I've just bought some little things from Rogue - band pegs, everything belt, chip plates. All arrived in good condition/packaging, but I'd expect that from lighter products.
100 percent a comparison video would be awesome. Also if you have it, showing more of how the different attachments from each company would fit on the rack. Also a video of how the different barbells would fit inside of each rack. Thanks for the review.
I enjoy my monster rack from rogue after upgrading from a titan t3. I completely agree with how the hardware for the rack is shipped. Mine arrived in a mangled cardboard box and I was luckily only missing one lock washer. It needs to be shipped in a wooden crate or something. Overall great rack and hopefully will last a life time.
Great honest review. Seems like most channels just praise rogue and make it seem they never do wrong. It is a awesome rack, but for as much as you spend you should not have had all those small problems.
@@GlucksGym I appreciate the honesty. I do like my rogue products but nothing is perfect. The biggest surprise was that f**ked box of hardware. That is unacceptable. Especially because you had to pay extra.
I was told by Rogue it's suppoed to look distressed 😂 I'm sure that's a cool line but doesn't really make sense as there's no other elements like that on the rack.
just received my RM-6, and unfortunately many of your points were realized in my order too. It's November 2023 and I just thought they would have improved, but I had multiple numbers that were not completely punched through, several spots where the paint simply didn't exist, and even a mismatched color crossmember. Customer service told me that the black cross member is "standard" (I ordered a white rack, so why not match it to the rest of my order as "standard") and for the paint and numbers issues they offered a $100 credit. Thanks but I just spent multiple thousands of dollars; and $100, while not nothing, is hardly "making it right". It's sad that even a year after your review, Rogue continues to still exhibit the signs of "slipping"
Best comment: It was light when I started filming, it is dark now. Not many people appreciate how much effort goes into making these videos. Keep up with the great content.
I would go with rogue again. 100%. UPS sucks and dinged up the rack a bit and scuffed the poly plates. Given the price you want perfection - but let's be honest, it is a weight rack. Rogue took care of me. Stating that they treat their customers the way they would want to be treated. Exceptional customer service.
Just a heads up (if you didn't already know)...the "fold down" type attachments WILL cut little lines into the finish of the uprights if you don't use the pins with them! You can add UHMW tape to the tabs on them, but, IF YOU CARE about the finish, make sure you take care of that. I have 24" spotter arms and failed to use the pins with them. Now my rack has little lines at every set up point. I'm not really worried about it, but some folks might be.
keep up the great work . great video . You being so critically honest is what really separates this channel. Great working on your review . cant wait for more videos and cant wait for another bench giveaway :D
Great review and I 100% get where you are coming from. I love Rogue equipment and they've always been super responsive. To me it is all about value and when you are charging top of market prices the value means everything has to be perfect so I think it's fair to hold them to that standard bc that's where they have put themselves.
Had the same problem with the bolt packaging on my RM6. Box was damaged and half of them were missing but they eventually sent me spares. Make sure you take a picture of the damaged box before you open it
I had an experience, where none of the bolt came and a bunch of additional parts missing. With the upright starched up. Rogue made it right, but it was annoying. I do love the rack after month of use. Definitely get the monster over the monster lite.
Great review and I can totally resonate with your feelings! One thing to add about Monster Lite is Rogue skimps on UHMW for the inside portions of the RML attachments. Not the end of the world, but I don’t think it would hurt Rogue’s wallet to add some with their attachments moving forward.
Yes they do. Technically on the Monster they cut some corners too. UHMW tape on one interior side of the sandwich cups, some kind of felt like tape on the inside of the gunrack, etc
When I bought my monster lite they sent each upright, crossmember, name plate, etc separate. I essentially had packages over a two week span from rogue. When I opened it all up my uprights we're suppose to be unnumbered but I received one that was numbered. All parts came banged up and my nameplate came bent pretty bad as well. After going back and forth with them for two weeks about what had happened they ended up giving me a credit and two uprights (super unexpected). Just recently bought crossmembers from rep and It's now a six post and just at 1500 dollars for a six post I don't regret it. At the end of the day the few mistakes they make they over fix the problem.
Sorinex does the same with their bolts but only bright zinc which don’t show wear as much. Just wait till the black zinc turns green 😝. On a side note I didn’t like all the individual packages of hardware that REP does either.
I had the same problem with the satin clear. I had my heart on the 100” rm-6, and waited about 6 months for it to come back in stock. After much debate and tired of waiting, I ended up getting a Froning rml-4100c instead, along with the rml comp bench, spotter arms, and the plate storage tree. They shipped me a set of 108” rm posts in satin clear on accident instead the rml post. Funny, since they were out of stock. I contacted support and they made everything right and were great to work with. Packaging was good, at least my hardware was in a heavy duty ziplock bag. I must say that the satin clear looks amazing, but I am satisfied with the matte black.
Glad it worked out for you but in any other circumstance that would've been an issue 😂 hell of a story though and happy to see it ended with you happy.
From my experience buying Rogue Monster Lite attachments for my REP PR4000, the packaging is night and day different. REP packs every bolt and washer and all of Rogue's equipment we're just thrown in a box by itself. Does this now mean you have his and hers racks? No longer needing to adjust safeties and J cups and can bounce between racks as you train together?
