    Thanks for this video. I've been trying to take care of my late mother's car. I recently cleaned the windshield and realized that a good chunk of what I thought was dirt and streaks were actually scratches from the wiperblades that I replaced a while back, so now I'm looking into polishing.

    Had some light razor blade scratches in the windshield (from trying to remove melted on rubber). Tried this product with both cordless & corded drill. Spent an hour using this to remove them. followed the instructions to the "T". Cleaned up the scratches, made them a little less obvious, but in the end didn't completely remove them (maybe took away 60% of them). maybe if I spent another couple hours I could get them out. Bottom line: don't expect this to be a "miracle cure".

    Hey John… Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Sorry if you’ve already answered this a in a previous post, but what speed did you put your cordless drill? I know they usually only come in TWO speeds. Was it set to the highest? I went ahead and ordered the product, so I’m hoping it will take out this dang minor rock scratch I just got last week due to a big wall of slush hitting me with a small rock getting aught under my wiper blade. Also, would it behoove me to tape off the section of the scratch? The windshield is only two months old. Thanks in advance!

    My major major concern with doing something like this on the windsheild is getting distortion once the scratch is gone. Did you notice any distortion in the glass afterwards even in the slightest bit? A shimmering of light over the area at night? Modern day glass is thinner than it used to be.

    Did it leave any light scratch swirl marks where you polished out the scratch, or did it restore it to perfect clarity? How is visibility through the area at night with oncoming lights etc? That would be my main concern when trying to polish out the windshield on the drivers side. I tried a glass polishing product recently that left more swirls than it removed. I'm keen to test this one out if it can restore the windshield properly.

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It states that you should have it on the fasted setting. When you are snaring you will see the water dry up quickly. Keep it lubricated and take breaks so it doesn’t get too hot.

      Hi John, just a final follow up. Just got done performing this task on my windshield as I had a wiper arm streak from a storm I drove through that took off my blade. Yes, you’re absolutely right that you MUST have a high speed drill and must watch the heat. I took tons of break and used water constantly b/c I didn’t want to crack the windshield. Also, my first white pad got destroyed early somehow and I was so lucky to have the 2nd. It takes a lot of elbow grease and patience to get the look you want. In the end, I still have a slight streak but nothing very noticeable. The product works great and if I wouldn’t have destroyed the first pad I prob would of tried for the last little bit but I was very cautious about the heat and just stopped! Do you have any idea what type of pad that is so maybe buy aftermarket? 👍👍
