Thank you for the great content. I have 2 questions 1. Does the cerium oxide leave a haze? Do you need to polish it with anything else to get clear glass after the cerium oxide or does it not leave a haze anyways? And the second question is: how long did it take you to remove most of the fine/smaller scratches you did first, 15-20minutes moving the polisher around or so?Thanks in advance from the Netherlands!
Hey Netherlands! Thank you so much! No, it does not leave a haze, and correct about 15 minutes, let the tool do it's job, don't rush it and it will come out great!
@@motorcarnut so I tried it and the scratches faded a ton!! However, I did the whole windshield, didnt use pressure and went to drive it just now and I have noticed a ton of swirling and marring (evening hours). Im pretty sure this wasnt there before, must be the cerium oxide leaving swirls or maybe the marring just now became visible . What can I do? Use a finer/finishing polishing compound to smooth things out?
@Ryy22 It shouldn’t have left any swirl marks. Maybe the windshield was contaminated before and mixed together when you finished. Yes, if you have a polishing bonnet and some glaze or micro finishing compound it should take all those swirls out no problem. Just make sure to clean the windshield first then after for a crystal clear finish
hi, any particular reason why you use the polisher on an angle instead of having the pad flat? does it have a more agressive cutting effect at an angle?
i use clear resin on the deep ones after scratches after buffing uv activate and then cut with razor blade gives it a final touch then another polish to remove highspots
My glass have sand befor and the agency make glass polish but now i fell it have hairlines scratches appears on light reflection. It can be fixed with this product?
Hi! I got some minor scratches from my wiper blade. I think they're light scratches as I can't tell from outside, but it's lightly visible on the inside. Will this help remove the scratches from my windshield? I don't like having anything on my windshield.
Ive just ordered this product of ebay this evening for my 2013 Fiat 500.Previous owner never changed rear wiper blade and passengers side front wiper blade and its quite badly scratched.
Faster and easier and practically impossible to screw up.....Ajax the widhield if you want you can use steel wool if you want but Ajax is fine ...once you notice the scratch has faded or has reduced in size ...clean up make sure completely no ajax residue what so ever ..then use any car polish on the windshield...it fills in scratches
You have to be careful because the windshield is obviously a safety issue and don't want to distort the glass with products not recommend for that purpose.
No, this it for very minor scratches you can't even feel with your fingernail, it's not very abrasive at all but does a great job removing the wiper haze and scratches.
Awesome! Just scratched mine very slightly (not noticeable with fingernail) but the old wiper left an arc just like yours. Will try this! ( they reccomend the red Cerium oxide but the white seems to work perfectly.)
I have these marks on my windshield. Someone said it was from whoever had the car before me, I just bought it, I had bad blades and it left " burn" marks. Didn't know there was such a thing. Do you think this would help? Thanks
I’ve removed scratches to an acceptable level using ceraglass, misting water, a rayon pad, and a 3 inch da polisher with an 8mm throw. However I don’t know how to remove the haze I’ve created. Any tips for which combo I should use? I have access to lots of polishes and pads.
Depends how bad the haze is but I use 3M micro finishing compound with a wool bonnet. There’s many products out there that may be better suited for glass though.
That's crazy, i've been watching a few videos from "professionals" removing scratches and cleaning windscreens and they all take around two hours to clean/ remove a few scratches and use at least $80 worth of products, do you recommend sealing the glass after polishing and if so what with please? Thanks.
I have tiny scratches full on windshield, these scratches are not visible, but only at night when you are inside the car and you look at other people light or streets light. Is this common? Or does polishing help with it?
It's not that common. Always use quality wiper blades specifically soft rubber or silicon made. Most of the time wipers with dust on screen creates scratch marks. You should get screen polished by an expert
My windshield has lots of tiny specks/dents all over the entire surface, probably from oncoming tiny debris (sand or whatever) while on the road. Does it fix them too? Or is there a better way?
1500 to start with then 2000 to finish is fine. Don't worry if you go to slow or to fast, it's glass not paint and the powder is very minimal abrasive.
What you had was not a scratch, it was a hard stain. Impossible to remove scratches from glass unless you sand it off startinf from 180grit up to 6000.

Works but it's time consuming , doesn't clear your glass in 30 min. Depends of course how deep the scratches are , if there to deep FORGET IT. Just like paint if it's to deep you need a filler to level the surface. That's what body filler does. Best way I dealt with customers that don't like the scratches if there to deep is HIDE IT. They have special vinyl see threw one way film for glass in any color and light tints. It's similar to what they do on paint ( vinyl wrap ) . Gets installed on the exterior and the deep scratches are gone. Cost about 300 depends on the size verse a new windshield that are 4 times as much.
Thank you for the extra information. I didn't know about the vinyl for glass, this may help others with deep scratches instead of a windshield replacement.

My windshield is fuzzy because i tried to pokish it with headlight polisher.

Can use a glaze compound with a polisher.

Deep ones, have to be cut. Start with 180 then. 400 then 800. And finally 1500. Or finer. Then you polish.
I explained that in the video.
