    I had the same problem with fine scratches over the entire arc of the wipers. I got this kit as a Christmas present from me to me, and it worked like a charm. I can’t believe how much better my windshield looks, and no more diffused streaky headlights impairing visibility at night.

      I have the same issue on my 1990 R129 Mercedes. It passed the finger nail test so I purchased the kit. Hopefully, it works.

    I have a nasty windshield as well, with one scratch being a little nastier than this. I tried to get it out by hand and with a drill and wool pad using AutoSol polish for metal, but it hardly did anything.
    My car is a BMW E46 Compact on which a dingus end didn't care for the windshield wipers or what was on/under them.

    I should probably do this to my CLK, a new windshield is over 300€ and my insurance doesn't have windshield coverage, and even if it did they only pay for it if it has a crack.

    I looked at the videos and the webpage, but the one question I have that I didn't seem to find an answer for is: how large of a windshield will one of these kits cover? I just purchased a 2010 GMC Sierra, and the 1st owner was a farmer and the 2nd owner was a younger lady. Between the two of them, the windshield is pretty scratched from the wipers, and some other actions. It is pretty bad driving at night. On top of that, the headlights have fogged over. So I know about all of the other methods to clear up the headlights. But will this work on those as well, or is this compound specially formulated for glass only?

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Jeremiah, It is not how big the windshield, but rather that many and how deep the scratches. If the scratches are so deep that you can stag your finger nail on them then this polish won't remove them. Light scratches on both wiper areas on a big shield this kit will do. It kind of sounds to me like you may be better off just buying a new windshield.

    Hi Kent. I’m working on fixing up my car and cleaning up the paint job. However inside the car some of the wood trim appears to be coming off. I have a 1984 300D. What type of adhesive should I use to stick it back down?

    • @Mercedessource
      @Mercedessource  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends a lot on what your sticking what to if you understand what I am trying to say. Wood to metal a good epoxy works well. Metal or wood to vinyl I use E6000. The trick is holding it in place until it drys. I use my front seats with different lengths of wood sticks and padding on each end and adjust the seats for proper pressure on the dash wood.

    • @dylanreischling4151
      @dylanreischling4151 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ryanelsbree3548
      @ryanelsbree3548 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Highteckhobbies it’s caused from a variety of road debris and abrasion getting swept off the windshield over time by your wiper blades.

    • @ryanelsbree3548

    • @SuperFIFTHGEAR
      @SuperFIFTHGEAR 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd assume bad wiper blades, excess dirt and grit on the windshield. Possibly from scraping ice off, depending on what's used I'd imagine. Glass can get pitted with wear and tear.

    • @malcolmlane-ley2044
      @malcolmlane-ley2044 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fine grit being dragged across the glass by the wiper blade

    • @rdvancoban5230
      @rdvancoban5230 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine was because of a broken wiper blade adapter that attaches it to the car. I did not realize it was not holding well in place, and as it moved up and down it tilted too much that the plastic part of the wiper scratched it all in some days. It was a new bosch brand wiper, never thought it would fail that badly
