Right?? Like of course you can exploit the game with a character that is straight-up cheating. It's not only the 100 stats, but it's also the ridiculous piety, prestige and skill gain that is allowing him to declare and then cheese all those wars. Abducting a King with a normally skilled character (even with high intrigue) is already very hard, you need them to be shit at intrigue and their spymaster to be either a moron or colluded with you AND you need a claim to their kingdom, which is not exactly easy to get either. If you manage all that it's fair and square you can snatch his kingdom off him. Although I do hope they rework the kidnap/imprison mechanic so that if you imprison a character that way (or through unlawful imprisonment if they are your councillor) they can refuse to accept your terms and their heir and their vassals can instantly rebel (like how it happened most of the time when something like this took place historically, or in ASOIAF, lol).

that's the entire point of the series: how crazy can Spiff make that timeline with mods/cheats on his character.
Exactly, hes playing a maxed out piety/intrigue/martial/learning character at the same time. Its like using all the late game exploits at once. You couldnt do all of this in one rulers lifetime without cheats

If I remember right, he used to use stock Shutterstock images, but got a C&D or something (there was/is a legal reason for it). There was a video where he was asking if he should use his own watermark or no watermark at all, and the community decided on using his own watermark
@@masterloard If I recall correctly it was because while the images were public domain the water marks were not. It was something weird like that I think. I believe it was copyright claims. it was a clusterfuck regardless.

jokes on you, i actually did the skillpoint exploit and now have a pure-blooded dude who can comfortably rule a vassal-free southern half of east francia i basically turned west franconia into alabama bunny sim and also became god aka blood-father in the process. it‘s ridiculous. my wife is also my daughter and grand-daughter and one of my concubines is my mother and the other two are daughters that i had with my daughter-grand-daughter-wife, making them great-grand-daughters and the kids i have with my mother are half-siblings of mine. but hey, 74 stewardship at age 48.

Normally I feel bad about exploiting a game, but planning a kidnapping the day you declare war on a nation actually sounds quite feasible.
IDK. When someone with a massive army gains a claim on my kingdom I immediately switch my spymaster to disrupt schemes if they're not already doing so. IRL security for rulers gets bumped way up if there's fuckery afoot. Still, this exploit is a ton of fun and definitely worth checking out.
@@THEORIGINALFrostByte Historically speaking the capture of rulers most often in battle but also often kidnappings/assassinations from their camps did end many wars. (though several others continued despite that as a captured ruler has less influence over his people and if he is let go he might go back on his word so not the instant win that the game depicts.) the real-life escalation of security for rulers at war occurred as a reaction of this tendency and sometimes their court might even overrule the king's actual wishes to prevent rulers and heirs being used as bargaining chips.
My assumption is that in a world where you don't have 100 intrigue, kidnapping the ruler of an entire kingdom/empire is probably a crazy low chance.

Matt Miller That probably happened in game but to be fair it really ruins the balance when you have 100 intrigue. What would’ve been a 5% chance becomes a 95% chance.
Granted the chances are still higher than they should be, and need some tweaking, but if you cheat everything to 100 stats of course it’ll be easy mathematically.

Funny enough I don't think that planning to capture/kill the leader of the opposing faction before declaring war in order to win said war as quickly as possible is an unfair or unintended exploit. It's historically proven tactic that the game rewards you for using.
I want to point out that the game isn’t actually THAT broken, he is using mods to grant him insane Piety and Prestige and troops, in the base game it actually takes a long time to reform/create a new faith, and the Buy Claim option is only guaranteed because he is the head of his faith, whereas in Catholicism, the Pope won’t accept and Buy Claim request if you’re already powerful, and the Buy Claim requests cost a lot of piety that would take a long time to earn in vanilla, AND LASTLY, the perks needed to utilize all these tactics like buy claim, abduct, invade, win, take a decently long time to earn so Please understand that it’s not really THAT broken, this is more like an end game/long-term op tactic that you could shoot for but it’ll take a really long time, I think it would suck if paradox removed this because it would be removing a fun end-game goal rather than “Fixing” the game
And the only reason he’s not fighting 10 wars including rebellions and factions is because he has insane prestige/piety and all the perks and 100 stats that are impossible to do in vanilla
@@ZM145234974521E and also for the same reason you already mentioned, being a head of a reformed/created faith where the majority of the vassals converted immediatly lowers all separatism, making factions incredibly weak/unable to fire wars. Realistically you spend a decent amount of years converting culture, and religion, if necessary, after invading a whole kingdom, for example, just so your lands stabilize.
@@ZM145234974521E Well but on the other side... going down the Family Head Tree in the Diplomacy Lifestyle, giving you 3 skill points per Child, that you befriend... if they all land in one stat, you may achieve 100 stat points in one stat.
And even if not, having a dude with all around ~20ish-30ish stats is also pretty strong.
@@MagiconIce true, but even finishing a single learning tree takes a lot of in-game years, and multiple events going favourably. Even cheating a bit, or using boosting mods it still takes a lot more time to do all this that was shown in the video. I've been using the ruler designer mod, and even with an op starting character you take a lot of time to be able to pull something like this off.

@@josephmclaughlin933 Not if you legitimately acquired the immortal trait. (Don't know if that exists in CK3, but it does in CK2) Even if you were 50, as long as you're immortal, and male, you can still have loads of kids.
Also, he said it'd be easier if you had the norse mythology. Concubines would speed it up 4 fold. Even without immortality, you'd get pretty good stats by the time you were 40yrs old. Maybe not 100, but pretty high. 50 is still overwhelming. At 40yrs old, you'd still have at least a decade to obliterate your enemies. Once that character dies, make another. Rinse and repeat. Get the genius trait into your family. Find really good teachers.

