I roll with Glyph of totemic recall. The mana return from this glyph basically negates any mana problems you would ever have, which allows you to gem and reforge entirely out of spirit and into mastery/crit
So i will give few things i learned while palying resto shaman over last 7 years ? - Haste is your number 1 priority stat. If you want to be reacting you need to have this Chain Heal on 1.6-1.7 sec cast not 2.5. Spirit is next. Yes spirit is next. - You will always want to take conductivity as this enables you to place healing Rain and extend its duration to about 50 sec giving you more than 100% uptime and MANA SAVING. - Yes you have rotation, as basic things are keep ES on current tank (Tier 16 4 set bonus procs Absorbs so you will get synergy with Disc Priests and Resto Druids. Yes hots + absorbs works amazing.) but most IMPORTANT thing is to use riptide followed by 2 x healing wave. If you don't have anything big to heal use this rotation. Yes its a rotation. Also more haste you have more you switch to keep spamming Healing Wave (you can say well well well its a cheap shit spell) well if its on ~1.5 cast time with GCD being close to it, and heals for 75% of Healing Surge while being 45% of cost... no cracks can be given. - So your best spells are actually healing wave, riptide, chain heal and healing rain. Most of the time you will never use other stuff other than earth shield and cool downs. - You give wide raid buff for master but shaman mastery is actually very very shit. You will never wants to go for it as even on most intense fights its a trade of. I can have 10% of mastery and 40% of haste vs 40% mastery and 10% haste, if everyone is at low health you need to cast heals fast. You need more ticks of riptide you need more chances for eathliving procs. And you will never have points to cap haste, mastery and crit. - Crit is shit, on resto shaman and resto druid crit is shit, why ? becasue we are not holy priest and shit means not "lowering hps" but being unpredictable. And for healer not knowing how much you will heal is plain bad. So you easy, I say easy can assume all of the healing will from crit procs will go into overhealing. Overhealing is not super useful. Again you are trying to down boss not cap overhealing stats. - Shaman is kinda master of smart heals, but you forgot to mention Tier 16 (this is 5.4 video yes :D ?) set bonuses and Tier 16 2 set bonus for resto is just crazy. You gain ABSORB from ES proc so: a) you heal guy and he gets a shield b) you double the ES effect This ain't bad... its amazing! - You forgot to talk about Healing Wave glyph... but you were talking about Binding heal like crazy in priest video. This glyph gives you same stuff, portion of healing from Healing wave goes to You. Another thing to keep in mind. - Do we have time to DPS ? No, its not disc priest. Its better prepare, use cd's etc in "easy times" rather than dps as we will do almost 0 dps. Its not Disc priest 80-100k dps -> 0.9* that is not smart HPS with 100 yrd range. - Cooldowns: Most of cooldowns are "not for you" to use. I mean good cooldowns. And thats sad, Bloodlust, Spirit link totem, healing wave totem, this is a raid cooldowns and requires smart use for encounters to benefit max. Just poping them on CD will not benefit you. - Combos: Resto shaman works great with resto druid in combo and with disco priest. If you can choose get one of them. More hots and more Absorbs will always benefits you. Resto shaman is a child of a love of resto druid and holy paladin. :D You can be on tanks! Yes you can be on tanks and on raid, on everything. But its best to have help of 2 healer either procing hots or absorbs. Disco priest is actually healer that complements best any other none disco priest healers :) MoP healing is just like end of Wotlk healing was, "just spam", you can say its not but its is super spam. Shaman after buffing of Chain Heal can output best Raid Healing in my humble opinion (i know about holy priest solo healing garosh etc... but priest gets close to none bonus from haste and crit so they stack spirit nad a bit of mastery) Shaman is also easy to plan and fun! shaman is FUN! ps. Stack haste and learn that healing is more like playing chess or warcraft 3 / sc. Strategy. Cheers
I've been playing Resto back and forth since TBC, however, this is the first time I feel there's some actual choice regarding reforging, gearing, well, stats overall. Running a crit/spirit build due to my mana reg and it's working out great. Tbh, I feel that Resto Shamans might be a bit too powerful at the moment. Healing Stream does about 25% of my healing. Haven't had any issues with casting speed, at the moment I'm staying at the first soft cap at 12.5%. You simply have to think ahead. c: Just a second opinion.
With your healing legendary meta gem and glyph of recall you can wait for your meta gem to proc and while you have free spells you can cast your most expensive no cooldown totem and recall it over and over again (you can do it 2-3 times per proc) for insane regen.
Great guide Preach. Just a quick tidbit though, I often find Conductivity to vastly effective in many fights. HOWEVER, Rushing streams is better for high mobility fights. Pro-tip for any of you who are new to Rest Shammies: Take A LOT of Tomes with you, you're gonna be switching talents quite often based on the encounter. Cheers *brofists*
