  • Trying to BBQ the perfect souvlaki and can't quite get it right? This video shows you how to create souvlaki at home that beats the restaurant one. Start by getting some thick cut pork shoulder steaks (got mine from Lidl at £6.29 for a pack of 8). Cut them to cubes of about 1 inch thick. Pass the cubes through wooden skewers and left to rest covered in the fridge for a couple of hours. For the marinade/drizzle, you will need a lemon, virgin olive oil, onion and garlic granules, salt, pepper and oregano. Make a mix of the ingredients and set aside. On a hot grill (no flame though) place your souvlakia and brush with the marinade. Turn every 5 minutes or so. Total cooking time will average 20 minutes, but be sure to cook through as pork should not be eaten pink. Serve with some bread and tzatziki. On how to make tzatziki see • tzatziki sauce
