This is so hilarious about FPS gamers that don't seem to know shit about the reality of what they're playing the whole day long 😂 they don't understand that things get more and more similar as soon as they move closer to reality, which should be obvious. MW was just ahead of the curve in that regard. All of these reloads are basic tactical reloads that soldiers and law enforcement learn when it comes to weapon manipulation, this isn't rocket science.
Reload animations are not fluid with movements that feel several stages. Pull out the magazine...insert the magazine...and then.......pull the charging handle. But it's too great to be able to play with modern graphics with the atmosphere at that time!
The animations are pretty rough, incorrect sounds for the guns (BF4 G18 reload sounds on the 93R?) kinda feels like a last minute addition by management or the publisher. E: that G3A3 reload animation, big Oof. Stiff and weightless as heck E2: also that SMAW, Oof
i wont compare it to MW2019, but this is AAA title and those animations feel like they are from a mod or F2P game, hell even F2P games have better animations, even Vanguard got better animations.
These look rather... amateur. Like they were outsourced or DICE is in a desperate rush to get everything together. Attention to detail is lacking, and pretty much every movement is a mess. I'd criticized Battlefield's weapons in the past for being a bit stiff, but this is too far in the other direction. There's so much movement that doesn't correlate to any operation of the weapon in question, it makes things legitimately harder to understand. I'd also like to talk about how incredibly same-y the weapon sounds are. If you were blindfolded you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between most of these guns.
Well what do you expect when 3 different studios worked on each mode, all out warfare, hazard zone and portal? The game is a Frankenstein chinese ripoff of actual battlefield that shares the same name. They are not the same
Should have recycled the old animation, might be not as "tacticool" but they are smoother than these animations that follow the high speed clunky over-stylized animation trend that every game needs to have now apparently.
BF3's animations were smooth... too smooth and weak. I do agree that this modern trend has ran its course over the last two years and I'd prefer a bit more imagination when it comes to doing them BUT on the flip side the old animations weren't good either. They were the bare minimum to show a new magazine going into the gun
The anims look like theyre copied over from other weapons. I hope the devs properly animate them. The mp412 rex reload looks like hes prissily stamping a passport haha.
Can someone explain what happened to battlefield? BFV despite all of it's controversies looks amazing and have an excellent gunplay. This looks more like a 2010s release.
My main gripe is it looks like going to do what I thought they would; Portal will probably get patches but no major content additions which means not getting everything from the older games as far as equipment.
there 8 more maps planned for portal in 2022 (could be 2-3 more in 2023 but I doubt it), and 6-8 weapons every season (there will be 4 seasons in 2022) so we will get essentials
These animations are NOT done by the team working on 2042. It's most likely done by other studios since the Portal mode wasn't developed by the 2042 team.
@@bagasangga All the Portal bolt actions reuse the SWS-10's animations too, and pretty sure most/all of the pistols are the same as the G57. The MCX isn't an AR-15 family rifle, but it does have effectively the same controls (left-side bolt release) in the context of reusing the animations, yeah.
Should've just taken the animations and sound design from BF3 and BF4 and just ported them over to their BF:Portal counterparts in order to save time and money. Trying to replicate the weapons from each game but with new(?) sounds and animations wasn't really a wise move to make honestly. The first person animations look janky and inconsistent in quality. The firearm sound effects range from the reloading sfx sounding like the were recorded from nerf guns to the majority of the firing sfx sounding exactly the same. So yeah, I'm not exactly impressed with the sound design and the animation quality in Portal mode. I'm still very much looking forward to farting around in BF:Portal but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't disappointed in these two particular aspects of the mode. In my opinion, reusing assets from the previous BF games would've been perfectly acceptable and appropriate for a mode like Portal where you can mix and match weapons, gadgets, and maps from multiple different BF games.
By trying to follow the trend of overly tactical and impractical reload animation in game recently, a supposedly smooth reload feels even clunkier than the mag-out-mag-in approach.

Animations in BF3/4 were better too. A lot of stuff here is copy-pasted animations from the 2042 weapons, and much of the rest look... very unpolished.
Why are we comparing a secondary mode to the main version of the previous games? Base 2042 has amazing animations and also, this wasn't made by dice so the people probably don't have as much money to throw at this game like dice does
Oh god these animations are stiff. I know some battlefield animations arent the most well animated (looking at you bf1 m1917 machine gun), but these feel robotic, and definitely dont feel like a person is reloading them.
Well the thing with the M1917 MG was that it actually felt like it had weight to it. That thing is a damn MMG, not supposed to be carried around like that on a soldier in combat. But apart from that, the reloads look like a video I saw from a MGSV first person perspective reload video.

