Loved that you focused on Intro's so much. It's like a serve in tennis. if you don't hit the ball in, you can't even play. If you don't hit an intro well, no one is going to watch the rest of your vid. Even if it's a banger. Glad to see other people critically thinking about their TH-cam vids.

    Love the d&b intro - so that's what we're missing! :D
Ed, thank you so much for reviewing our video. The points make a lot of sense and are something we didn't consider. You're right - our current intro doesn't sell it very well.
At the time, we always assumed each video was part of a series on Guildford as opposed to individually packaged video guides ready to go. Which perhaps is why we didn't have the 'wah wah wee wah' effect. Your points have inspired us to get that 'uumph' upfront along with sections of the best bits from the video for our upcoming videos!
Also, we've worked on the pacing tips you mentioned for another video - it's really helped to make it more engaging. 🙌

Wow! Just wow! Especially I enjoyed the last one. I edit my own videos, and do not build anything like you were teaching we should. I have so much to learn! Thank you!

    Hi there from Italy!
I just really wanted to thank you, you're simply a genious and I love your content, that's why I'm bidgewatching your videos in these days. According to your same videos people use to do that when they discover the channel. Ahahahaah
I wish you all the best, this is one of the best channels I ever discovered.
    Ciao!
    Arthur

Love that you actually showed us the impact small edits could have. It's a mindset, isn't it?!

Really love these types of videos as it helps me as an editor going through the learning phase of what works and what doesn't. Would be nice if you could maybe replay both back to back instead of going back and finding it to compare. Or split screen, but then you'd have sound conflict.

This earns you a subscriber, thanks! I don't have an active YT channel but I may do one day, so I'm kind of bookmarking helpful resources, and I think you have some great information on your channel.
One small thing... I actually *don't like* videos that start without any pause. This is because I happen to hate TH-cam's habit of instantly playing videos before I've hit PLAY. I prefer to get everything how I want it - full screen, comments refreshed, everything perfect. Only then am I ready to play the video. If I try to pause a video and rewind it to the start so I can do all that stuff, the player is unresponsive for a couple of seconds and it's quite frustrating hearing the opening voiceover or whatever, knowing that in a second or two I'm going to be pausing it and rewinding it anyway. I actually like it when a video has a slow opening with a few seconds of a silent logo, for example, so that I have time to do all that stuff. I guess I'm not in a major demographic, but that's how I happen to do things :)

What an excellent presentation, just gives you to show what massive difference few small tweaks by an experienced hand can make on any video.
