Great idea of chickpeas and fish . We Indians eat lots of chickpeas but I have never seen them being cooked in combination with any type of meat . Good idea ........ worth trying someday .

Had been looking forward to cooking this for a few months and finally found the time tonight...and was disappointed. I did the recipe pretty much as advised, although the quantities weren't specific in the video but I pretty much copied what she did. I didn't think the sauce was very nice and I wasn't too fond of the mullet either, although it all went. The part I enjoyed most was the chickpeas. Should have just cooked chickpeas! I have a feeling she over emphasised not cooking for long. In my opinion the onion mix needed longer to cook, the fish needed quite a while to crisp, and the sauce needed a while to thicken (and more anchovies and butter). 4/10
this series was filmed while her husband, father of her two small children and love of her life, John Diamond, was dying/had just died of throat cancer.. it was a stressful time for her and you can see that
There is something very comforting about watching Nigella. I wish a fresh variety of fish was available here. The red mullet looks so delicious!