I do think Rep goes a bit overboard with the hardware packaging and wish it created less waste but they're definitely night and day. We may do that some to speed things up since a few others workout with us but who's rack is whose ...😂
Another solution to the straps being to tight…go to a local freight supplier. I was able to get custom straps made for $20 or so. I was able to customize the style of loop, add a layer of protection for where bar would hit it, etc. this was back when Titan had strap issues, so it was necessary
Struggling to decide if I want the true RM-6 or a the shorter RM-5 like you have. Would make my decision easier if there was actually a price difference. How did you choose the 30” depth and do ever regret not getting the 43”? Thank you for all of your time in your reviews.
I don't really have issues with the size difference but some of my friends back into it some on squats. It's a little tighter but if you didn't better you might never notice. I went with the 5 because it allows me to still park my car on that side. Which I've done once since I got the Rogue rack 😂 One last note, some items like Rogue's drop in safeties don't exist for the shorter length. I solved that by getting some from Surplus Strength.
Had a few frustrating moments with all Rogue orders but they made everything right and then some. My hardware looked like a 3rd grader threw them all in a box at random and I had to go to the store. Shipping damage on rack and plates. Monster Lite is enough for 90% of people. “Must Haves” for ML are Sandwich J cups and safety straps. Monolifts are great for bench. Rogue Black Ops 2.0 shorts are sweeet!
Great review and the rack looks stunning. One thing that doesn't get enough airtime is the comparison between 5/8" and 1" hardware (although you do a decent job here). It's just not clear if 1" is the gold standard, or if it's overkill. You said you liked westside spacing, so what made you go for the Monster version over the Monster Lite series? Is the quality of the Monster line better? Or is it that it just has a bigger selection of attachments? I presume that as they are both 3x3, there is minimal difference between their respective stability. Love the channel
I went with 1" for a few reasons. 1) we had already reviewed a PR 4000 and needed some 1" videos, 2) the quality and larger selection of attachments, 3) the 4 way, equal hole spacing allows you to build off/attach in any spot in any direction. That last point is a little less valid now that the PR 4000 recently switched to 4 way hole spacing. I probably touch on this a bit more on our video that's 2 weeks out (PR 5000 vs Rogue Monster)
I have bought a couple bars from Rogue in the past year. The curl bar had issues with the knurling not being even, minor but still a noticeable flaw, the stainless OPB had a fairly large mark/blemish from the machining. Both should have been sold as boneyards. I also bought the AB-3 bench and it is freaking awesome, packaging was great, no flaws. They are probably cutting corners as they ramp up production.
@@GlucksGym I have the Incline/decline bench, it’s an older design, heavy and expensive, but worth it if you do decline work and want something super stable.
They basically ship everything like the bolts (a basic cardboard box with no packaging) except for the monster uprights/beams. If they do use any “packaging” it’s just some scraps of paper. My monster lite rack came dinged up and marred from shipping. At this point Rogue could care less what customers have to say about shipping issues.
When I ordered my monster rack from Rogue, my bolt box split open in shipping and UPS taped it back together. Unfortunately when I went to put together my rack, 3 bolts were missing. I contacted Rogue, and to their credit they expressed shipped me out a 5pack of bolts. However, after spending as much as I did, it sucks to have an incomplete product shipped to you.
Thanks for the great content! So i was all in on Rogue for a while but as someone who has only 240 sqft in my basement gym Rep's new ARES has won me over (yes insane overkill for this 60 y/o lifter but I wouldn't want to burden my kids by leaving too much cash). I'm very interested to hear how your rogue accessories fit on the Rep PR 5000. Thanks in advance.
Regarding color, I saw posts on Reddit showing gunmetal was coming in closer to “Light Grey” from the website, but I took a chance when I ordered my gunmetal RML-390FULLW and thankfully it looks as dark as I had expected. In the video when you’re sitting in front of it, it looks pretty dark, but the image you compared to the listing makes it look much lighter - strange. One upright packaging came in slightly damaged with some blemishes to the finish, rogue offered to replace or give me a credit which I thought was quite fair. Ps I used the affiliate link from your website when I ordered, but to be honest it’s not obvious if “took” or not since all URLs after clicking through just look like regular rogue links. Anyways hope it did, love the channel!
Agree that the colors should be actual photos, not the rendering nonsense. I'm probably going to visit the showroom in Columbus before I make a major purchase from them.
I wanted the monster, but the freestanding/flat foot version was inexplicably narrower than the monster lite, so I went with the monster lite because it had more room between the front and back uprights. The 5/8 hardware is massive. I can’t imagine wanting let alone needing 1” hardware. One of my uprights was damaged and had to be replaced. I’m not super impressed with the powder coat. My old body solid rack had a smooth coating that was as good as the monster line. Body solid also finished the inside of their uprights.
Just put together the same rack and had two issues. The rope attachment came with silver colored hardware instead of the black that was ordered. Ordered the strap safeties and one is slightly shorter than the other so now one side is slightly higher causing an issue when benching because the bar hits the strap on one side and not the other
I've always had good luck with their customer service though some of their claimed quality levels have been questionable. Hopefully they make it right for you!
