  • Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself this one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" And because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally say goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.
Please make sure to stick with me so we can explore new exotic places together.
    Let the adventures begin!
Thanks so much for your support.

I stayed at Suratthani meditation center for 11 days in about 2006. Practice annapanasiti and my own mix/flavor, Dalai Lamas Tantric Buddhism, some Zen a long time ago. Shri Chinmoy in Seattle too ( he passed away a few ago (NY) ).

Such beautiful views of the mountains! 😍 It is quite unfortunate that they built the hotel so tall that it blocks the views. Hopefully, there are no other plans to build other tall buildings. I also hope they can replace the bridges. I was actually fearful of you walking over them. Those wooden planks looked so terrible. Thanks for taking us on a lovely morning walk. That smoothie looked delicious, by the way! 😋❤

I hope that they won't put any more tall building to block the views. The sad thing about Laos is that there is no law stopping people from building unnecessary buildings to spoil the beauty of nature. Luang Prabang is well kept due to the UNESCO.
And let's hope that they replace the bridge before the rainy season. I just can't imagine children riding their bikes over this bridge when it is slippery.
Thank you always for watching and following my adventures.🙂🙏😊

Thank you. Lao culture is still well preserved. The more remote you go, the more authentic it is. 🙂

Very nice view from the river. Is the river area centrally located? Can you get to places like the market and tour offices by walking?
Oh my goodness those bridges look scary.
You rode the motorbike from Vientiane?
Thanks for exploring Laos for us. 😊

Yes Vang Vieng is as small as Luang Prabang. Everything is pretty much located in the center. It took me only 5 minutes walking from my hostel to the river. And 2 minutes to the local market.
I recommend this place, especially if you are into scenery and hiking. The viewpoints are nice. And hopefully they will replace the bridge soonest.
Yup, we rode the bike all the way from VTE. It was quite adventurous but fun.🙂😊

It is sad for the local economy, but after what happened, it is understandable. I personally prefer when it is quiet. I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Thank you. I hope the government will propose the new law to ban it. It spoils the whole scenery.

Those bridges are very dangerous. I have seen that kind of bridge covering two narrow steel belts in your previous video

I hope they will fix it soon. Imagine doing the wet season. In fact this is nothing compared to some bridges I've seen in Laos.🙂😔

How much is a honda off/on road legal bike like that, maybe a bit bigger and taller for tall western person and 2 persons, used, approx, do you think? Either Laos or Thai? That seems perfect for SE Asia, Borneo, Indonesia, Bali, etc. ride. put on train or ferry, etc. extra gas container...I have motorcycle , no had, have bus/car/chaffuer license and russian issue international lic!

The price varies depending on the condition and the year. For used one 250L or 300L in Laos would cost roughly around $4,000-$5,000 with all the documents. In my opinion it is better to get it in Thailand. You have more options and also much cheaper than in Laos. When this type of bike comes to Laos, it cost more due to the tax.
