Exactly the same procedure for the Volvo V60 P3 year 2011 - 2018🚘. It isn't covered so well on youtube so this is very helpful.

@@ChazzCoombesV70 as well. I might do this job next spring. I noticed that the spring on the right side was broken down at the seat. I plan to drive until I replace both when the weather improves, which would be April or May.

I’m about to change the rear springs on my wife’s 2010 S-Max. This is a really helpful video to watch before doing the job. Thanks for sharing.

Yeap, i tend to leave them in when i make a mistake. Keeps the vids real and show that things do and can go wrong. Cheers mate.

Well done leaving in what can go wrong. It can be the most important part of a video, sometimes.

Great real video. In a week, i hope to have replaced all 4 springs on my mk4. The video shows that it isnt completely necessary to compress the rear springs before removing them, but the front ones have to be compressed , eventually after removing the completely strut included the hub first. Cautions is important

Looks like quite a simple little job, at least compared to doing the brakes on all four corners...... Pitty I can't do it myself any more with no flat ground to work on my car.
I do have to wonder why i'm having SO much trouble getting anyone to quote this job though.
1 place wasn't equipped for it (new garage I decided to try).
3 places still haven't called me back after nearly 7 hours.
1 place refused to believe it was the spring and said they needed to see it, they became even keen to quote when I told i'd had the wheel off and could send them a photo of the broken spring.
It's quite simple, i've diagnosed the problem (broken spring), all they have to do is the required work and any additional complications that crop up. Is the state of garages these days?

Chaz, good show, I now own a Ford Focus Zetec. 1.8tdci, and it has from the factory, a sports suspension set up. It is reported to have a ten mm drop all-round. It doesn't though, have the WRC rear anti rollbar drop links . I will be checking the spring colours now. I am changing the rear engine mount ( Lynx engine ) , as it has gone ( transmition to subframe )
.Very handy this video. Also Chaz, I think your Mondeo should have what's called a
" Crash plate " above the fuel filter housing, mine has, but it's missing, a " lazy mechanic " issue possibly!! ☺☺

Just wondered, where is the best place to find the torque lists for these cars?

  • @darkwaterblue

Rates ford sell genuine springs for peantus on ebay, like 15.99 a spring inc delivery. I try and avoid aftermarket where I can for this reason....

Aren't there supposed to be shock absorbers inside those springs?

    • @shorshhussein5194
      @shorshhussein5194 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Shock absorbers are behind the spring coils.