One of my Monster Lite blue columns was missing the laser cut numbering. Rogue sent me two new columns and keep the original one as well as the extra new one since I only needed one. They only ship them as pairs. I do wish I paid a little more for the Monster rack, but the RML is really all I ever need.
@@GlucksGym I sold the Monster Lite rack on Saturday. Moved up to a PR 5000 with Ares. Just waiting delivery as that end of the gym looks empty now. Ordered a couple of Rogue attachments, because they are better than the Rep equivalent and they are verified to work with the Rep Fitness rack perfectly. I hated the black zinc hardware. Never again.
93" on the Rep rack, 90" on Rogue's. Essentially just make sure you have enough space for the rack and from it's up to you. I'd plan for pull up height though technically depending on the rack you can place the pull up bar lower and if you want to overhead press inside the rack that may be a factor but I always do it outside. There's other small things but that's the general idea.
So, my recent rogue experience: cb-4 barbell. Or anything with the "proprietary matte black" sleeves. Any barbell sold with this sleeve has a note on the page about the sleeve creating "more friction". What it doesn't tell you is that some standard weight plates get stuck. I have had a 45 lb get stuck to the point that I have to put more weight on the opposite side to pull it off without pulling it out of the j-cups. For the record, my plates are vulcan alphas. Also, the package arrived damaged. Rogue is standing by the "this is normal" line and refuse to take the bar back at their cost. I have sent them videos, etc. What I really want is a version of this bar that works. Since the package was damaged, UPS will take it back for free. However, this is my first interaction with rogue support, and they honestly feel like the skeezy companies that never actually give you a refund. Hopefully I am wrong on that. I think you have an mg-4cn with the same sleeves. Have you been able to try various plates on it? If you find any that do/don't work, would you be willing to share that on your channel? I just want to prevent people from being caught in the same situation. I love the bar, and if my plates worked on it, it would be the best piece of strength equipment I own. (Unlike you, I love squatting. Even more so now that my shoulders aren't stressed! you know, when I can get enough plates on the bar to actually squat). Great channel. Thanks for everything you do! Your camber swiss bar comparison in particular really helped me out.
I'm actually doing and Ohio power bar in 2 weeks or so. We have one lf those with the matte black. I haven't had issues with plates getting stuck but I've heard the cb4 has had a lot of issues like that. I also have the MG4 and haven't had issues there either. Definitely more friction though. I'm still testing and taking measurements but it's something I'll address in the bar vid.
@@GlucksGym What plates are you using? I don't mind more friction. When I am *very careful* I can slide a plate on very slowly. It was simply a bit shocking compared to my ohio stainless bar or chan bar with chrome sleeves. I can load/unload plates blindfolded with one 25 lb in each hand. It makes plate changes easy/fast. I will be looking forward to that video. I have like 5 bars with this sleeve on my want list right now.
One thing to note, someone from the Reddit home gym page recently showed the drop in rhino works perfectly in the RML 690 without an extra holes, etc. for some reason rogue doesn’t advertise it but you mentioned it not being available to the monster lite line so thought it was worth noting Edit: and i experienced the same frustration with the clear satin. Was going to get the RM4 clear satin and went out of stock for three weeks. Asked rogue and couldn’t tell me anything. Decided to wait for the clear satin to come back in stock and by the time it did the price on other things such as the scout reverse hyper went up in price. Still think your gun metal gray looks good though.
Good to know, I missed that post. Thanks. It's growing on me but definitely isn't like what it looks on the site. I even matched up the color samples and the site darker for sure.
@@GlucksGym your story with the color frustration is almost identical to mine (I was going to get gun metal gray or clear satin and couldn’t get good pictures of either). My rack came in around the same time as yours so sounds like we were both waiting on the same restock to happen. Probably doesn’t matter now but if you’re still wanting pictures of clear satin I posted my gym 2.0 just a couple days ago of my clear satin RM4 on the home gym Reddit. Love the channel, I recently discovered yours and have enjoyed binging your older videos too.
tried a Rogue belt squat and it had issues in the gym I work out at. Would not buy. Power racks are ok but not on same quality as Hammer Strength and Legend Fitness.
very interested on compatibility of attachments, like buying a rep and adding some attachment from rogue and maybe a solution for the difference in holes. honestly its an easy topic but less addressed
Probably because of the cost and it's easier for people to just repleat the same generic advice. I tried at least to show a taste of it here but it seems like that video is something people want to see.
I understand there really are bigger problems out there and people are having a hard time right now but, It is really is annoying when you get excited for something you just spent a lot of money on and its not exactly right when you first get it. Its a beautify rack though!
Excellent Review! When you compare the RM43-3 and RM-3, except for the expensive price point of the RM43, would you think RM43 is more sturdy than the RM? Or similar? What I mean is if you shake the RM on purpose or during workout, would the rack wobble a bit or stay stable and sturdy?
The RM43 is not made for home gyms. If 3x3 racks are excessive (they are) the 43 is ludicrously over the top and there's no real reason outside of being a professional high end facility to even think about it. The Monster is more than enough for any home gym.
