Thanks Gluck - appreciate what you do. Just finished putting mine together 2 days ago. I got the standalone twin stack. Thought I’d share my thoughts in case it helps anyone. Gluck is right: build quality is very high. Feel is as good as you will get. I particularly like the way the low row feels. Attachments are very good, although the pulldown bar is quite heavy. My wife could not change it by herself. Now for some real talk: this thing is a beast. It took me 3 hours just to move it all from the garage to the basement. Assembly took multiple days. This is not a small project. Yes, I was able to do it myself. No, it was probably not a good idea. That said, if I built another one with a partner, it go much faster. Packaging was great but tons of material to dispose of. I was able to pay the driver to help me unload the boxes off the pallet and take the pallet with him. I have very mixed feelings about the shrouds. If you get them, MOUNT THEM FROM THE INSIDE. instructions did not cover this, but if you try to mount them from the outside they will get scratched. You can take them off if you don’t like them but there is a small bracket on the bottom crossbeam that will stick out. Still not sure if I like the look. Unfortunately, because of the mounting bracket, if you don’t order them up front I think it would hard to add them later. I do not like the trolleys. They are not just 2 hands. You need to stand square, use 2 hands and 3 fingers on each hand. They are VERY heavy. Yes, very smooth. But heavy and cumbersome to the point where my wife probably cannot change them. I seriously doubt she can lift them overhead. There’s overkill, there’s Rogue and there’s these trolleys. I do wish the starting weight was even lighter for shoulder cuff movements, particularly rehab type movements. The starting weight (20, feels like 10) does move smoothly and is very useable. Practically, a lighter starting weight would probably be too light to work correctly, so there’s a trade off. I wish the shrouds had built in storage for handles and attachments. There isn’t an obvious, clean way to integrate storage, which I think is a miss from Rouge. Overall, a very good piece of equipment for serious training. If you are on the fence on the shrouds, skip them. Some beginners, lighter weight class, older and female lifters might prefer a true functional trainer for lighter weights and ease of changing pulley height. Hardcores will not be disappointed. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for this. I was going to buy this FM-6 Twin until this review caused Rogue to raise their price well above the Ares 2.0 so I ordered the Ares 2.0. I’ve been a little bummed out about not getting what I’d really wanted but I will be working out with my wife and tore my shoulder last year so I appreciate the easy of moving the trolley and lighter strarting weight for rehab movements or some super deep drop sets. Thanks for this feedback!
@@path4061 The 90 inch I assume was based on sweet spot of most basements from older houses. Same for me, i have 93 inches w/o mats and finished celling
@@brandonv8721same. I have 95” between floor and crossbeams in my unfinished basement. After 1” double OSB board platform and 3/4” stall mats, I have 93” to play with. That means the 93” REP, which is 93.9” with the Ares 2.0 is just ever so slightly too tall. I actually considered carving back small passes in the cross beams for the cables to pass through. But for not too much more, I can just buy a Rogue which will fit. The biggest issue and only reason I’m still debating is the footprint of the Rep is smaller because they have a 16” width between the back two posts and middle posts, whereas Rogue requires a 24”.

You forgot to mention the surprise rogue gives you, you showed it but didnt mention it! The 3x3 Strips that were used for packaging! I already had one for my echo GHD, but 2 more to put up behind the rack makes for excellent storage! $130 worth of 3x3 strips and they dont even tell you its included! I love it! Thanks for the review! You've helped me decide what to buy many times!
Wait what I missed this. That’s so awesome! Can these be wall mounted? Can you elaborate on what kind of hardware is included with these extra 3x3 (wall mount, rack mount?)
@zdoubleyou2073 They dont included any lag bolts for this, but you can get them at lowes or home depot. They were specifically built to be wall mounted. Look up the rogue 3x3 strip. There's a few things you can do with them!

I emailed Rogue regarding the option to remove the 8 x storage pins, since i don't need them. They say they could remove it from the order but not lower the price. There is about 300-400 $ worth of storage pin on there. Price could be lower without the pins.

