I am picking up my Rogue RM4 Fortis Rack on Tuesday in Columbus. Making a road trip from Cleveland. I have been saving for a while and debating over the bolt together or welded. And since the welded pannels are significantly cheaper it's a no brainier. Monster compatible and the same price as a Monster Light. I will probably add a new crossmember at some point and move the pull-up bar to the middle.
@@Pler1978 more hardware I guess. It's nice if you have restrictions moving it. Mine is going in my garage so no height or width issues. And less customization options. Just black which is fine.
I did this upgrade and it’s well worth it… I added the cross member in the center of my RM6 and moved the name plate to the back. Mainly so that I use more of the upright for the trolley arms since the name plate takes up so much vertical real-estate and also put my Surplus UPS inside the rack. It’s a great upgrade. Now I just need to get the Brandon bench prop and mount the low row UPS to it.
I have the the rm4 in the same color and was wondering why rogue doesn't make there rogue logo black and have the square tubing white to match the rest of the rack on the name plate cross member.
You could have just added used a loop strap and added carabiners to that to protect your bar finish. But who am I to say, I have a monster front cross member too.
Did you consider doing black for consistency with the pull-up bar and rear crossmember? I'm adding one of these to my gray rack and am torn between doing gray to match the frame or black to match the other upper attachments.
I am glad I watched this I am going to take the rogue off the cross member and move it to the front I have the lite. So I'll move the pull up bar to the back. I saw a picture someone put the rogue emblem on the pillar I think I'll do that
Trying to decide what rack to order. Can you move the pull-up bar to the top without an extra cross member? Not sure if it would sacrifice stability, but I need a couple more inches.
I wanted to emulate it in the RML configuration. It is quite curious the XML43 in the RML line is just a plain crossmember without gussets... but on the RIG options in the RML line you see the XML with gussets but no way to select those separatedly... strange... in order to obtain the look you have here in the RM line you need to get FOUR of those XML43 on the RIG option... why? I think it is a way to distinguish between RM and RML series. With gussets is a lot nicer I think. :/
I know this is an older post, but where can you get those shackles/carabiner attachments that you showed bolted to the crossmember? Also, what ab straps do you recommend? Thanks!
I'm not sure the upper ones will since Rogue uses a different style. REPs crossmembers are all centered on the brace where Rogue's upper ones are at the top.
Depending on where it's going it might be harder to get it in (like a small stairway/door). Also in the instance where you might need to connect something near the bottom feet you may not be able to. They're great value racks though!!

Hi Brandon! I asked in another of your RM-3 video if REP Lat/Low Pulldown attachment can be fit onto the RM-3. I now noticed that the Top of the NamePlate Crossmember do not have any 1” holes (just a flat surface). Would it be possible to add a crossmember (like the one you bought in this video) on the back (using the top 3 holes on the upright) then put the NamePlate crossmember below. Would this setup be able to install the REP Lat/Low pulldown attachment?
It’s more than just the top name plate. Rep and rogue use different heights, widths, and measurements (metric vs imperial) so you’d likely have to do a lot of extra work to make it fit.
@@BasementBrandon I think the Surplus Strength Lat Pulldown is more versatile to fit on the RM-3 and I have seen your review too! Thanks Brandon for doing all these awesome and honest reviews!! Appreciate that soooo much!!

I think I will get the Rhino Drop In and Surplus Strength Top Pulley - as a pulley system for the RM-3 instead of trying to install the REP Lat/Low pulldown attachment - think they will fit better together. Hey Brandon. I see Rogue now has a separate product page listed as “Monster 43” Top Beam”. Is this the same as what you’re talking about here? I see in the description it mentions the RM-4 and RM-6 but not the RM-3.
Yes. The 43 in it refers to the length. The RM4 and RM6 are 43" deep, so they would be used for the sides of the rack. However all rogue racks are 43" wide inside so all racks would use this piece if trying to do what I show here.
The more I see your videos the more I'm diggin' the white color on the rack.. Have you noticed any issues with it being harder to keep clean, or scratching more noticeable?
Hi mate thinking of doing this but adding the ROGUE V2 FACE MOUNT PULL-UP BAR to the beam, it only comes in ML version tho, do you think it be ok to trust make the holes bigger to attaché to fit the monsters beam, would dimensions be ok? I’m having the rhino drop in and then central cross member to add stringer down the middle. So no option of pull-up bar inside of the rack.
Great videos, can I move the rear crossmember on the RM4 to the front and then order a new crossmember for the rear with the Rogue name plate? Will the XM-43m multi grip crossmember fit in between the two crossmembers or would that become the front crossmember. Thanks
Yeah think of these as big legos. As long as the pieces you're using are the same size as the space you're trying to put them in (43" or 30" for monster) than you can plug and play.
In your 3 mistake video from a while ago you stated that you wish you would have purchased the RML 490 and use the back for plate storage is there a reason why you didn't get the RM4 and done the same thing?
@brandon I have a suggestion for a video. I m about to start recording my lifts. Do you have a suggestion for a decent setup and if someone wanted to edit that footage a good program for mac and pc?
Best bet is to use your phone before investing in camera gear. If you want to buy a physical camera, I think the Sony A6300-6500 offer some great options if you want 4k with the ability to adapt lenses. For software, it really depends on what you get comfortable using and learning. I primarily use Premiere, but FCPX is good too.
One thing I've seen nobody mention is the useless rogue name plates that bolt to the front. You lose a bunch of holes. I didn't even put mine on. Wish it was an option so I could save a couple bucks. That being said I am very happy with the switch from rml to the monster series. It's too bad you didn't get the full rack. The lever arms (short) are really useful.
Brandon Campbell Diamond yeah it definitely makes it much more solid especially if your not bolted down, like I am. I originally ordered the stabilizer for the bottom of the rack but it wouldn’t work that way with my Bench, because my neck was hanging off of the bench which I didn’t like one bit. They should make a lower stabilizer that goes outside the rack shaped like a U so the stabilizer doesn’t get in the way.
I believe so (assuming the rack is 43" inside). The issue is more the height. The SM1 is only 70" tall so this beam will get in the way of squatting for a lot of people.
Hey Brandon, where did you get those carabiner attachments? I too have the same issue with my ab straps and pull up bar. I didn't see these carabiner attachments on Rogue's site? Thanks!
Thanks for the great information! I'm upgrading my old power rack and purchased a Rogue -390F Monster Lite. I also want to move the front pull up bar to the center of the rack because I also have rings and ab straps that I want to set up in the front. Which crossmember did you purchase and is it the same for the Monster Lite series?
The Monster LIte crossmembers are slightly different as they use different hardware sizes, if you go on Rogues site and just search for monster lite crossmembers you should be able to pull up the product page.