I have bought a monster squat stand and monster half rack from rogue in the last year. I had the same issues with the bolts but I knew that was going to be the case when I bought it. The main issues with me is the paint job on these racks. I have had to have multiple replacements because my brand new uprights would arrive covered in scratches and scrapes and places where it looks like the paint was applied or dries incorrectly which caused some blemishes. I saw the same types of spots on your rack just watching this video, I guess thats normal for them. For they money they charge, I don't think that's fair. I'm not expecting perfection even though it would be reasonable to given price.
Thorough, honest review man. Rogue monster racks are nice but I have had such a solid experience from order through to now using the PR5000 that I could not in good faith recommend the monster over it price considered.
I got my rack almost 2 years ago this one but In red I was pissed about the box of bolts too had to get extras shipped because the box fell apart and was missing stuff
I see you have 3 top beams where as the std RM6 comes with 2. Do you think adding that 3rd is necessity or maybe just a nice to have. Ordering today and not sure whether to throw in another gusset top beam or not.
It's nice to have. Makes it a little more stable but not necessary. If you're getting a shipping deal (they should still be running that) I'd probably throw it in, this thing is rock solid with it.
Iam debating between the rm3 30" or the rm4 to drop in my standalone Rhino to save a little bit of space in my garage gym. Is the rm4 41 or 49" depth?? Also is there any advantage of dropping in rhino inside a rack besides saving some space?? I don't need a lat pull down, I already own a selectorized lat pull down machine and a selectorized functional trainer too to do cable exercises. Anyways anily advice would help. Thank u😊
How u doing bro. Hey do u know if the titan attachments 5/8 will fit rogue RML-3 rack, i think they do but but 100% sure. Iam thinkimg about buying a RML-3 rack to drop in my standalone rhino. I already have lots of titan x3, 5/8" attachments.
The mirror I picked up used off Facebook Marketplace. All my other mirrors are fromHome Depot made by Glaical Bay. Every mirror in my gym is just mounted using your basic mirror mounts you'd find at Walmart and other places.
@@HughLeFitness she's all for it but I'm more scared the income isn't consistent enough and just not enough in general. This is just a step in that direction but I'm not sure if/when I'll take the leap.
I had issues with my rogue rack as well. Was my first purchase from them and I actually have a video and everything on my channel about how bad the experience was. Was my first and last rogue purchase. I’ll never purchase anything from them again after the issues I ran into. Seems like nothing has changed years after my issues.
After this (and watching another guy have a lot of issues with theirs) I doubt it but you never know! If I can justify it and that's what people want to see a review of I'll always consider it.
@@GlucksGym that’s about the only reason I’d pick a Rogue rack over Rep. Hopefully Rep plans on upgrading or re doing their belt squat attachment. Never actually used it but see nothing but bad reviews. I am looking forward to Elite FTS rack attachable reverse hyper. They’ve already come out and said it’ll fit most racks now just to see the price
@@Nick-1828 I have the rep belt squat attachment. I really like it. The only issue is starting at the bottom. Rep did point out that they sell a chain with a hook so you don’t have to do that. They should include it with the attachment though.
@@jeremiahlighthouse if you don’t mind me asking a few questions.. how tall are you? What type of belt do you use? And you haven’t had any problems hitting depth? You’re one of the first I hear give it a good praise! I’d love to give it a shot just don’t want it to be a wasted purchase even though it isn’t the most expensive attachment
@@Nick-1828 I am about 5’6”. The belt that I am currently using is the spud inc dip belt. I need to get an actual belt squat belt though. The large rings on the belt can dig into you. I don’t have issues with depth. One of they key to setting it up the first time is to loosen the bottom bolts on the rack. Put it in place than tighten the bolts. I also use it for split squats.
Ok so I have a titan x3 rack witch is basically a monster light here is where I’m confused why is it so much more expensive for larger holes why would we not just drill out the holes to 1 inch is it a lower gage steel or is it just a cash grab ?
Same gauge steel but 3x3 with 1" is more expensive because there's more holes drilled (same amount on the front as the side of the post) and the larger hardware those holes require is also often accompanied by better quality. Essentially everything gets beefed up. There's probably is a little more of a markup since it's also the top of the line stuff that companies offer.
I love my monster hardware, but had only an okay shipping experience. Bought over Black Friday (waited two months, but no deals! :’( ), took four weeks to arrive. Boxes were beat up with the steel uprights sticking out, but only tiny scratches. However only half my order showed up! Took them two weeks to find my second pallet. It did arrive eventually, and all the pieces were there, so it all ended well. For those looking to buy a rack, don’t get black. You can’t really read the laser cut numbers. Gluck, I did use your affiliate link for Rogue. I smirked at your bench comparison video thinking I may have covered half of one of them.
Hahaha thanks for the thought! I'm glad it worked out for you and they typically get it figured out it's just a shame that reaching out to them is becoming more common.
Sorry you had all that headache. On the bright side, that rack looks sick! Have you tried moving up both strap safeties as the same time as opposed to one 3-4 at a time?