We got our FM-6 Twin Stack (100” height, 43” in Burnt Orange to match our KTM bikes that are lined up in front of it) at the beginning of September. Put it together slowly because it was still triple digit heat here and we don’t have a mini split in our garage yet. Been loving it except for the safety straps being such a pain and not allowing the trollies to go all the way down. But I’m going to get some of those pins you recommended and my love affair with my Rogue will be back in full force! Great review - keep them coming!
I have the twin…it’s unpacked and scattered all over my gym floor. This is great information, and I’m sure I will love mine, once I get around to installing it. The only bad part is that I have to move my lever arms to the inside. Hopefully they work well together.
Since there was no video today, I managed to watch this one start to finish. Really well done. Although I think your low row positioning with the bench might get you "me too'd" in most local gyms.
Spent the last three days building out the FM-6 twin. Absolutely love it! I should be good to go for the next 100 years on the frame, although I may need a new pulley or two as well as some replacement cables before i reach the ripe age of 150. Get a second person for the build if you can. I got help at some key points in the build, and did all else solo. I only had one near death experience with the wife and a falling Rogue nameplate. Other than that, smooth sailing yet now we have a story to tell.
I ordered the Ares 2.0. 1. Rep was able to apply a lot of feedback to the design. Rogue does not have that benefit. 2. Rogue Monster safety straps do not come off the upright, so they would be a pain with the front pulleys. 3. The Rep rack is 8” shorter in length (24” vs 16” rear), which is important in a small gym. 4. With the shrouds, there is no way to increase weights on rogue with smaller increases than 5 pounds front and 10 pounds rear. Rep has 5 pound adder weights built-in to accomplish this. 5. Rep has the labels for the effective weight while Rogue uses the actual weight. I prefer less math at 4:00 a.m. 6. The lat pulldown pulley is higher up on the Rep rack than Rogues due to 93” vs 90” crossmembers. 7. I had a discount making Ares 2.0 much less expensive. 8. Rep ships the rack ASAP and Ares in October vs Rogue ships their version as one unit meaning no power rack for 6-8 weeks.
Forgot to mention a few things like easier 1 handed trolley movement, better cable starting points on the top and bottom - smaller pulleys, and uni-lateral movement as an option. Just more function in the footprint.
#2- I replaced the bolts in my safety straps with hitch pins (Basement Brandon has a video on this) and they are now quick and easy to remove. I know this doesn't help you, but it might help someone else.
I ordered the Ares 2.0 too. But then I watched this video and decided to cancel it and order the Rogue. I have a Rogue Rhino and I’m confident the quality will be superior to Ares 2.0.
Great review on both single and twin stack, I’ve watched both. I just have a question, did you bolt your systems to the ground? Wondering if I can get away without bolting them myself.

Great review, the cable travel and footprint info was extremely useful and having the back of the rack open due to the stacks being on the sides is the deciding factor for me.
Minor comment. I switched the safety strap bolts for hitch pins, but rarely use them. My rack is an RM-3, meaning I can reach for the metal piece on each side of the straps and raise or lower them both at the same time. I bought the pins before the rack even arrived (back in 2021) and now I don't really take the pins out. It's still nice to have.
I'm just gonna say it. Gluck's is better than that other Garage ____ _____ channel. I'll take Gluck's innuendo over the Garage's creeper mustache any day.

I’m on a Rogue squat rack and was thinking of saving up for a separate functional trainer but these integrated systems are just too good and this one seems like the best based on your review. I would love to see a comparison between REP’s and Rogue’s dual stack integrated racks though. Great job as usual!🎉
Hahaha I might already be a pro. It's why we don't comment on build time and difficulty as much anymore. After you've done it way too many times it becomes robotic and our experience isn't realistic to others.
It often sounds much like a recitation of company promo material for those that don't like to read lol, but both Rogue and REP have good products that often overfill the needs of the average user on a budget.

Gluck -- random question. I think I see you using the ghost roller jcup. If so, was that a recent order? Recent orders (post rogue acquisition) are commenting that the quality is suspect; specifically it doesn't lay flush against the rack. Any insight there?