Also haste is the way to go and before hc gear you will not want to stack anything else so +5% haste is a massive win before you get around 31%. Much better than 20% haste for few sec as you can get similar effect from other cooldowns.
what are you using for the spell timers? Also what addon are you using for your and the enemies health bar? Im still stuck with the original healthbar at the top left hand corener of the screen
could you link the game play vids you do on the guide videos, so we don't have to go searching around for the second part of the video, would make it a lot smoother.
Hey Preach, watched every single video that I could find of yours and love all of em. Huge fan, keep it up. One critique that I would like to address is that I find it very distracting when u are playing music in the background and you have WoW music turned on. I know how small of a thing this is but it's just one of those things that will make your content so much better! Much love! Jerseything
You and many, many others are saying the same thing. He doesn't even respond. I tried watching and I just gave up. I'd love if he would come and say he's going to try it again this time without silly music.
Thanks for the guide as always preach, was a little hard to understand you because you had music and game sounds on at the same time. Especially when you where explaining how to use the abilities and cooldowns.
I'd say it's down to individual preference, I find ancestral guidance to be the most useful in lfr (because people are stupid and it's really handy to be able to heal everyone for shitloads all at once), but in guild raids I use either rushing streams or conductivity depending on the specific raid and what is more useful to me
Such a hasty answer i know but as he said you need to take a bunch of tomes with you every time because it all depends on the fights . For example Conductivity for Protectors,Norushen,Sha,Galakras,Thok,Garrosh its good but for the rest of the fights where you are mainly spread you need rushing streams .
Hey preach, first of all thanks for the info you provide, you have saved my toons from being deleted but anyways I hope you answer this question, do I need a hit cap as resto shaman or can I reforge that away, thanks again,
To use multiple totems at once is impossible, there is a minor glyph though, that places 3 useless totems with no benefits on the ground when you place a totem.
Between patches 3.2 and 5.0.4 (I believe), Shamans were able to drop 1 totem from each school simultaneously using the totem bar. After patch 5.0.4 however, the mechanic was changed so that totems worked more like cool downs, only dropping the one totem as the situation needs.
I must say the talent conductivity is way better then healing steam talent and empower elements is the way to go empower your healing rain then spam chain heal and your healing rain stays out to 40 sec and pumps wayyyyyy more healing then healing tide and by the time: your healing rain is over it is back of cool down
conductivity is pretty bad actualy...got a 558 shaman my self doing normal just started hc,the only boss i found it useful for was thok....healing stream however is an insane cd with that talent, specialy when you reach some sick haste caps and crit chance, you see it tick fast and tick hard, conductivity demands you stack for long periods of time, witch you almost never do,stream has a great range
They have changed expertise for ALL casters so that expertise = spell hit. It gives casters more options to gem and enchant with. The same options that melee dps/hunters have.
Good video as usual Preach, a little confusing as you tend to speak a little quick at times and your UI is so stripped down, I have to watch a few times just to tell what you're talking about, lol. Over all, good video though, keep up the good videos
i love your guides preach but somthings i don't like such as not really going into detail or speaking about other talents.. such as xuen being one of the best raid as a whole cd for mistweaver for raids in 10m and sometimes 25m. i perosnally hate chi torp
As Preach has mentioned on multiple ocasions, it is not set in stone which talents are better. First example that comes to my mind are the amount of DK's who swear by Plague Leech. In my experience playing Unholy, even though the numbers say it's better it is quite simply too much of a hastle. Chi Torpedo is free and as a Monk i'm rolling around anyway, it just makes sense to me. Xuen is just another ability I need to use and Monk's have enough abilties as it is. I'm not saying it's bad by any means, similar to how i'd use Healing Tide Totem; 3 min cooldown and does a shit-tonne of healing, job done really but I try to avoid adding too many abilities. I'm more for talents which increase the effectiveness of spells I use anyway, like Unleashed Fury and Healing Streams on my Shaman. For me, too many buttons completely annihilates the element of fun.
The point now is to switch based on the fight, even in 10 man there are a lot of situations, especially in SoO where people are stacked up. This makes AoE heals such as Chi Torpedo potentially very effective but in a fight like Imerseus for example is completely pointless. I know your reason for using Xuen, it does the job and it also looks really fucking cool. There is an arguement to be made for every talent depending on situation.

