丹佛市长候选人和亚裔社区的对话 Denver Mayoral Candidate Conversation with the Asian Community - Leslie Herod

4月4日丹佛要选出新的市长，目前还是有超过10位以上的候选人，而且还没决定的选民超过半数，所以花落谁家还是未知之数，有鉴于此不少的候选人也来和亚裔族群对话，希望能够获得该族群的支持，我们从今天起到投票日将推出一些这些候选人的专访，让大家多认识他们，看看他们要对丹佛的亚裔族群有多了解，如何让亚裔族群能够更融入丹佛，如何减少针对亚裔族群的仇恨犯罪，还有是否可以承诺每年农历新年都能够慎重其事的和亚裔族群拜年和祝贺，不要让大家望穿秋水。
今天采访的是民主党籍的州众议员的Leslie Herod，由于州议会还在就枪支法案讨论，在议会里的她无法视频，但还是趁着议会休息的时间接受了采访。Leslie Herod是科罗拉多大学博尔德分校学士，曾经就读哈佛大学公共管理学院提供地方和州政府高级行政人员的短期进修课程。2016年当选为州众议员的她已经是三届的州众议员，目前是州众议院预算拨款委员会的主席，也是科州州议会里唯一出柜的非裔州议员。她的竞选主轴是治安，游民问题和公平的居住环境。
As we are approaching the election of the new Denver mayor next month, we reached out to numerous candidates to see whether we can have a one-on-one conversation with them to talk about topics concerning the Denver Asian community, including the candidates' understanding of the Denver Asian community, their vision to make Denver more inclusive to the Asian community, how they plan to tackle the rising hate crimes against the Asian community and on the lighter side, whether the candidates can commit to make it a routine to give Asian communities greetings for the Lunar New Year . Our goal is to let Asian Denverites know more about these candidates and share their thoughts on topics of particular importance to the Asian communities.