Would like to see how Rogue incorporates an updated version of the Rhino. It's a big deciding factor if I should invest in the plate loaded or twin stack. I really love the convivence of the weight stack, but I do love the Rogue Rhino equally as much lol.
I'm also interested to see how well the new Rhino incorporates into the Plate Loaded Single. Shouldn't be hard (they intentionally designed it to) but there's def a few things they need to get right.
Yesterday (12/21/24), I received a shipment for free from Rogue which had WEIGHT STACK PIN HOLDERS for each stack AND replacement stickers for the weight stacks, complete with sticker labels to differentiate the weights when doing lat pulldown/low row versus the individual handles ("Actual: Weight when using Lat/Row" and "Effective: Weight when split between two handles"). I'm assuming everyone who purchased the FM Twin will get these at some point and new purchases will just have included.
@glucks gym this video has Rep spooked. They created a video and everything lol. Rep if you want to compete then I suggest you lower your prices. Most Americans are going with American made when the price point is comparable. Rep you know you can lower the price by hundreds just look at your Aries 1.0 sell price. Just my 2 cents. Expect a full day! I could not get it done in a day. A helper will make a big difference - I did it alone. If you have the shrouds, install them from the inside. If you try to install them from the outside, they will get scratched. Ask me how I know. . . Do not tighten everything right away. You’ll need a bit of play to get everything to fit, then you can tighten.
Looks awesome. I have the Rep Ares 1.0 and it works just great. If I was buying all over right now it would be an option, but to sell and upgrade isn’t worth the hassle (time and money) to upgrade and get some added quality and minimal benefits. ares 1.0 works just fine for what I need. But this one does look good.
With all these multi-use racks coming out it would be great if you reviewed the Force USA C10! It truly seems like a real do-it-all rack. Love your reviews man

I'm in the market for a functional trainer/rack (who isn't right now) and am wondering if you have much experience with Vesta Fitness. Their new 3 in 1 seems very tempting and would love to know your opinions.
@@MaudlinCake we've used some Vesta stuff (you can see us at their booth at one of our Home Gym Con vids). It's decent stuff. Their sales are pretty nice and we plan on reviewing some of their stuff. Just a note some of their stuff is white labeled so the Dane from Fringe for example is basically the same thing as Vestas 2 in 1 with the pulley ratio changed.
If one were to buy the half rack version, would the cables get in the way of the bar/plates since you'd be benching off the same posts as the trolleys?
That green is stunning, wish it was a textured/matte green tho. Definitely an awesome system to have! I'm surprised nobody mentions how the rogue option is 24" deep at the back where REP's Ares 2.0 is only 16" deep. To me that's the biggest difference. Combine this with the fact that imported racks arent as wide as made in america racks, and REP's Ares 2.0 is quite a bit more compact. Another big issue i have with Rogue is their rack builder. You have to pay for their Jcups, safeties, and pull up bar, wether you want them or not. I even messaged them about a custom quote and they said they can not ship them to me if I wanted, but the price will be the same. Where as REP you can simply go into your cart and remove what you dont want after adding your built rack into your cart. Not a fan of Rogue's multi grip pull up bar or how they dont offer flip downs on anything other then their 40"+ depth.

I cannot decide between this or the Ares 2.0. I’ve been decided on one or the other like 10 times. I like on the Rep that the back posts are only a 16” width, so it has a smaller footprint.
Our Ares 2.0 came in so we're working on that review and it sounds like people want a side by side comparison vid as well. It will take some time but maybe those will help you decide.
I can see the value, but that's so much more than I'll ever use. I've done the Maximum Effort thing, and it was fun for a season; now I'm just trying to stay south of Dadbod in less than 40 minutes, 3 times per week.
What a great review! I’d be interested in your providing a recommended build. You pointed out in your review some interesting substitutions. It would be great if you formalized a configuration with Rogue and 3rd party bits and pieces that you think provides an ideal solution. You have experience with Rogue and other third-party equipment that is mere mortals can only dream of.
Congrats on the baby! Great review. I have been waiting on this. Is there room on the middle uprights to have the 50 Cal Trolley's so I can use my short lever arms inside the rack? It looks like the weight stack takes up too much of the 16" of spaces to where I would not be able to access the trolley to move it up and down.

