In this live stream the spiffing brit attempts a world conquest as great Britain / the british empire. We are going to exploit the puppet mechanic of vic 3 to generate far too much money and be able to control the known world! Also endless opium wars against qing china because why not! I love how Paradox is really big into ‘what if’ questions. Like, “what if England had signed a treaty with aliens and, thus, had had teleportation in the mid 1800s? And then they were lead by a god like, all seeing man with an immaculate accent and a Corgi?” Now we know.
And a Corgi? Brit has a Corgi!? That's awesome! I love Corgis! I had a purebred Pekingese myself when I was younger, but Corgis are adorable too!
This was such a great stream, we were left on cliffhanger of Spiff saying "Have a good-" something that was cutted off. Anyways I would like to see Spiff play Ottomans or Egypt(Both of them are what I'm interested in playing).
I'm so impressed by the French AI pulling that off, that looks like an entertaining computer enemy.

@@RecklessFables nah an exploit isn't a big deal, considering it's essentially optional and you have to be looking for them to actually run into them. unless you are trying to break the game, the game won't break, and that's all that matters.

Paradox always has so many weird interactions of numbers in the simulations, Navies are almost always irrelevant, and in the first day of the First Opium War here the British lost more men than they did in the entire nearly 3 years of the actual First Opium War.
I think its just what happens when you need to make a one size fits all system and so ends up happening all their historical games. You create a system that has sensible numbers at one point but it ends up getting weird at another point. And PDX games also have the issue that wars are pretty much always all in affairs, theres no real reason why combat will be limited when troops can quickly be moved around.
I love that you can keep my full attention for almost 4 hours more than if I watched an hour long movie. Yes, I watched this VOD in one sitting... Also, I've always loved the thought of RTS games. I've just never had the patience, so it's really nice to watch you play. Especially since you play the way I would want to. Thank you for existing! I'm glad I just found out about you last month, so I have years of spiffy videos to enjoy!

I had to run to work shortly after this kicked off, but excited to see how this panned out for the Great Tea Empire
Spiff mostly forgot the tea part though, the last time he showed us the screen with thast on he was actually producing more of the devils bean juice then tea. I think being invaded by France and losing Wales distracted him a bit.

Why 29:40 no Japanese trade convoys in 1838? This is historically correct. During the isolationist Edo period Japan was almost completely introverted, it pursued a policy of almost absolute isolation for more than two centuries. Trade with foreign countries was before 1853 only conducted through Dutch (and Chinese) merchants as an intermediary.
