This was some of the best acting in the entire Voyager series and a lot of Star Trek overall.
Serious, well written female relationships like this in the late 90's on tv was not everyday fare. These two women really made you believe that their relationship was absolutely real and that there was so much depth to it. Mulgrew and Ryan may not have been getting along in real life but you could damn well never tell by watching the emotion laden scenes that they played off each other.
They both deserved bigger careers than they've gotten..

These scenes also have a sense of intimacy to them that is so we'll acted

Omg yes! And how janeway positions herself with seven...and um...her body language when she has seven apply her pin...surely she could've had done that herself...but I'm so glad she didnt!

You can see the great chemistry with these two. And they both are great actors, because even if they did not like each other much, you can not tell by watching Voyager.

Thank you for reminding me why I loved Voyager so much and why I cherish these two so much. I was lacking strong female examples when I grew up and these made me realize they can exist.. even if they were fictional.

Sevens my favorite of Voyager. But do luv Janeway. I wished there was an episode where Seven was severely injured and comatose for an extended period or lingered on deaths door with the doctor searching exhaustedly for answers. I would have liked to have seen how Janeway took Sevens incapacitation lingering on death as well the impact on the rest of the officers and crew. And episode like that would have been great from character standpoint of all the other officers and crew. But we never got quite such and episode.

In "The Omega Directive", when Seven saw the perfection of the Omega molecules for 3.2 seconds, she found what the Borg considered "God". She has been shaken by the experience, just as anyone else who believes that "saw God".