Again, I have an Ohio Power Bar and I love it, but I'd steer clear of the standard Ohio Bar, or many of the barbells that have similar specs as it.
I personally don't worry about size any more. Spent a lot of time just mastering the movement. 😬
hey now!
Great, now I’m gonna look at our new Monster racks like there’s a gap between their teeth! 😆
lol sorry!
I did this using soft tie straps for loading motorcycles, cost about $6, works great but doesn’t look nearly as cool as yours.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I should have finished the thought: "But if I were posting videos of myself on TH-cam in front of my rack all the time, I would have done it the way you did it." I did it the cheap way because it's just my son & me in the garage, and I don't care about form, only function, & this stuff gets expensive.I enjoy your channel!John
Totally get it! Even if I weren't doing TH-cam videos I'd probably have still done it. I just really like this kind of stuff (if you haven't figured that out yet).
This is the best cross member for front of monster rack IMO adds support, and allows many different angles for pull ups and chin ups Rogue XM-43R NEUTRAL GRIP ROTATING PULL-UP BAR. Check it out Brandon. You need to do a video on it
I'm not sure I can justify the functionality/space and the price!
@@BasementBrandon Factor in your two chin up bars and the front cross member you bought, and it pretty close to a wash. Plus you can hang from your feet on that cross member.
@@seabreezeof To get the pull up bar and the front crossmember I have runs
@@BasementBrandon Perhaps one day Rogue will send you it to review on your channel, and you will see how versatile it is with any desired width, and angle you want to grip it. Sorinex offers one that does just about the same at 1/2 the price, "Cliff Hangers" but Sorinex is 41" & Rogue is 43" wide cross member. however I seen it on 2 types of cross bars one that is solid with no holes, and another with the standard 1" holes. Plus you can attach directly to Sorinex Full or Half Safety Bars for dips.
Looks 10x better!!!
Thanks!
Would be really cool, if you could do vid about minimum requirements space wise for a home gym. There are plenty of groups on facebook, but most incorporate a lot of machines that i would never use. just as you i train powerlifting orientented and just need a rack, weight, dbs, kbs, ideally a reverse hyper, airdyne stuff like that. considering how you break down so many items, ideal space and height would make a nice addition to your videos. ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll revisit some of my home gym builds!
Who doesn’t like a nice monster sized aesthetically pleasing rack?
hey now
Michale Stayhan wants to see you outside.
lol
Good and simple idea!
Thanks man!
If you put in the comments that you want an extra top crossmember when ordering your Monster rack, you can get it for $20.
Nice!
"Stay Big Brandon"
Trying man
This guy isn't house poor he's gym poor.
we all have our hobbies :)
Customization obzins
yus
I could use another 2 to 3 inches myself...on my biceps, I mean. LOL!
hiyyo!
@@BasementBrandon I learned from the best.
Validation!...I’ve considered doing the same...
I love the change
Gapped-toothed Betty?!! 😆 LOL!!
:)
or just remove the useless rogue ad you have in the back of the rack?
Looks better with it TBH plus I have my own custom nameplate on the way.
So when are you going to stop dicking around and make your own manufacturing company? Hit up trident in CT get a Cnc machine.
ain't nobody got time fo dat!
I'm looking to build a garage gym here soon and would like to get a power rack. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Amstaff TR025 Power Rack. I know AlphaDestiny has one in his home gym and he seems to really like it. You can find his home gym tour here for reference: th-cam.com/video/-x1DifEocNM/w-d-xo.html
It's a foot in the door rack, depends on what kind of build you'd like!
I hope Lauren Hutton doesn’t watch this...
I don't know who that is lol.
@@BasementBrandon super model from 70’s/80’s known for having a gap in her front teeth...
Lol you act like half of us can afford one of those racks
They make the Fortis Rack. It's under a grand. Not bad value. And if you really look at what you spend on a monthly basis I bet you could afford one. I am guilty of spending on junk throughout the month. I just analyzed and cut the junk spending for a year and I get to take mine home Tuesday. Picking it up in Columbus.
lheimann05 _ $1000 or so for something that will last a lifetime and can retain almost all its value if ever resold is a bargain IMO.
