Install WeakAuras2, open it, press Import, and copy the long Pastebin strings. Then you should have the same setup as in the video. Also, uh, this is from MoP in 2014? Are you sure you're in the right place? lol
Heya, good guide! Im on an mop server playing prot pally, its fresh so mogushan vaults just released. Really early game so far. My question is, even early game is haste still the desired stat here? Im finding way more gear that has mastery. Is it better to stack only haste for this patch, or only mastery? What do you think, thanks! Hi there, I'm thinking about playing a little bit of prot on my holydin. I have a question about gearing in Flex and LFR: Other than Weapons and Trinkets, is it better to roll on Protection-Gear or Retribution-Gear?
Sorry for the late response. Prot Pally gearing right now is as follows: Get your T16 4-piece ABOVE ALL ELSE (I can't overstate how important this is), get your Hit/Exp cap, then stack Haste and Mastery. In general, the Prot loot table will be better, as Crit is a garbage stat for us, but you should check on a boss-by-boss basis. One last point: Thok's Tail Tip is one of our best Trinkets (amplifies our Haste and Mastery), so I always roll Ret on Thok.
What exactly are u using that allows u to use ur skills in priority? Is it a macro? U seem to be able to hit all ur priority skills in sequence WITHOUT FAIL...
Thanks for the great guide. Very informative. However, I think it's a sad day in tanking when prot pallys are stacking ret gear to become a viable tank. I made the mistake of gearing like a you would a normal tank (dodge, parry gear) and now I'm screwed because I have no luck getting ret gear.
Any Haste or Mastery gear is still on the Prot loot table... The only thing you need to roll Ret for is gear that has Crit, which is irrelevant anyway until you're like 580 item level.
If grand crusader procs then why is it a filler spell, shouldn't it go to top priority? More aggro, more damage, free avenger's shield, etc. Why are judgement/crusader strike above it in priority if the goal with prot pallies is to get 3 holy power to use that ability in the first place?
First, you're confusing Avenger's Shield (filler spell that throws a shield at the target and bounces to 2 others, sometimes has its CD reset by Grand Crusader) and Shield of the Righteous (costs 3 HP, reduces physical damage taken for 3 seconds). Second, it's been shown that Grand Crusader procs are still below in priority to CS and J for single-target tanking. Basically, it's because your #1 goal is to generate as much HP as possible and delaying your CS and J will slow that down. Delaying a GC proc up to 2 GCDs risks you losing it if GC procs again, but this is mathematically unlikely to happen in the 3-4.5s you delay it, IF you're only getting hit by one target. tl;dr - Trust me. All the theorycrafting says it's better overall to still use GC procs after CS and J. It's a small DPS loss but a survivability gain.

What I do is I use holy wrath for an emergancy agro puller or right after I bubble to get mobs back on me

are you using bartender? I was just wondering how you got your abilities to only show near your character only when you are doing an attack ?

Check my pastebin account for my most recent auras, but no guarantees. Quit early in ShL and don't remember whether I updated them.
