I had my Gen 2 BUSA ECU flashed this week, it went from 174BHP to 189BHP and the way it now makes the power in unbelievable compared to stock, it amazed me. I also had the speed limiter removed as well. Money better spent than on a PC5 and i went with the popping :) The reason being is if you dont have the popping its very very slightly less responsive when opening up the throttle as well - i like the pops
@@300zxdriver he said it's in the tune. Something about fuel cut off at deceleration. If you leave the fuel on then it pops. But if it's turned off during off throttle it does it.
He said in the video it's the off throttle fuel cutoff disabled. The Injectors from factory are programmed to shut off when you let off the throttle. If you disable that you get pops on deceleration.
Love the popping,it would be great if you could put in on an A/B switch to turn it on and off.Back in the 80’s in the carburetor days we would wind out a gear shut ignition off twist the throttle a few times turn key back on let clutch out get big bang get enough fuel flowing through it catch your exhaust packing on fire cruise the lots with the fire blowing.❤️🏍🔥💯🇺🇸👍
The popping sounds are cool at times. But if you're good at feathering your throttle you can get a similar reaction & sound on a properly tuned bike (along with a pair valve removed). But I gotta admit...That Big Brock's Banner looks like it wants to 🤣 😂 at that Yosh system trying to perform...😉
I've always thought of the Hayabusa as "refined rowdiness" lol. With that thought in mind I don't think the pops and bangs suit it. But that's what's great about customizing a bike-the owner can have it however they like!
I have the black one if these with exactly the same exhaust and PC5. I must say great torque but i thought maybe horsepower would hit 200 or so? Not that it really needs too. Gotta say my bike has scary endless grunt as it is😮. This tune was some time ago? Are you still happy with it?
Beautiful Busa! My tuners did this deceleration popping to my custom Gixxer 1000. I lasted about 2 months with it. Many people liked it and complimented when I would pull up to a light, into a parking lot or other places. But it just drove me nuts after a while.
The pops and flames are cool. Do you tune any 2000 Gen1 busa’s with sprint air filter, full Brocks alien head exhaust, Brocks block off plates, air box mod and PCV? I know you will zero out the PCV. How much is the ecu flash and tune?
Great video, Chris. I have a 2013 Hayabusa and this is the most informative video I've seen. I'd considered doing a full system on mine, and my local guy suggested tweaking the ECU as opposed to Power Commander as well, but I wasn't sure about it. Also didn't know the factory system weighs so much! Hopefully I can do similar mods next spring. As for the popping, I'm with a lot of the other guys here...it becomes annoying after a bit, especially on and off the throttle in a canyon (yes, I actually ride the twisties with mine). Love the flames though. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Just a question: Have you used the chip from the Yoshimura, or this is just from the muffler, or maybe have you taken out (shot off), because i know the Akrapovic sale her muffler with chip. Do you recommended to make an ECU Flesh on a Busa Gen2 with over 60.000km or maybe less. I have this question because i own a gen2 Busa to and she is my babe, for me it's the best build bike ever. A 2015 rsv4 with a slip on will have 185rw and 112nm honestly the busa was played out around 2010 I mean a 2013 1199s will have 180rw and 110nm stock. I think Chris is right. This is a fat man's bike.

That busa would punish the rsv4 in a race. Ducatis and Aprilias arent meant for straight line racing so many videos of them getting smoked by kawi's and gsxr's.

idk how so many people hate the popping, it's not like it's going on all the time, high rpm roll-offs it's not too bad, it's nice deep pops not ear piercing, it only starts popping when you're coasting for a long time, and when do you really do that? You're usually going steady throttle or on and off for less than a second, it wouldn't be popping if you do that. And it's just cool af at night time...
Random question but do you have any videos of a zx12r on your dyno? Didn't see any but may have missed it. Curious to see what you can make happen with a well setup zx12r and some good tuning. 2000 model would be awesome but any year would work. Used to own a 2000 model myself and was a blast. Had all kinds of bolt ons but never on a dyno so no clue what it made. I know its nothing like most of the brand new bikes. Would love another.

Just subscribed man! I'm thinking of getting the new Gen 3 'Busa, which we know has that new Euro5 restrictive junk... Other than the emissions chokehold, according to the specs the new engine appears to have even more potential than before. It's built stronger and has components that should be making more power than the 2nd gen. Am I correct in believing there's a bigger beast lurking once the emissions junk is 'fixed'? Surely they neutered it more than the last gen within the computer too, right? Are you yet able to get your hands on and tune the 2022? It just seems wrong the Mighty 1340cc Hayabusa that we've waited forever for is less powerful than all the liter bikes (including Suzuki's own), and even the ancient 2008 'Busa with all the advancements in technology since then. The liter bikes all pass emissions too, and without excuses! Its not like 'Hayabusa' to be less than the most powerful beast around! Torque doesn't sell- its HP. Thanks for the input about the new one and tuning it!
How much Difference is there between the ecu settings on your gsxr 1000 and a mail in flash i know its dyno tuned for that bike but I'm curious if u had 2 different gsxr's and swapped ecu's around what how they would respond 🤔 might be a good video and I'm also pulling mine out today to send to you 😁
Quentin Chris will give you a Reflashed ECU with the factory limits taken off, so "unrestricted" you may need to get on a Dyno and do the fine tunning to your bike. But you are starting with a 99.99% tuned ECU. There will be a difference in your air quality/temp/etc....

could do for a while, really PCV, rapidbike ECUs, Bazzaz and all that jazz is pointless anymore. Most of the time if you buy and ECU flash kit it's cheaper even, cleaner on the wires, no slicing and modifying needed, and you can retune it whenever you want to. You can often use PCV maps on regular ECU tuning software, I know Woolich probably do it.
Not a poppin' guy myself. Like a fart pipe on a Miata. Added fuel eh? Ignition maps changes can cause some serious damage? Like detonation? Like the neutral rev limiter too. Sure would like the WR software myself. $$$$

We have a big sport bike scene in DFW drag and roll. Chris you need to bring your crew to XRP at some point. Anyway my question is Flash and tune. So I understand it can be flashed without tuned. So I say you tune it and the question has arose from my friends that a SC tune won’t necessarily work in Texas due to basically the weather. From what I’ve learned a tune is basically getting the air fuel correct. Not saying I’m right or that’s all but if that’s the case and it’s set will it change. Or what am I missing. I do go to the track for fun and roll race for fun. And I’ve learned since I have a ZX10R if I run 600cc bikes I always win. Hahah I truly just having fun riding bikes. But all I want for the ZX10R and my new Busa is decat and add a muffler with the popping. Hope that wasn’t confusing.
I like the 'pops', but not at the expense of fuel economy. Yeah, I'm 'different'! My Ninja 300 is tuned and with full Leo Vince Exhaust (heat wrapped) sounds gnarly (parallel twin has a deep Chinook helicopter sound at certain RPMs, a growl, and blam-blam at other rpm's), pops and shoots flames, and I love it. But i know the backfires are a result of excess fuel in exhaust igniting after 'letting off'. That's fuel that wasn't converted into HP😉!

Pro popping.......This one pops more than I expected but I love to hear that on my R1. I purposefully accel then decel just to hear it.

Always thought popping like that on decel indicated low end too lean. Don't dig the popping
