Again another good clip. those bottom bolts are so tight to remove. My new shocks came with out the top mounts so I had to use the ones of my old shocks which were ok. Again your spanner tip saved the day for me. thanks
When I'm struggling to get the angle with my torque wrench I flip it the other way and get a jack under it to save struggling not sure if it's right but it works lol
Did it make any noticeable difference to ride quality? My MK4 seems a bit of bumpy ride on roads with lots of repairs. Looked at everything and nothing seems loose or leaking but is original shocks on a 12 year old car with 150k. Is shocks the thing to do or rear bushes, new lower front arms , drop links ? Or it just old everywhere? Would be interested to know if one part you changed made the most difference?
@@BugRacer1955 thanks thats interesting to know , they don't seem to expensive and quite easy to do so I might well start there. Thanks again . Now to choose a brand the prices seem to differ quite a bit.
@@BugRacer1955I bought shocks on auto doc on one of those days when they were discounted, I tried doing it but couldn't get car high enough to use breaker bar to get bottom bolt loose. While I was trying I noticed the trailing arm bushes had expired so it ended up in garage to get the bushes and shocks replaced. I got ford bushes as they were discounted on thier web site and knew they would fit best. Does feel a lot better now! Thanks for the autodoc tip they do seem cheapest ( apart from cheap parts I am not sure about) especially when there's an offer on. I think I will be using autodoc for parts from now on although there delivery time is a more than a week but planning ahead is a good discipline! Cheers
Good video BUT THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN PULL THE INTERNAL DOOR CARD DOWN LIKE THAT ON A MK 4 MONDAO. IT HAS 8 SELF TAPPING SCREWS AROUND THE DOOR CARD WHITCH CAN NOT BE GOT TO WITH THE DOOR IN THE CLOSED POSITION. PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW YOU GOT TO THE MODEUL. LIKE THAT.?

How do you know if they are broken mate
What torque setting did you use on the bolts please mate ?
Hi Matt the lower mount is 175nm (129 lb/ft) upper mount 30nm (22 lb/ft)
Awesome I’ll give that a try if you subscribe to the channel 👍🏻

Hi Mal, thanks for watching I think the door card was removed from the fiesta when I changed the window regulator, more vids coming soon cheers Glyn
I'd rather just spend the 10 quid to get the right tool for the shock mount holder "KS Tools 150.9435" 😅