Being that the state of the world right now is worse that some of the 3rd world public toilets I’ve used …I’m willing to give manufacturers/sellers some latitude. That said, I do think Rogue has slipped a bit. I have a VERY overbuilt RM-6, but if I was starting today I’d bite the bullet and go Sorinex (still waiting for that Apex review BTW 😜). Regarding what they’re doing over the last year, it seems like they don’t really know what their niche is anymore. Recently it’s been the smaller companies that I’ve been most impressed with. Great video ….cheers.
I purchased a rogue rack because it had the customer service, made in America, and renowned attention to detail on welds and such. That being said REP destroys every single company in terms of packaging and value.
Funny you say that because every single thing I’ve bought from Rep had THE worst packaging I’ve ever seen in my life Multiple power bars, benches, plates etc All of it came damaged, scuffed up or even broken To this day I’ve probably made about 25 huge purchases from Rep but it’s always destroyed by the time it gets to me (FL)
@@kozmo7 unfortunately I've had a lot of experiences that haven't gone well with Rogue lately and very good experiences with Rep. Nobody is perfect though but that premium price is underperforming that imported equipment for me lately.
@@GlucksGym Yeah that’s weird. I wonder if it’s based on geography somewhat? I’ve had nothing but the opposite experience and I’ve built out 4 gyms so far. Rep being the biggest pain in my ass 😂
Would love a comparison of the PR5K and the Monster along with exactly how various accessories fit! Rogue for sure has a ton more accessories. I'm hoping Rep will come out with a lot more for the PR5K and or Titan will come up with more for the Titan Series, which should hopefully fit on Rogue/Rep. I still don't know why companies charge so much more for the 1in accessories.. other than just trying to milk as much money as possible since material costs shouldn't be a significantly factor..
I think that's a part of the price. Premium product line = premium prices and people are sometimes willing to spend for the perceived value. I think that video will come and we'll do a more detailed breakdown of the accessories because typically you just hear the same generic it'll fit line but nobody shows it which is probably for good reason, they don't all fit particularly well.
@@GlucksGym Thats great! Yes this is the exact type of video we need with footage of actual fitment across the brands and all the good and bad that comes with it!! That will be super useful!
How long until you talk yourself into a Titan TITAN Series rack? I’d say it’s different enough from both Rogue and Rep to justify for “review” purposes 😬
I have components from all 3 in my pieced together set up and it's really not much different from the Monster line.. They basically ripped it off even down to the key holes. Most of my uprights where Titan series uprights bought before the prices jumped. Definitely do not regret that, saved thousands in comparison to buying today, or buying Rep/Rogue.
They have been slipping for years my bumpers all have a different outer diameter... The fix -/+3mm tolerance on the website... They're within tolerance and the see through lettering isn't so bad... Time to move it outdoors with the SHRED SHED! Beaverfit and Elieko had a baby and it's glorious don't let Winnie see this comment.
Shhhh she likes to read the comments! It's too bad whey profits get in the way of customers but it seems when you make this much money there should be an in between.
Ive seen people squat or bench over 500lbs in a rogue monster lite half rack with no issues. Full power racks are overkill and will always cost a lot more. It isn't ideal for standard 2 car garage because of the room it takes up. I'm able to fit a half rack with functional machine, treadmill and dumbbells racks without sacrificing any car spots. Rogue is pricey but it just depends what you're going for. Rep is cheaper but still expensive imo. Rogue monsterlite half rack is perfect for the avg Joe at a fair price in their garage gym.
You can buy a “adapters” to make all your RML attachments fit the 1” hole. If you buy Rep PR 5K uprights ONLY. You will need Rogue crossmembers to make it Rogue specs. I can tell right now it isn’t your favorite thing you have reviewed. Guess we will see down the road.
Love the video. Thanks. Can I give you some constructive criticism? I think you need a new microphone and add some bass to the audio. The echo in your gym is quite distracting; maybe it is just me 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the info. Nobody has given me that feedback yet. I'll have to look into it. I am recording in a large open space with hard walls and metal equipment. It's probably not the microphone they are really good. I edit with headphones on and then listen to the playback through speakers as well and I don't hear it so it may be your device not having any bass. Either way I appreciate you letting me know. I'm going to have to start doing some research and see what I can do but it is a one-man show so it might take some time. Always trying to improve though so I do appreciate the comment.
Great review, I have a RML-43 and the only thing I’m not a fan of is the accessories aren’t as nice. My hip thruster bench, is heavy, hard to attach to the rack and you can scratch the rack pretty bad due to no UHMW on the bracket. Overall, I’ll never lift to the point where Monster is worth it, but being able to mix and match attachments Would have been nice.
Woah they so exist in the wild! Insane that the accessories aren't another step up as you'd think they'd follow the same pattern. Unfortunately even the Monster attachments have a lot of cut corners.
I shall lower my expectations for when it comes time to buy one of these. Still leaning towards the Monster over a 5000/4000, because I’m gonna spend several thousand dollars, why not add on extra and make sure I am totally future proof attachment wise. Maybe that’s dumb but whatever
@@GlucksGym sucks when it's a big-ass purchase though lol. But as long as they right the wrongs, should be all set. And it seems their service is still better than REPs (maybe you can speak better to that - but they take forever to reply to me)
I've heard from a a decent amount of people Rep slower to respond but does get things done eventually. Probably growing pains but something to be aware of. I've been very fortunate with Rep thus far.
