Cool video! I was stung by a scorpion once too, it was tiny and I was camping and was stung while walking to the bathroom. My parents too me to the hospital and I was fine and all, but it did hurt.
is there a safe way to handle them without having to tail them? I would love to try to handle my arizonensis, but I feel tailing would cause way more unnecessary stress.
I do not recommend as it will either take up too much time than need be, and pushing the tail/legs so that it would move on top of your hand would be very dangerous as it will flick its tail. A quick snatch on the tail would not cause too much stress for them.
Don't tail them, it's cruel. If you feel the need to hold one (judge by claws) just back it into your hand or catch cup. No reason to overstress such a delicate species. 20+ years never once caught a sting
The smaller ones are worse.
What a beautiful fella, wish we had ones that big in Aus
Mine are actually record breaking in some regions of the world. I will soon make a video on sizes and official records very soon!
Nice camera angles, it was interesting to see them up close!
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