I have the twin…it’s unpacked and scattered all over my gym floor. This is great information, and I’m sure I will love mine, once I get around to installing it. The only bad part is that I have to move my lever arms to the inside. Hopefully they work well together.

Algorithm. This is kind of a rehashed video but none the less, I appreciate your humor and detail.
Since there was no video today, I managed to watch this one start to finish. Really well done. Although I think your low row positioning with the bench might get you "me too'd" in most local gyms.
Spent the last three days building out the FM-6 twin. Absolutely love it!
I should be good to go for the next 100 years on the frame, although I may need a new pulley or two as well as some replacement cables before i reach the ripe age of 150.
Get a second person for the build if you can. I got help at some key points in the build, and did all else solo. I only had one near death experience with the wife and a falling Rogue nameplate. Other than that, smooth sailing yet now we have a story to tell.

I ordered the Ares 2.0.
1. Rep was able to apply a lot of feedback to the design. Rogue does not have that benefit.
2. Rogue Monster safety straps do not come off the upright, so they would be a pain with the front pulleys.
3. The Rep rack is 8” shorter in length (24” vs 16” rear), which is important in a small gym.
4. With the shrouds, there is no way to increase weights on rogue with smaller increases than 5 pounds front and 10 pounds rear. Rep has 5 pound adder weights built-in to accomplish this.
5. Rep has the labels for the effective weight while Rogue uses the actual weight. I prefer less math at 4:00 a.m.
6. The lat pulldown pulley is higher up on the Rep rack than Rogues due to 93” vs 90” crossmembers.
7. I had a discount making Ares 2.0 much less expensive.
8. Rep ships the rack ASAP and Ares in October vs Rogue ships their version as one unit meaning no power rack for 6-8 weeks.
Forgot to mention a few things like easier 1 handed trolley movement, better cable starting points on the top and bottom - smaller pulleys, and uni-lateral movement as an option. Just more function in the footprint.
For me the footprint is the more important criteria is the quality is decent enough
#2- I replaced the bolts in my safety straps with hitch pins (Basement Brandon has a video on this) and they are now quick and easy to remove. I know this doesn't help you, but it might help someone else.
I ordered the Ares 2.0 too. But then I watched this video and decided to cancel it and order the Rogue. I have a Rogue Rhino and I’m confident the quality will be superior to Ares 2.0.
Great review on both single and twin stack, I’ve watched both. I just have a question, did you bolt your systems to the ground? Wondering if I can get away without bolting them myself.
This is something I might think about. My Bulletproof VTS would work great on this and would complete my wishlist.

Great review, the cable travel and footprint info was extremely useful and having the back of the rack open due to the stacks being on the sides is the deciding factor for me.

Minor comment. I switched the safety strap bolts for hitch pins, but rarely use them. My rack is an RM-3, meaning I can reach for the metal piece on each side of the straps and raise or lower them both at the same time. I bought the pins before the rack even arrived (back in 2021) and now I don't really take the pins out. It's still nice to have.

I’m on a Rogue squat rack and was thinking of saving up for a separate functional trainer but these integrated systems are just too good and this one seems like the best based on your review. Hahaha I might already be a pro. It's why we don't comment on build time and difficulty as much anymore. After you've done it way too many times it becomes robotic and our experience isn't realistic to others.
It often sounds much like a recitation of company promo material for those that don't like to read lol, but both Rogue and REP have good products that often overfill the needs of the average user on a budget.

Gluck -- random question. I think I see you using the ghost roller jcup. If so, was that a recent order? Recent orders (post rogue acquisition) are commenting that the quality is suspect; specifically it doesn't lay flush against the rack. Any insight there?

