As much as Kai enjoys training and teaching far less experienced guys, it's nearly impossible for him to do so without making them look bad in the end. His form is so precise from hours and endless hours spent in the gym tweaking every single movement til he feels it directly in the exact muscles he wants to feel it in that when he tries to show newer lifters how to do the same thing they dont have the stamina or the stabilizing muscles to do it the same way!
When i first started working out, it took a couple of weeks before i could contract my biceps and chest because i had to gain some muscle first to feel the contraction. So if you are just starting out, you may not be able to mentally feel a contraction. Give it sometime for more muscle to grow, and then as your muscle grows, you will be able to feel a greater isolation contraction.
Yup I remember at the start I could not feel my chest connection at all and didn’t till I gained some base muscle it’s crazy the difference from then to now
For real if you hate pushups once you start doing them your pressing strength muscle mass and muscle definition and bench press max goes way up sooessentially something you thought you hated you now love because the results you got from doing it and it’s because your doing about 60% of your body weight every push-up so your just doing a challenging bench press every time you do a push-up and Kai is saying it helps you activate and engage your muscles it’s a killer warm up and most people fail before they knock out 100