What shaman have you been playin? Haste is the worst stat cuz you get cd reduce with riptide and chain heal cast for 2 next splles,it can be good forsome brake points (riptide has a lot of them) but only if used whit riptide glyph, which is only good on thok if you ask me,for the other stats / Proggres-mastery, later-crit

Damn, I love personal preference.
Douglas Bergentz Yes! but sadly resto shaman doesn't have that many choices.

I love Totemic Projection for Spirit Link Totem, can drop it from range and move it onto the tanks without having to run anywhere
Hey Preach, great guides. Just genna point out that it's a bit annoying to have the in-game music and your own music going at the same time. Thanks :)

Thank you for this video I just turned my shaman into a healer leveling up through dungeons with it I really like it
echo of the ellements, conductivity... awesome too
Also haste is the way to go and before hc gear you will not want to stack anything else so +5% haste is a massive win before you get around 31%. Much better than 20% haste for few sec as you can get similar effect from other cooldowns.
I am a huge fan of your videos. What are your UI addons, because your UI is very clean and I like it.
Mind sharing your healing macros?
Overhealing on a resto shaman is called drowning /sage nod
what are you using for the spell timers? Also what addon are you using for your and the enemies health bar? Im still stuck with the original healthbar at the top left hand corener of the screen
LOVE IT!! THANKS MAN!!!
As much as I love my shaman I haven't done a proper rebuild on her since Cata, It is now time =D
could you link the game play vids you do on the guide videos, so we don't have to go searching around for the second part of the video, would make it a lot smoother.

good work. is not clear for me the add ons bars that u use here
Thanks for the guide as always preach, was a little hard to understand you because you had music and game sounds on at the same time. Especially when you where explaining how to use the abilities and cooldowns.
Preach why not condictivity? on most of fights you can have easy 100% healing rain uptime which wins fights and saves 100-120k mana.
I'd say it's down to individual preference, I find ancestral guidance to be the most useful in lfr (because people are stupid and it's really handy to be able to heal everyone for shitloads all at once), but in guild raids I use either rushing streams or conductivity depending on the specific raid and what is more useful to me

I find crit to be even more important than spirit due to resurgence.
What Macros do you use? I would be truly grateful for them lol I need as much help as I can get.. >.
He has a video on his channel about that.
what is this ad don called
What addon do you use to track the buffs on yourself?
If you havn't please do a Enhancement guide :D
Preachy I miss the only daily that matters
Nice video as usual Preach. But yeah, ingame music + your own music is a bit distracting. Poly-tonality ftl lol.
Hey preach, first of all thanks for the info you provide, you have saved my toons from being deleted but anyways I hope you answer this question, do I need a hit cap as resto shaman or can I reforge that away, thanks again,
You don't need hit for a healer, hits just for damaging spells.
hi. nice guide :) where can i get that totem macro or addon? im trying to use 4 totems with one click but have a problem with gcd
What Addons do you use
how do I get my chatbox look like this?
wheres the link to the resto gameplay?
Have you made WoD guide yet?
What's the name of your helmet?!?!?!
what addons do you use for that interface???
that would help for my shaman soooo much XD
It's preach ui. Can be found on his website
cool, thanks
de the legacy of the shaman ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I must say the talent conductivity is way better then healing steam talent and empower elements is the way to go empower your healing rain then spam chain heal and your healing rain stays out to 40 sec and pumps wayyyyyy more healing then healing tide and by the time: your healing rain is over it is back of cool down

Its not hard to move healing rain...
WTB holy priest vids!!
Can you please post the macro?
hey .. can you tell me the addons ?
still wanna know why Expertiese as ele
it equals hit rating
Duriel181 it doesn't,, how does it make sense to gem hit over int when most can't get rid of enough of it
LFGallagher97 he mentions in the ele video that he is doing the exp/mastery gems to meet a good set bonus and get as much mastery as possible.
They have changed expertise for ALL casters so that expertise = spell hit. It gives casters more options to gem and enchant with. The same options that melee dps/hunters have.
wow, ok, thanks :) totaly missed that memmo :P
that gameplay though
call iof the elements skill doesnt reset any of my totems that have a 3 minute cooldown... anyone else?
yea it doesnt reset them...the tooltip is somewhat missleading,it doesnt say INCLUDING the one that have 3 min,it resets cds of under 3 min only
Does no one play WoW with music in the background regularly? How is this distracting?
the macro doesnt work for me :S
nice vid
Great video :) you say shaman funny lol
MORE TOP 5s PLS
Good video as usual Preach, a little confusing as you tend to speak a little quick at times and your UI is so stripped down, I have to watch a few times just to tell what you're talking about, lol. Over all, good video though, keep up the good videos

? 16 min vid? press healing rain, hit chain heal a few, then totem. That's it
I had horrible time listening to game music and edited music at the same time :/
have you recovered yet you poor thing?
@@doctormarazanvose4373 I have. After years of therapy!
eyo :D
HollllAAAAAAAAAAAa
Lol gross, stacking spirit is so last tier. It's all about crit and more crit after you hit your haste breakpoint. You should be reforging out of spirit for crit/haste.
He was geared for elemental.
not at 480 ilvl LOL,unless you can reach like 40% crit, its not worth it over spirit
You gain ABSORB from ES proc so:
a) you heal guy and he gets a shield
b) you double the ES effect
This ain't bad... its amazing!
- Combos:
Resto shaman works great with resto druid in combo and with disco priest. Disco priest is actually healer that complements best any other none disco priest healers :)
MoP healing is just like end of Wotlk healing was, "just spam", you can say its not but its is super spam. Shaman after buffing of Chain Heal can output best Raid Healing in my humble opinion (i know about holy priest solo healing garosh etc... but priest gets close to none bonus from haste and crit so they stack spirit nad a bit of mastery)
Shaman is also easy to plan and fun! shaman is FUN!
ps. Stack haste and learn that healing is more like playing chess or warcraft 3 / sc. Strategy.
Cheers
What shaman have you been playin?
Haste is the worst stat cuz you get cd reduce with riptide and chain heal cast for 2 next splles,it can be good forsome brake points (riptide has a lot of them) but only if used whit riptide glyph, which is only good on thok if you ask me,for the other stats / Proggres-mastery, later-crit
