    Hi John, Neil's QV is immaculate. It's very impressive that he keeps it so well maintained, with all the use it's been getting. There are several questions I would like to ask Neil about his QV and have sent you another note under separate cover. Great video, btw. If I could give it a double thumbs-up, I would!

    That is a beautiful Quattovelo. Neil talks about what I think is quite a big problem with tadpole trikes which is that the rear wheel can lose traction on slippery surfaces going up hills. For me that is a huge appeal of the QV, that it has two driven wheels at the back.

    One of your videos helped me settle on my first recumbent. Got a HP Velotechnik Speedmachine just the other day, took about 3 months before it arrived because of Covid. It's been great so far, though I've crashed many times and pulled some muscles trying to catch myself lol. Still building that muscle memory.

    I like this series of « My Bike » videos. Always good to hear others experience. You don’t publish videos often enough. I realise more videos equals extra work for you but hey. This is my pleasure we are talking about here!
    Might I request you do a series on the differences available on recumbent bikes? ie mountain drive over Schlumpf over standard etc. Difference the choice of tyres make to the performance/comfort of the machine.

    Another super interview!
    I love the pump placement (I have the same pump) and tire monitor.
    Thanks Neil Fleming for sharing.
    .
    Did you ask Neil about the red cord attached to his hood? Why he uses it instead of the default straps?
    Edit: I see now. It's just a more easy way to pull the hood down. He's still using the default straps to secure the hood.
    Edit2: Pump placement nogo for me because of laptop bag.

    Hey John, great video as always. I had an extra interest in this one in particular because I'm about to change my dfxl for a qv, which I have to spec for production the next two months. And as I live in the hills around Frankfurt (you made your own experience with them) I'm interested in your "UK" specs. What are they and what rear brakes did Neil have on his?

    How do u secure it if yr going to the shops or somewhere where u can’t store it? And why is the steering wheel so small. It looks like u can’t steer it probably like a normal bike.

    I'm making a mental note to issue him some new BHPC timing tags.
    They're ruining the clean lines by peeling off like that!

    Hey John! Good to see more QVs appearing over here!
    I run on 1.5" Marathons on the front, with Marathon Plus 1.75' on the back, all wheels lined with "Flataway Tape." Only 1 flat that I can recall, and that was a right PAIN! Pressures are between 50 and 67 psi. My pump can't push in more than that, and while that is great on the road, on the cycle track I feel like the last coffee bean in the grinder, rattling around, as it is :-).
    As for keeping clean: When she gets wet, (like this morning :-(, I keep some rags in the back to wipe her down before she gets put away. Keeps fairly clean, without actually WASHING. (Dirty word: washing!)
    Surprised you haven't got a tyre monitor yet! I would be lost without mine.
    www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YTG7X3S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    is where I got mine from, the same as Neil's, if you are interested.

    I know that this comment isn't completely about this video.
    Reason why, is that I have a question for you. Since you have provided me with amazing information about the Quatrovelo.
    What's the difference between the Race visor, and the basic visor? Or, can you have both of them together at the same time?

  • @4nz-nl
    @4nz-nl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    LOL, that about the flat tyre... had exactly that! Was wondering why I had such a hard time maintaining 40, thought it was a headwind first (because here in NL, we don't have hills). When I couldn't keep up with a normal cyclist, I decided to stop for a check and found a flat, hehe. What brand/type is the tyre measurement tool?

    Could you tell what the add-ons were that he presented? The pump, tyre pressure sensor, surveillance cam (or what was he talking about?), Batteries and helmet? Thank you very much!

    • @coniow
      @coniow 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jonabub: The tyre pressure monitor is a "TyreMoni 150" and can be bought from Amazon.
      www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YTG7X3S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      I fitted one to mine when I first got it, and it has been a god send! Easy to check for hard tyres before a ride, and if you press the right button it lights up the display and shows the tyre temperatures. But the light also burns up the batteries so I tend to use a torch that I keep in the side pocket. When you have the rain cover on, it is quite dark inside! although you can still see the displays when you look down to see if you are exceeding the speed limit LOL.
