Anyone telling me a story about assault while doing their makeup is so far detached from reality. This level of narcissism is mind boggling. Your friends could have yelled for help! Called the police! Take a photo/video of the suspect! Standing around doing absolutely nothing is malicious.

Exactly. They probably took dozens of pics of themselves that night yet could not bother to snap a pic of this man. Also disturbing is that she called it a fight as opposed to a psycho attack.

There is no misogyny like female misogyny
I used to be that friend and colleague thinking they'll do the same for me
You know, be that friend you want to have.
Nope, they couldn't wait to throw me under the bus EVERY opportunity they had.
There's also another thing. Moral people are just moral. They will speak up even if they don't like you. They just don't like injustice.
That's how a perfect stranger can defend you while your 'friends' watch.

She enjoyed it. The lady was right. As long as she was sought after; she didn’t care how her “friend” was treated. So long as she was centered. A lot of women are like this. I have sister (YES MY SISTER) told me once that if a boy wanted to jump then there must be a reason I obviously deserved it. My sister has NEVER liked me.
Ain’t no way I’m letting MY FRIEND be assaulted by a man. She clearly enjoyed it. It was a group of them! We all would’ve been down those stairs swinging on him. Ain’t no way! I’m not even a fighter but there’s absolutely no way.

They all sat there and watched because they HATED that girl. They had no problem with her getting assaulted. They probably laughed about it after. I put nothing past women like that. They were probably mean girls to that girl in the group and took pleasure in what happened. The fact that she thinks that giving your social media handle to some random weirdo will give you some sort of safety tells me she’s male centered all her life. Wheww chileee. I would love to hear what the girl who got assaulted have to say. I bet her story would expose these fake friends to their embarrassment.

When I was 23 all us girls went out one night. There was this guy who would not leave one of our friends alone no matter how many times she asked him to leave her alone, we also intervened and tried to keep him away but he was relentless. Eventually another girl in our group stood up to him because it was getting beyond annoying. He did throw a punch at her but there was no way in hell the rest of us were going to take a step back and allow him to hurt her. I broke my nails on that mf before bouncers got involved. One of the girls got him with her heel another one got a fist full of his hair as a souvenir 😂 we spent a night on jail over this. I really don't get how that group watched their friend get assaulted and did nothing. I think I'd jump in to defend a woman I don't know but I grew up with 6 brothers so it's instinct at this point to throw hands, evem if you are scared to jump in at least call for help or something. I really can't relate to people who can sit back and allow something so heinous to happen without doing anything.

And this is why I'll NEVER understand why women say it's a "red flag" if a girl/women DOESN'T have any friends.
I don't see anything "wrong" with being a friendless, introverted, loner. 🤷
Its okay to NOT have friends.
    Would it be nice? Sure.
    Is it necessary? No.
This is why girls/women need to learn self-defense skills (*as young as possible*) and carry pepper-spray at all times!
Its too late for me. I'm too old to learn self-defense. I'll be 29 soon and I'm disabled. For those who aren't, learn self-defense and know that it's okay to be a loner.
Its NOT a "red flag" if you don't have friends.
I'm an introvert and have been for years. I'd rather be an introverted loner, "awkward", "boring"/"basic"/"mid" and alone than to be surrounded by snakes/fake friends! That's just me though.

I knew the “friend” probably wouldn’t have confronted the bully but I assumed she had alerted a teacher for help…nope ..she was eating her lunch totally unbothered. When I got out of the situation (basically after crying like a baby and saying I was broke and the bully finally left me alone) I asked the “friend” why she had left me and didn’t get help and she claimed she didn’t see anything, when the bully literally stopped us in our tracks. After that I always saw this “friend” in a different light. Like bitch, you could have at least alerted a teacher if you were afraid of the bully. Commenting because I was always the girl who had other people's back and then usually got NOTHING back. To give frame of reference, I'd be the girl calling the police when I saw things off with strangers and stay with the girl, support them if a guy wouldn't go away, walk them home at night because I'm taller (this is something my shorter friends said makes them feel safer) etc. They had no problem hanging around to use me for fringe 'pretty privileges' but weren't anywhere when it came to actually having my back when it was their turn. They refused to believe I might need help and support just because I'm pretty and have my material stuff together. Materially being together is basic, bare minimum you should be doing, it's just exaggerated because how I look. This is why all the pretty privilege narratives bothers me. It's not privilege, it's perks at most(like EVERYONE has in some degree). I'm sooooooo happy I don't know girls like that anymore. Might be why your pretty friend isn't there anymore. You want thr benefits of her looks but wouldn't be there when it's your turn to be a friend.

We had hung out for well over 4 years and I thought we were all cool with each other. One night while we were out, I was getting harassed by some dude, he would not leave me alone. But because the pick me's in the group wanted this guy, they turned on me and said I was in the wrong. The left me where we were hanging out downtown and left with this guy and his friends. These were girls that I made sure got home and everyone was safe, all the time. Nope, done. I guarantee this girl is going to get herself into a situation and wish she had people helping her.

Years later we still have the video. She got her own show on the Las Vegas Strip, but broke her leg two weeks before the opening. I took time off from my job to work as her personal assistant to get her ready for the opening. I gave her perfumes and golden oils, a sweet little dress for a first date. When she needs editing work for her book I’m there. When I need an ear, or advice, like when I broke my leg, even though she moved back to Canada she’s there for me. She’s my friend. Period.

I love and agree with the concept of an everything friend. But I don’t get why people are using this scenario and being like “this is why I don’t have friends” as if most girls act like this… there are plenty of lovely ladies out there to be friends with… using one rotten apple as an example of why you can’t be friends with one of 8 billion people on this planet (even online) is weird.

    • @marissa._
      @marissa._ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

Obviously its more than "one bad apple" if they feel more safer being alone and friendless.
Clearly, people are speaking from multiple experiences they've previously had.
One bad encounter isn't going to cause everyone to say no to friendships. That's a buildup that takes time to get to that point. Just like when a person goes no-contact with their toxic parents/family members; it takes multiple instances to get to that point.
Its not a "red flag" to not have friends. Nor is it "weird!"
Some people just aren't good at making friends and that's okay. It doesn't come naturally to everyone.
Some people prefer being a loner and like being in their own company.
      Some people are naturally introverts.
Its not law or a sin to be friendless. Acting as if its mandatory to have friendships is strange.

Have one amazing female friend. We tried to bring an another friend into the group, be a triple best friend group, thought all that “it’s impossible” stuff was fake. Tell me how this adult woman used both of our homes, used our parents, centered herself, made everything we did a problem from ‘talking to her too early being annoying to not saying good morning meaning we hate her’, tried to get the two of us to stop being friends while I was already very depressed from moving back home, and think we’d somehow all still be friends after that behavior and like her more than each other. Men can be insane but women can be straight up delusional about what reality is.
