Use the power from a dark ritual to study an unholy tome that hurts to read and abuse the lore found therein to rend your own mind asunder, only to then spend your lifeblood to resurrect a demonlord.
I wish I'd been there, meeting both him and ash would be awesome. Any time there's a Dutch hosted event like that I wish I'd made it, it's such a great country and easy for visitors/transportation. But yeah what an event, I heard only good things

It's like every player, in every match, never wanted to fight to the bitter end. Even when their defeat wasn't assured, with only the match's balance shifting away from their favor. The idea that they were going to lose, or even likely lose, seems to have broken them... so table flip. There was only one match that went all the way to the very end, and that was only because it was LVD who lost and he played to the very end, as he almost always does.
48:15 you actually would gain more life by playing Phial and paying 4 life, going to 2, because Phial would double the 7 from K'rrik going back up to 16 rather than 13. Also would have drawn 2 cards at the start of the next turn (if you hadn't already been dead). Also would have been worth leaving K'rrik back to block, you could have survived*, but that's harder to decide without perfect information. *(although with better play from your opponent you would have been forced to chump block with both creatures, left with nothing and facing down a very scary board)
During the game with Bill at around 48:28, something you could’ve done is paid life to set yourself below 5 life, play the Phial, and then attack with Krik, gaining double the amount of life which would’ve saved you I think. Great games though, always love your vids 👌

15:19 That Phyrexian animation on the avatar to pay life must be new, right? Clicking on your avatar to pay life is how it works on MTGO, but on Arena I thought you always had to use the spinners like at 14:33.
You made a mistake in sequencing with Ashiok in turn 7. If you had played Ashiok before attacking, then when you went to attack with Preacher you would have exiled a card with Ashiok's passive effect and the nightmares would have each gotten a +1/+1 counter that turn. EDIT: Once again the only mistake is me misreading something. I did not realize that the tokens say "at the beginning of combat" instead of during the end step. So the Preacher's ability triggering when it attacks wouldn't have changed anything.
Game 2 was one of the zaniest lines of play I've ever seen. Btw, is there a particular reason for leaving out rush of dread? Maybe in practice Gary just gets the job done?
This is the most rigged game I've ever played. Every single brawl I've played against Rusko they've had Sheoldred in their opening hand. It happened 6/6 matches. I played for hours today and faced the same handful of commanders that perfectly counter my deck. Now I remember why I quit playing arena years ago.

It does fit the theme of the deck somewhat, but it's always awkward when you also gain a bunch of life. The deck also doesn't really want too many random creatures as they don't work towards our combo gameplan.

Good point! Would want to play everything first main phase so we make a 7/7 that doesn't trade for their team. Should have just enough life for it.

Rush is pretty average outside of the combo and Gary will indeed often get the job done.
