      When you get locked into a niche I think the main thing that will help you break out and have more fun at the same time is the way you present and deliver the information. It's a strategy I'm employing and its working wonders for me especially since I'm a tutorial based channel.

    You found the niche - stuff we can use that no one else is telling us. I can find dozens of videos about the same topics TH-camrs make, but it feels like they are holding back - and here you are, giving us things a newb like me can figure out how to do to level up a bit. Thank you!

      I agree, I feel like generally the TH-cam tips niche is getting repetitive or that they aren’t actually sharing how they got so many subscribers. That’s why I’m working on a second experimental channel, should hopefully result in some interesting videos.

    I love that you don’t provide the same regurgitated “growth hacks”, rather strategies we can actually implement, like for example I followed along with your recreating thumbnails video in Photoshop and it taught me so much - which I then went and applied to MY thumbnails. Also, your videos about defining your target audience and creating viewer personas have been absolute game changers. Thanks again, I really appreciate everything you do :)

    Sound design is SOOOOO important and often overlooked (or misunderstood/misused) by creators. I learned early on how good sound quality, use of music & sound effects, & using high quality audio recording gear can make or break a video, so I take my time with the sound in all my videos.
    PS: Love your channel and I’m really glad you’re growing so quickly now. Well deserved, & keep up the great work! 👍

    I am always looking for ways to improve my content. I have found your channel so helpful. Your videos have been a breath of fresh air! Even my best videos have always been on a steady decline in viewers in Analytics with 5-10 percent watching to the end and 25- APV. You have really made me focus on what my viewing community like to watch and accept that it is updates and reviews and not let's plays. I have overhauled my videos and revisited past videos and realised that things I though would be entertaining, actually often caused big dips in retention because it wasn't relevant.... I watched a ton of your videos and 2 days ago published my first video put together off the back of all your advice.Your tutorials have taken this video to a 37% viewing right up to the last 20 sec wrap up dropping to 26% to the end, and a 40.9% APV.... still a ways to go but this is huge for me! Thank you for all your advice... I look forward to much more in the future 🐝

    So I’ve been thinking about this lately with my own videos. I did spend quite some time adding sound effects and stuff in my videos. But now I just find them kind of annoying (if it’s overdone) since they do kind of interfere in a way. There’s so many TH-camrs (ok only a few I follow) who ends up hireing a video editor who apparently also loves sound design and the video turns into an distracting show-reel for the *editor* and I just can’t think of anything else than that while watching. Btw this was not critique for this video It just made me think of this. I look forward to see your channel outgrow the other TH-cam gurus because I’m so tired of their generic advice that just make people waste time on what’s not even important

    • @FilmBooth
      @FilmBooth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thats a valid point to be fair, I know what you mean, I'm over the top with my editing a lot of the time because I want to make the point obvious, its def not the right approach for every channel, it really depends on the audience watching.

    • @Mattiaskrantz
      @Mattiaskrantz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@FilmBooth yeah! I mean you do it kind of to give a break from the talking head. Which I think is great use and it definitely helps with your retention (and adds something to the videos). The ones I’m imagining is non-stop and often way too loud soundtrack throughout the entire videos. I used to do it myself😅😅

      Hey Mattias nice to see you here. I am a fan of you. Your right it can be overdo it with sound or video fx every 5 seconds in a video. Also the fact that YT hire others to cut and edit ther own videos is a bit strange in cases when a fanbase loves the creator exactly for his personal creativity and style of editing.

    I managed to get over 20k subs with no editing and no guidance, however I've watched a fair bit of your channel and you make some amazing points! I'm hoping to incorporate the vast majority of things you've talked about into my channel starting now. B-roll, j-cuts, l-cuts, checking my audience retention rates ect and hopefully I can make better content for my watchers. Thank you ☺️

    Another very useful video. My Last video had much more TH-cam search and browse suggestion sources. Now this one will help with retention thanks to this and your previous tips. Thanks heaps!

    Very good. I've been using sound effects in my last few videos and it's been fun. I also feel it's helped with retention. Thanks for sharing the guidelines, they're excellent.