@@GRom4232 Well, for the whole youtube thing to be sustainable you have to keep putting out videos and there's only so many actual game breaking exploits in the game you picked to go around. That being said it's kinda disappointing in this case because there really was more cheese in CK3 even without cheating.
@@DonPiantissimo I think you can still make interesting videos wherein you break the game using cheats or mods, but like it's the framing itself that's specifically irksome.
I don't remember what video or what game it was, some 4X game, where he turned on a bunch of in game modifiers to make a custom civilization to play as with like a dozen extra bonuses to make an already good civilization into one that was just insanely broken, and it was the same issue of framing the game itself as exploitable or broken when you're just effectively cheating. Which, again, can be very fun to watch - it's just the issue of framing it that way feels very dishonest, which apparently I feel weirdly strongly about.
100 stat man has never been about the exploits, just goofing around with max stats.

there's actually a pretty fun mod for actually becoming a god and forming a preset religion and culture based on the ancient european faiths, with events included and an immortal trait with insane boosts, it's also very broken, but it's way more fun than just pressing a cheat button since you still have to play the game to some capacity.

There is a rather impressive divide in the comments over this series continuing and the use of cheats to break the game. I am unsure how to feel about this.
Using cheats takes away the charm of the videos, if using cheats continues then I'll probably stop watching...

Most of what he's doing can be done in a cheat-free environment as well, he'd just have to worry about some bad rolls once in a while. Besides, let's not even pretend like people don't save before doing something risky and just reload the save if it fails. The people who want to force a result will, with or without cheats. This just removes most of the hassle, but he can still fail rolls and die from an infection due to a splinter or whatever if unlucky.

Are these really exploits when you're using 3rd party software to boost your stats? These mechanics are perfectly reasonable when your stats are at a normal level.

mm... while these things are in the game, you sorta yeeted past any difficulty with the cheat menu. Normally to get absurd stats like that... well you are gonna need almost 2 decades worth of lifestyle traits. Then you'll need to switch over to intrigue for another 2 decades.... and you can only start that when you are 16. It's not really very likely.Right... also to buy claims you'll need another 2 decades down the learning tree.
So you'll be like 60-70 ~ or so by the time you pick up that stuff... seems kinda balanced. Because without cheats, you are pretty much dead around then.

You fail to realize this is a 100statmam video not an exploit video, but in ck2 I always get to be at least 86 so I guess that translates into 26 years of what you call balanced game breaking.

The biggest exploit is the abduct then declare war strat. That can be achieved without 100 stats if you push intrigue as much as possible. It seems like an easy way to go from vassal to ruler of all europe. While it may take a few generations to get the intrigue traits needed, once you have them you can take entire empires in days. Then the only difficulty is maintaining them.
Just get a claim on everything literally everything then declare war on the entire world at once with one county as 100 stat man might just might pose a challenge for him~

That irked me also in the beginning, but the relevant exploits displayed in the video are still valid: the cheating simply made it faster and easier to display without getting bogged down in the irrelevant parts.
@@LazarethPrime I don't think so. It takes you a really long time to get there. And by that time your character is pretty much dead. So you only have a really small window in which you could actually pull this off. If you start your character at a low age that is. If the AI already pre-skilled him because you don't start at an incredibly low age you will die before you get that strong.
It's such a niche "exploit" that needs a huge amount of preparation so I don't see any problem here. Every branch in the skill-tree needs to be viable, so naturally having them all is OP
@@Pheatrix are we talking about kidnapping the title holder to autowin wars? Because that's one of my primary exploit takeaways, and while it does require setup it is far easier than what you imply.
The cheating is exactly to do it all within one lifetime, but one liftetime is not what is needed to do it.
Again, the cheating is just to speed things up and show all of the shenanigans. Trivially the cheating will make it easier and faster, that is sort of the point, but it is not required to do it at all.

Even so, it’s still a 100 stat man video, and the exploit can still be pulled off, it just requires over half the ruler’s life expectancy.

He used plenty of legitimate exploits, though. Save for spending 50 hours on one save to MAYBE get 50 in two stats, this is what you're gonna get.

Let's assume that instead of cheating, he utilized the approach via the patriarchy skill tree. Let's say he actually gets 30 children and 3 skill points per child. First of all, that's only 90 stat points, whereas the cheat gave him 540 (600 post-cheat, subtracting Mega Chad's starting values of 60). So there's still a monumental gap of 450 stat points unexplained.
Then, there is the question of how old the character will be after all of that. Certainly not 32, I can tell you that much.
There is no magical exploit to become 100 stat man. And consequentially all the other "exploits" that this video supposedly highlights are grossly misrepresented. Everything would be different if your plots have a 35% success rate instead of the magical 95%.
Not saying CK3 is balanced at all, it is not. But the whole premise of "I'll show you how unbalanced this game is, let's start by massively cheating" was indeed a bit disappointing.
It's as if I say "I'll show you how unbalanced chess is. Let's start with me putting an additional 20 white queens on the board".

Because of how inheritance laws are set up to boycott your empire building efforts until very late in the game, having many children can be a struggle, but there ways to cheese it out without cheats. You can disinherit a child you don't want to play with, and then land them so it still counts towards dynastic renown boosts, then marrying them to foreign rulers' heirs so that your dynasty swallows that kingdom as a vassal. Or you can go on the title menu and pay prestige to change your titles' inheritance laws manually and bypassing partition laws.
not really an exploit when you're using an outside mod to do it, I do enjoy a lot of your vids, but all the ones where you actually change the files of the original game stop them from being exploits and make them hacks instead to me aren't quit as good for me.

The 3 day war: the most overpowered war tactic, and by any means, actually makes sense. Makes for a great D&D one-shot story as well.