This is such a disappointment.
Ever since 2008, DICE never managed to understand how the DAO 12 works, it's incredible. On top of that, most animations feel clunky (some are even incorrect or incomplete) sound effects are weak and some movement either feel broken or half assed.

The animations and general lack of weapons makes me feel that the games in Portal aren't quite finished. Probably they will add more as post-launch weapons.
Please 'Read More' I love Battlefield. Always have for years until they started going back to WW1. But something feels off about these animations... I cannot wait to get my hands on 2042 because of all the modern firearms. However; here's something I have noticed about these reloads: 1. They are very inconsistent with some of the actions. Some too quick, some too slow. The charging handle gets pulled back for some guns, then immediately the hand just swoops off the screen. While for others, the action is much slower. 2. Weight simulation is very off. G3A3 has almost no weight to it when its reloaded, M39 EMR's mag reloaded way too fast, etc. MP412 just looks awful. 3. Sounds are off. M39 with no metal cling? Sounded like it has a plastic mag catch and bolt. Main noticeable one for me. 4. ACW-R has a strange reload. From my understanding (Correct me if I am wrong) the bolt release is near the trigger guard near the bottom of the mag well. Why is he slapping the mag release instead? It looks weird. ACR's are known for their ambidextrous mag releases and bolt releases. Very odd animation. Some pros: AR platforms like the M416 and M16A3 have some attention to detail that are very noticeable (but hardly any sound indication). That is the selector switch being changed while mag is removed and switched back to its proper firing mode after the bolt's release. Nice touch. Most guns seem to have jiggling parts to show realism as well.
Except I've noticed that the M16 and HK416's selectors are stuck in semi even when they're firing full auto. Even their attention to detail is inconsistent.
I personally started with ww1 and adored it, it was fun, felt balanced, and was enjoyable. My main problem with BF4 was the balance between foot soldier and a jet, Main problem aith 2042 is the fact my pc that can run games on high with a stable framerate cant run this on low.
Honestly, I’m not really impressed. Some of these are very janky and robotic. I feel like Portal is going through the same issue that Black Ops Cold War did in that the style of animations is varied and very inconsistent. You have some weapons that are very well animated (mainly the ones taking animations from the base game and some like the P90, imo), but then you also have some super robotic animations like the AKS-74U, LMGs, etc. It’s jarring to see this drastic jump in quality. They should’ve just animated all the weapons like the base game. Those animations are good imo. It’s understandable to reuse some of them (as they already do) on similar platforms because the roster is pretty big. But Battlefield is no novice when it comes to animating a large batch of weapons, which makes this feel even stranger. Idk.

Reload animations are not fluid with movements that feel several stages. Pull out the magazine...insert the magazine...and then.......pull the charging handle.
But it's too great to be able to play with modern graphics with the atmosphere at that time!
i dont think u wanna pull the charging handle back if u have chambered a round before reloading
Right? they have an awkward stop in the process that makes it look like they forgot what they were doing
The animations are pretty rough, incorrect sounds for the guns (BF4 G18 reload sounds on the 93R?) kinda feels like a last minute addition by management or the publisher.

Dumbasses recycled many of the 2042 animations bruh

one thing that pisses me off is that every AR-15 platform weapon SHARES, SAME, ANIMATION AS A MCX SPEAR (M5A3, AN AR-15 PLATFORM GUN)
@@BleedingUranium *y i k e s* , somtimes DICE can be real lazy
The base game also has jank animations, and Dice LA is not some indie studio, poor excuse
well looks like the devs in portal mode are gonna be DICES next dev team because 2042 is SHIT.

I love Battlefield. Always have for years until they started going back to WW1.
But something feels off about these animations...
I cannot wait to get my hands on 2042 because of all the modern firearms. However; here's something I have noticed about these reloads:
Some pros:
AR platforms like the M416 and M16A3 have some attention to detail that are very noticeable (but hardly any sound indication).
M416 and M16A3 have those "details" because the animations are M5A3 animations recycled from the base game. Bruh
I personally started with ww1 and adored it, it was fun, felt balanced, and was enjoyable. My main problem with BF4 was the balance between foot soldier and a jet,
Main problem aith 2042 is the fact my pc that can run games on high with a stable framerate cant run this on low.
The infamous revolver animation

How did they get it SO wrong, why is the mag dropping and being inserted LOUDER than him dropping the slide?
The reload animations are like they wanna be arma 3 with squad grahpics ngl .
Idk.
Portal mode was made by a different team separate of the main game. Probably explains the lower quality which is disappointing
the pp 2000 empty reload animations seriously looks like a student first project
yet this is a triple A release
The gun sounds are bad and the character holds the gun so weird at times
10:21 that is so immersive