@@GlucksGym That's good to hear. I won't write them off quite yet then. Maybe if I buy their rack, I can use all that saved money to buy a copy of "Being patient for idiots"
They send me a curl bar with a cut in the steel and gave me a $50 credit, which was cool. I’ll still buy stuff from rogue. My racks I’ll buy from bridgebuilt.
I have more problems because I don’t have a TH-cam channel yet I have multiple 3x3 racks. Had next to no issues ordering my Monster or RML rack from Rogue. Aside from my Monster bolts escaping their box, which I admit is a problem. Funny enough, Rep has always been the bane of my existence, I’ve yet to get something from them aside from a plate pack here and there that wasn’t totally screwed up thanks to poor packaging. Scratches, dents or just broken. Side note: How much was it to add those plate pins? They don’t come standard for non RM6 racks. Also, I am sorry it was so frustrating, as you can see, we all have our white whale company it seems, mine being Rep
It didn't cost extra for the pins because it's technically an RM6 they charge you for, just shortened. I've ordered more than most from these companies and I have to say recent experiences are opposite of years ago.
@@GlucksGym Yeah my Rogue purchases have been the last year or two like I had said with my Rep comment I feel like sometimes we just get hit with bad luck with certain companies. My brother has had zero issues with Titan which has always baffled me. With companies so big, I guess there are bound to be outliers in either direction
Great review Gluck. Do you have issues hitting the uprights when walking out squats? I'm considering an RM - 3 but concerned that it's too overkill and will certainly jepordize my marriage with my wife. I'm more worried about hitting the uprights though.
A bit, I don't have a ton of issues but I workout with others and they don't do as well with it. It definitely gets bumped more than the other rack. It may test the marriage 😂
While I do appreciate the sentiment behind reducing single-use packaging, that box of HW might have been taking it a bit too far. Even Titan doesn't do that.
When I bought my rack I went through the customer images of all the 3x3 monster and monster life variations on their website. And a lot of the reviews say the same thing you did. That the color isn’t what it looks like on the website. Also saw one post on Reddit that explained the grey definitely doesn’t look the same in person. Idk why I took the time to do this research when I knew I was getting black anyway but whatever lol
hahaha I get it, I do the same thing. It's unfortunate because it's such an easy fix for such a large company and would solve a lot of customer issues.
@@Iron-and-strings thieving? How so? I’ve only ever had one problem. An order was missing a part. It took a 5 min call, on a Friday afternoon before 3 day weekend, and it arrived the next day. At the end of the day, it’s just steel, and I’m just a modest lifter. No need for $2-$3k racks for me
He means they copying other company's ideas. I try to mention it in almost all my videos with them. Sometimes sarcastically as a joke but they are notorious for copying things down to the measurement. They have been sued in the past and have done it to 1 man shops as well like the Stealth Leg Press and many other pieces they make came from.
I love Rogue equipment, but the prices are just too high for me to justify a lot of things like a Power Rack from them. I do love their barbells, but almost every other piece of equipment I get from other brands. And to top it all off, the shopping and handling is just an extra kick in the 🥜
Like you said they're too busy counting their money to care. My RM-3 uprights arrived full of surface rust on the insides. I emailed them and they didn't care saying it was normal. BS. Left me with a bad taste.
That's too bad. It's hard to coat in there but you'd hope it would at least arrive looking good. My Infinity R6 went through hell for years and still had nothing like that happen to it.
@@GlucksGym he’s one of the most genuine guys in the gun info world. Looks like he could be your uncle or something th-cam.com/video/K4FESGjiH3s/w-d-xo.html
Am I out of my mind here?! Let me know your recent Rogue experiences!
Pretty bad tbh. Sold everything and went with all Irwin Fitness.
Got some Boneyard Deep Dish plates in today. I didn't interact with their customer support, but the plates look great.
Being critically honest is what really separates this channel. Great share.
Thank you! Trying our best here but it's tough. Some people are loyal to corporations with their purchases but that's not the role of a reviewer.
Great honest review. Seems like most channels just praise rogue and make it seem they never do wrong.
It is a awesome rack, but for as much as you spend you should not have had all those small problems.
Believe me you make a lot more (and get less backlash) by saying everything is great. I'm with you on this one.
@@GlucksGym wow. Distressed? I expect more from rogue.

☺️ Thanks. We're grinding and trying to become something. Appreciate the support.
just received my RM-6, and unfortunately many of your points were realized in my order too.
Didn’t even notice the night and day until you said something. Really tone in what you were saying . Awesome video
Thank you! 😂 guess the video was pretty smooth.
Another great review!
I'd love an in-depth comparison between the two racks!
It'll happen in time! Thank you!
keep up the great work . great video . You being so critically honest is what really separates this channel. Great working on your review . cant wait for more videos and cant wait for another bench giveaway :D

@@GlucksGym i am all ab out getting at least one just saying lol im open to getting more than one with arms wide open lol
I have two Rogue Monster racks love them and have had no issues.
Great review and I 100% get where you are coming from. I love Rogue equipment and they've always been super responsive. To me it is all about value and when you are charging top of market prices the value means everything has to be perfect so I think it's fair to hold them to that standard bc that's where they have put themselves.
