Academic jobs in higher institutions in India, particularly at IITs and other premier research institutes, often come through "lobbying." All the motivational speeches are essentially a facade to deceive applicants. There are no specific criteria for shortlisting; it's all about connections and lobbying. Academic merit, publications, and research proposals do not carry much weight in most cases, especially when there are several hundred vacancies for a single position, particularly in the field of science.
What a shame for the part of the institute to host such a discussion.. I mean see the faculty around the department, their subject knowledge(sigh), well deserved candidates never get job(s) at the right institute.
Thanks for sharing such insightful talk!

That's quite evident by his CV. Your CV will directly go to the trash bin if you apply with ONE single Q1 paper and less than one year postdoc 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Amazing insights
Nice initiative..
Senior professor is very rude , never expected such kind of behavior from professor of top most institution. Very egoistic and disrespectful 😒
It's very common in those high class institutions.