Would like to see how Rogue incorporates an updated version of the Rhino. It's a big deciding factor if I should invest in the plate loaded or twin stack. I really love the convivence of the weight stack, but I do love the Rogue Rhino equally as much lol.
This is where I am at. I am holding off making a decision until I see the rhino version.
Plate loaded on everything would be really annoying. Worth getting a stand alone if you have the room.
I'm also interested to see how well the new Rhino incorporates into the Plate Loaded Single. Shouldn't be hard (they intentionally designed it to) but there's def a few things they need to get right.

The only issue is that shipping to anywhere outside USA is, a major PITA to say the least
Yesterday (12/21/24), I received a shipment for free from Rogue which had WEIGHT STACK PIN HOLDERS for each stack AND replacement stickers for the weight stacks, complete with sticker labels to differentiate the weights when doing lat pulldown/low row versus the individual handles ("Actual: Weight when using Lat/Row" and "Effective: Weight when split between two handles"). I'm assuming everyone who purchased the FM Twin will get these at some point and new purchases will just have included.
Did the stickers have weight in Ilbs only or Ilbs and kg?

Expect a full day! I could not get it done in a day. A helper will make a big difference - I did it alone. If you have the shrouds, install them from the inside. If you try to install them from the outside, they will get scratched. Ask me how I know. . . Do not tighten everything right away. You’ll need a bit of play to get everything to fit, then you can tighten.
Was yours the add on? Also I went with out the shrouds since my kids are older (and to save some money). Thanks for the advice
I got the add on and it took about 10 hours to install solo. Could be done faster if you stay organized and have help.

Looks awesome. I have the Rep Ares 1.0 and it works just great. If I was buying all over right now it would be an option, but to sell and upgrade isn’t worth the hassle (time and money) to upgrade and get some added quality and minimal benefits. ares 1.0 works just fine for what I need. But this one does look good.

You still need the spacers without the shrouds. There's a very small overlap between the horns and the weight stacks. I tested it.

I'm in the market for a functional trainer/rack (who isn't right now) and am wondering if you have much experience with Vesta Fitness. Their new 3 in 1 seems very tempting and would love to know your opinions.
@@MaudlinCake we've used some Vesta stuff (you can see us at their booth at one of our Home Gym Con vids). It's decent stuff. Their sales are pretty nice and we plan on reviewing some of their stuff. Just a note some of their stuff is white labeled so the Dane from Fringe for example is basically the same thing as Vestas 2 in 1 with the pulley ratio changed.
If one were to buy the half rack version, would the cables get in the way of the bar/plates since you'd be benching off the same posts as the trolleys?
That green is stunning, wish it was a textured/matte green tho. Definitely an awesome system to have!
I'm surprised nobody mentions how the rogue option is 24" deep at the back where REP's Ares 2.0 is only 16" deep. To me that's the biggest difference. Combine this with the fact that imported racks arent as wide as made in america racks, and REP's Ares 2.0 is quite a bit more compact.
Another big issue i have with Rogue is their rack builder. You have to pay for their Jcups, safeties, and pull up bar, wether you want them or not. I even messaged them about a custom quote and they said they can not ship them to me if I wanted, but the price will be the same. Where as REP you can simply go into your cart and remove what you dont want after adding your built rack into your cart. Not a fan of Rogue's multi grip pull up bar or how they dont offer flip downs on anything other then their 40"+ depth.
I hope that by the time I'm ready to add something like this to my rack, I hope that they have a version for an 84" rack.

I cannot decide between this or the Ares 2.0. I’ve been decided on one or the other like 10 times. I like on the Rep that the back posts are only a 16” width, so it has a smaller footprint.
Our Ares 2.0 came in so we're working on that review and it sounds like people want a side by side comparison vid as well. It will take some time but maybe those will help you decide.

What a great review! I’d be interested in your providing a recommended build. You pointed out in your review some interesting substitutions. It would be great if you formalized a configuration with Rogue and 3rd party bits and pieces that you think provides an ideal solution. You have experience with Rogue and other third-party equipment that is mere mortals can only dream of.

Is there room on the middle uprights to have the 50 Cal Trolley's so I can use my short lever arms inside the rack? It looks like the weight stack takes up too much of the 16" of spaces to where I would not be able to access the trolley to move it up and down.