I agree completely. Still love them but this one wasn't a great experience. Luckily my latest few have been.
Had the same problem with the bolt packaging on my RM6. Box was damaged and half of them were missing but they eventually sent me spares. Make sure you take a picture of the damaged box before you open it
Seems it's a very common issue, still waiting for it to be resolved but I'm sure it won't be a problem.
I had an experience, where none of the bolt came and a bunch of additional parts missing. With the upright starched up. Rogue made it right, but it was annoying. I do love the rack after month of use. Definitely get the monster over the monster lite.
Their service is mostly still great they just fight you a bit more than they use to
Great review and I can totally resonate with your feelings!
At the end of the day the few mistakes they make they over fix the problem.
pathetic
Sorinex does the same with their bolts but only bright zinc which don’t show wear as much. Just wait till the black zinc turns green 😝. On a side note I didn’t like all the individual packages of hardware that REP does either.
I don't like how Rep does their bolts either. Too much waste imo but there's gotta be an in between.
@A Bilancione probably the concrete anchors. REP sends them with the rack
I find Rep Fitness, Surplus Strength and Kabuki Strength all package significantly better than Rogue.
@@markhalstead2386 Yea Rogue is essentially the Titan of shipping in regards to mid-high tier gym equipment.
I do think Rep goes a bit overboard with the hardware packaging and wish it created less waste but they're definitely night and day. We may do that some to speed things up since a few others workout with us but who's rack is whose ...😂
@@GlucksGym welllll, she did give you usage of the 3rd bay before going full time...so I am on team W for the Rogue
@@GlucksGym I agree. I hate the plastic that encases the hardware.
Which I've done once since I got the Rogue rack 😂
One last note, some items like Rogue's drop in safeties don't exist for the shorter length. I solved that by getting some from Surplus Strength.
I just type “rogue fitness prices” and this comes up 😆. Love the video, love the gray rack 🤤.
Woooo I've finally made it 😂 thanks!
I'm happy their service holds up for the most part but it's unfortunate we've been having to use it more and more.
Thanks for the video. Whats the total foot print of this setup?
@@GlucksGym This was exactly the insight I was after. Thank you!
I've had great experiences with their bars for years and generally LOVE Rogue barbells. The 3.0 I was underwhelmed by but it's a solid bench.
@@GlucksGym I have the Incline/decline bench, it’s an older design, heavy and expensive, but worth it if you do decline work and want something super stable.
I was lucky as my Rogue bars have been fantastic.
Monster Lite Safety Spotter Arms do not come with any UHMW and have scratched to crap out of my rack.
Absolutely ridiculous. No excuse for such a simple add.
All good things come to an end. Is rogue headed there?🤔. Its nice to see you dont only complain about titan
Thanks! We'll def do that comparison and I bought the Ares so we'll see how that one does too
Same, I sold my Rogue rack at face value and ordered the Rep PR-5000 + Ares. Building it now!
..."and it's glorious."🤣🤣
Appreciate your candor. 👍🏼
Great informative review as usual! Any reviews of Sorinex Apex vs Rep or Rogue on the horizon? I am hearing great things about Sorinex at the moment.
Glad to see you liked it after walking away and cooling down. It looks good! Always partial to a darker gray color.
I'm a sucker for gray. I do still wish it were darker but it is what it is at this point and it's still a solid rack.
The 5/8" racks are more than most of us will ever need. Unfortunately they don't support them as well.
@@GlucksGym I know. Several Monster attachments exists that I would like, BUT they are never made for RML!
@@markhalstead2386 it sucks because originally I wanted a RML and though they've mentioned bringing things over I didn't want to take the risk.
How tall are your racks? And how does one choose a rack height to get, aside from how tall of a person they are?
One thing to note, someone from the Reddit home gym page recently showed the drop in rhino works perfectly in the RML 690 without an extra holes, etc. for some reason rogue doesn’t advertise it but you mentioned it not being available to the monster lite line so thought it was worth noting
Edit: and i experienced the same frustration with the clear satin.
Couldn't have said it better
Really well done review of the Rogue Monster. Took them 3 tries to ship me a full bright zinc hardware kit
that's too bad, they do always make it right in the end though (in my experience)
@@GlucksGym oh they absolutely do. I love my monster rack. Would probably save up some more for stray dog strength if I had to do it again
I'm not expecting perfection even though it would be reasonable to given price.
they should offer free shipping and install/assembly service for the prices they charge and not expect you to put all that shit together by hand.
Thorough, honest review man. Rogue monster racks are nice but I have had such a solid experience from order through to now using the PR5000 that I could not in good faith recommend the monster over it price considered.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I've had a lot of good experience with both companies but can't say this one has been great and it's a pattern lately.
Rep Fitness while made in China has similar quality to Rogue for way less cash. Personally, I try to avoid buying anything made in China.
Finally a video where someone isn't stroking Rogue.
Gotta protect those affiliate sales 😯
I got my rack almost 2 years ago this one but In red I was pissed about the box of bolts too had to get extras shipped because the box fell apart and was missing stuff
Makes perfect sense If I had the space I would love to have this!
