I was REALLY REALLY waiting for this video. I can't describe how happy am I that Legend finally published Tergrid content. I am so happy I might pass out. Jokes aside, great content Legend! Thanks for all the high quality entertainment. Creators like you really deserve more love. For those black mages out there, give it a shot, I think they are a worth inclusion.
I even crafted Grave Pact for this deck, but ended up cutting it since we're relatively light on creatures. Will be much better in a deck like Jadar that actively sacrifices its own creatures.
I know Lvd strays away from using alchemy cards, but I don't know if he ever explained why. So I got to ask, what exactly is wrong with alchemy cards? From what I know they're just virtual only cards.

@@reokado4783 I think it's the increased complexity of some of the alchemy cards; in paper mechanics are limited in complexity because you keep track of everything manually; look at Draugr Necromancer from Kaldheim: the one and only purpose of putting the "Ice Counter" on the exiled card is to keep track of what was exiled by Draugr Necromancer and by extension what you can cast from your opponents exile thanks to Draugr Necromancer. In alchemy, something like "Perpetually" is too complicated for paper because there's no easy way to keep track of the changed effects for that SPECIFIC card that, most importantly, are kept even between zones such as the battlefield, exile, graveyard, your hand, and ESPECIALLY your library. Also things that a player isn't capable of doing without the aid of a program, like "seek" which fetches *RANDOM* cards from your library, which if a player tries to do in paper comes with the complication of not being able to without a doubt prove the seeked card was indeed random and not cherry-picked by the searcher. also there's a growing trend/meme of magic cards these days having way too much text, which Alchemy Cards indulge in frequently.

@@reokado4783 they're virtual only because they use mechanics that wouldn't be possible in paper magic. It defies the game sense and intuitions that people have developed for decades, and they're just not worth that cost
@@reokado4783the thing that causes friction is that they are more cards to have to memorise which you'll never see in a real life game, plus some virtual-only mechanics are unintuitive and clunky. Never mind, I looked into it a little more and I get it now. Arena changed existing cards for rebalancing purposes. Yeah, I can get why that would urk people.
By the way, I dunno if it's been powercrept, but you can put your opponent in a real slogfest by focusing on the Tergrid's Lantern side of the card instead. The steady 3 damage ping on top of tearing their resources apart can be a real efficient strategy.
