When 7 originally came into the star trek world it was all about the outfit and how good she looked, but let's face it, Jeri Ryan owns this part and makes the character a genuine favourite.
When Voyager was on TV, a coworker of mine only talked about how she looked.... But she turned why they added her and turned her into a great character on the show. Storylines got so much better because of her there
People focused on her looks but forgot that she had been acting for the better part of eight years before she got the role of Seven. She was more than a pretty face.

She's incredible. There are so many layers to her acting that she perfectly pulls off. I can't even begin to describe them well enough to do them justice. What a treat to see her.
She acted like she was channeling a Klingon warrior, then a Ferengi. Later she emulated the EMH to perfection, kinesics, facial expressions, inflections : Damn near - perfect.

STOP THE CAP! her Voyager days is infinitely better and hotter besides that, her new take is more acceptable for the time that we're in now and she doesn't quite feel like this is the same character from that Voyager era it feels like a completely different character.
Man i agree the new take is fresh but c'mon stop the nonsense she has aged gracefully and still is a fine woman no doubt but better than the skin tight lady in her 20's. I don't think so! Her updated character arc is been excellent and flushed out the character up to season 3 episode 5!
After watching 4-minutes and 15-seconds of Seven in action, I now want to watch Season 1 and 2 of Picard! FYI, I cheated and skipped to Season 3 just because they got the whole crew of TNG back together! Now that was one of my highlights of 2023!

And apparently there IS a reason why they know each other. There was a couple of books written that tells the story of what happened to Voyager's crew when they finally returned from the Delta Quadrant. Captain Picard and his crew were some of the people who helped guide the crew home. So of course, he would have met Seven. Janeway would be very proud of her adopted daughter, seeing what she's doing now. Helping those who can't help themselves.
7 turned into a morally-bankrupt psychologically-damaged alcoholic, driven by revenge and prone to brutal murder. I can see why Janeway would be pleased.

@@O1OO1O1 Actually, if you look at what happened, the Federation being none-too-please with Picard actually makes sense. They gave him a fleet to help the Romulans, the Narada wiped most of it out. They then, despite those losses, were still willing to give him a fleet that was getting built at Utopia Planetia. THAT got wiped out. Add to that 300+ years of the Romulans trying to actively wipe the federation out, and you can understand why 14 species wanted to pull out if they tried to help the Romulans for a THIRD time. and on top of that, Picard literally insults them to their faces on live media WITHOUT mentioning the context of why they gave up, and then asks them to reinstate him a week later. "Sheer Fucking Hubris" is an entirely justified comment at that point. There's only so much slack Picard got before he used it all up (what with the deaths of tens of thousands of Starfleet officers to help a species who frankly has NEVER been friendly to the Federation, and only allied in the Dominion war out of self-preservation).
How about putting aside the fact that she's hot and putting up the fact that she still has acting skills and that she does very well in the Star Trek series and it's very popular with her character I'm glad that she has been in the Picard series and hopefully we'll see more of the Picard series Patrick Stewart is a great actor and all the people that are around him making even better actor out of him
7 of 9........ It is hard to relay what is going on in Picard with her story overall. I can say this.... In the entire Star Trek Universe, I cannot think of a more tragic character at this stage. Someone stolen by the Borg. She was then released back to humanity. Only to have her "kin" stolen from her and basically be abandoned by humanity. Find her Borg counterparts, to lose them as well. Data saying goodbye destroyed me. Not going to lie. He finally got the proper ending that character had deserved this whole time. I hope they give 7 the ending she deserves. I hope it is peace, family, and purpose again. Perhaps she can bring the Borg together with the humans. Rather than assimilating, she can give new Borg individuality and choice. This character is one of the greatest mysteries they have ever made. On par with Guinan. There is still so damn much to explore.
I remember when Whoopie had so many fun movies in the 80's. She was great on TNG, but sadly I can't stand her now. Everyone, black and white used to love her, but her politics are so horrible now, that It is hard for me to separate the actor from the character. She got a huge fortune after all those horrible white people loved watching her movies.

Seven was a character that was an abused child. Raised by unfit guardians and eventually found a foster home. Now a rebellious teenager. Janeway became her surrogate mother. The Borg plot in Voyager became a custody battle. Anika was to rebuild her life. Re find her identity and with Voyager she can rebuild. Giving audiences and abused girls a symbol to look up to. That although they feel different and no one understands, they are loved and valued for who they are. They use that experience and grow stronger and can help others. No forget that noise. Pew pew. The show may entertain, its Star Trek on TV. But it's entirely cynical.

Are there no advanced EMH models in the future, in all their exploits nobody thought picking an EMH/with mobile emitter would be an idea, even a black market version? I'm sorry, I know I'm alone on this but Seven would not do this. She'd try and find a way to save him first

Someone has built the imaginary construction of artist so it would fit into a pattern in a way that it would have piece of the bigger puzzle.

Seven was working on becoming perfect in everything from cooking ECT. She clearly likes men not women too. The Picard Seven bares no resemblance to the original Seven. I did not like this show but saw Seven of Nine so I continued to watch but I can't see the true nature of the original Seven. She was very intelligent so she would not be doing what the Picard show represents.

kind of a strange time in her career, after decades of lawyer shows, for Jerri Ryan to show up as a brilliant actress.