Thank u😊

It can be overwhelming for sure

I had issues with my rogue rack as well. Was my first purchase from them and I actually have a video and everything on my channel about how bad the experience was.
Was my first and last rogue purchase. I’ll never purchase anything from them again after the issues I ran into. Seems like nothing has changed years after my issues.
Plan on getting the drop in rhino?

Yep! It's super clunky but doable with the 30" depth.
That's why i like and refer sorinex to most people because their racks are compatible with all of thier accessories
did you get the 6" or 12" storage pins for the rack?
Those are all 6"
I purchased a rogue rack because it had the customer service, made in America, and renowned attention to detail on welds and such. That being said REP destroys every single company in terms of packaging and value.
Funny you say that because every single thing I’ve bought from Rep had THE worst packaging I’ve ever seen in my life
Multiple power bars, benches, plates etc
All of it came damaged, scuffed up or even broken
To this day I’ve probably made about 25 huge purchases from Rep but it’s always destroyed by the time it gets to me (FL)
I've purchased more than most people from many companies and lately and I've seen Rep rise lately (they had a really rough start) and Rogue fall some.
@@GlucksGym
Within the past 2 years for me on my purchases with them
@@kozmo7 unfortunately I've had a lot of experiences that haven't gone well with Rogue lately and very good experiences with Rep. Nobody is perfect though but that premium price is underperforming that imported equipment for me lately.
@@GlucksGym
Yeah that’s weird. I wonder if it’s based on geography somewhat? I’ve had nothing but the opposite experience and I’ve built out 4 gyms so far. Rep being the biggest pain in my ass 😂
Thanks for the information. ❤
Does this mean you’ll be buying from Titan forever ;)
Stop that Luke! 😂😭
@@GlucksGymHAHAHA I had to do it😂
How long until you talk yourself into a Titan TITAN Series rack? I’d say it’s different enough from both Rogue and Rep to justify for “review” purposes 😬
I might need a little while after this one 😂
Ouch even titan t3 has uhmw lining on the jcup lip
Rogue prices is ridiculous.
Rogue is out of my budget…. Wife already has almost left me over my Rep purchases (used your affiliate links btw)
Thank you! Truly appreciate it! This channel has been known to be dangerous to marriages 😂😬
The echo in your gym is quite distracting; maybe it is just me 🤷🏻♂️
Not just you.
Overall, I’ll never lift to the point where Monster is worth it, but being able to mix and match attachments
Would have been nice.
Woah they so exist in the wild! Insane that the accessories aren't another step up as you'd think they'd follow the same pattern. Unfortunately even the Monster attachments have a lot of cut corners.
Glad you got angry at that black zinc situation thatd piss me off too wtf they doing!
I shall lower my expectations for when it comes time to buy one of these. Still leaning towards the Monster over a 5000/4000, because I’m gonna spend several thousand dollars, why not add on extra and make sure I am totally future proof attachment wise. Maybe that’s dumb but whatever
You'll probably have a better experience than I did. I've had quite good luck with Rogue over the years just not this time
@@GlucksGym sucks when it's a big-ass purchase though lol.
@@GlucksGym
Yeah my Rogue purchases have been the last year or two like I had said with my Rep comment
I feel like sometimes we just get hit with bad luck with certain companies.
@@GlucksGym Good to know, appreciate it!
While I do appreciate the sentiment behind reducing single-use packaging, that box of HW might have been taking it a bit too far. Even Titan doesn't do that.
Agreed. I think Rep goes too far with it but this is sad.
It is true in europe you can get same quality racks for half price allready
When I bought my rack I went through the customer images of all the 3x3 monster and monster life variations on their website. And a lot of the reviews say the same thing you did. That the color isn’t what it looks like on the website. Also saw one post on Reddit that explained the grey definitely doesn’t look the same in person. Idk why I took the time to do this research when I knew I was getting black anyway but whatever lol
hahaha I get it, I do the same thing. It's unfortunate because it's such an easy fix for such a large company and would solve a lot of customer issues.
When I was a spring chicken, I was able to get the Titan x2, a decent rack, for about $350. The world has changed so much since then…
Isn't it crazy? Old Titan was dirt cheap!
Yea, but it’s Titan….I despise that thieving company.
Completely understandable given their history
I love Rogue equipment, but the prices are just too high for me to justify a lot of things like a Power Rack from them. I do love their barbells, but almost every other piece of equipment I get from other brands. And to top it all off, the shopping and handling is just an extra kick in the 🥜
I love their barbells and currently have 5 (not counting specialty) and haven't had issues there. Unfortunately I can't say the same elsewhere.
Rouge recently let me down pretty hard. I was so confused I couldn't believe it.
I can understand your being upset. Sleeping on that rack for a few nights would make anyone cranky.
Hahaha OK that was pretty good!
Nice shirt 👕
If you had a monolift attachment for your rack you could do a review and Winnie wouldn't have to do a walkout anymore.
Hahaha you're right. We'll probably review some at some point for sure.
Rogue let me down as well. Promised me one thing and without a hint of guilt took it back. I paid big money and did not get what I was promised.
Real question, are you related to Paul Harrell?
I've gotten that a few times but I haven't watched his stuff what am I missing?
