if you only knew how her ex husband was an emotionally abusive and disturbing man. she's pretty shaken up from that marriage. but you're right - she's such a down to earth woman who just wants to cook you a great meal with no fuss no muss.

am i flipping through episodes to find nigella when she was younger and closer to my age? yes. am I doing this to live out some sort of fantasy? maybe. is it impeding on me learning actual cooking skills: no. therefore all is right with the world, please carry on

She most likely was when this was filmed. She had just load her husband to throat cancer during production leaving behind his 2 little children. You can see the sadness behind her eyes at times during these early episodes. I believe it was her husbands idea to produce this also.

I agree. There’s a nervous energy to her presentation in this series, with words anxiously flying out of her mouth like a thesaurus on fire. I prefer Julia Child’s or Lidia Bastianich’s more relaxing manner. I cook to unwind, not to continue my workday.

She is not even marinating the lamb. Throws just water in the tin rather than using stock.

You ensure it is cooked at it is at temperature. The meat is well done, not medium or rare
