    How do you run that setup without no rubbing it seems like? I got 17x8.5, 210/40/17 n they rub hella on the inside of the tire. Figuring it out

      Camber kit, rolled and pulled fenders, and on top of that, the tire stretch is critical too

    • @Rawrkee

      My wheels are 1 inch wider than yours so I still have more stretch than your setup

    Meaty look better and will feel better while riding. You will get less road noise. Looks goo though.

    Funny thing i like the staggered look, with a bigger size tires on the back. I had that set up on my del sol..

      @Rawrkee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used to run a stagger setup too!! But it doesn’t make sense on a fwd if your wheels are wider in the rear 😩

    Hola me puedes ayudar con algo y gracias de antemano quisiera saber qué si una llanta 17 et40 me funcionaria en mi prelude 5 generación

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sí, puede funcionar, pero la rueda sobresaldrá mucho. Eso significa que no podrá bajar mucho su automóvil a menos que instale kits de inclinación ajustable delantera y trasera.

    Had an 2001 mugen white and sprayed some pearl white to make it shine more.
    Had the car for almost 9 years baby it , never seen rain / winter. Probbaly put 5,000 miles a year, sold it around 70 k miles after seening vip cars for tge 1st time, i wanted that super low wide stance big ass and lip wheel look that no one would dare ir try to attempt on a prelude at the time.
    This before the hondas start messing around with their wheel set up, camber , stance , poke , what ever there is out thwir now.
    If u had a mint car sitting on nice wheels flush, u were good, people were still gate keeling offsets like it some. Secret saauce at the time.
    Remember no one wanted to give out their offset wheels set up.
    Anyways, as the car game change, i really miss my honda prelude, and how u can set it up with all these varitions style , it gives it a new fresh air .
    So nostalgic i wanted to buy one but never thought they be on some endanger spices type of shit and turn into a classic worth 15k in good shape. U can get rust buckets for less then 10 k but as u know honda rust is terrible.
    Anyways good to see somme ppl keeping thwse cars alive.

    • @Rawrkee
      @Rawrkee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I never really cared about stretched tires but since I'm running 9.5 wide wheels and wanna ride low, I had to opt for stretched tires. The ride quality is def rough/bumpy/noisy. I've unofficially cruised at 80mph and they're fine. You just need to watch out for debeading which usually happens when you're turning and hit a pothole. stretched tires, you'll have to cruise at lower speeds if you wanna prevent cracking your wheels and debeading. def makes you more mindful of your car and how you're driving

      @@Rawrkee they gave me 7700.00 for it took out my 250 deductible and allowed me to keep the car for 480.00 that left me right at 7000.00 to get another car. LMAO! I bought a 97 lude for 3000.00. Its in really good shape. Freshly rebuilt engine, new clutch kit, lowering coilovers. Etc. Only problems I have found so far is a leak in the power steering, and the ac doesn't work. However I have a whole ass parts car! Let me know if there is something you need. I have it.
