Sir how candidates doing foreign postdoc apply for faculty position India? Do they have to come to India for the Interview or they give online interviews? My question is for IITs and Nits in general as I have heard some nits take written test for faculty position.
1. It totally depends on the institution. There is no fix rule. Some institutions take initial rounds of interviews online and if selected for further rounds may be called in person. Mostly you have to appear physically at some stage. 2. Yes, Many NITs take written examination as a first stage of recruitment and for that candidates need to be present physically. Overall for any such recruitment , at some point of time you will be asked to be present in person.

There are industries that requires the expertise of PhDs from Math and Physics. However, opportunities in math are more in comparison to Physics. After gaining experiences from the industries, we can make ourselves understand what type of product we can start with.
Hello, Sorry for late reply. Actually, it depends upon the Institute. Also, sometimes when too many applications are there this is the easiest possible way. There is no any such rule in writing.

Maximum age for becoming Asst. Prof is 35. Everything you have to complete is before 33 so that you have a 2 year window to get a government job.

Yes, mathematics professors do have a lot of funded projects from industries and Government agencies. Answer to you second question is already given.
