Yes ! I remember how I changed my pc just for this game!! Had amd 5970 2Gb , runned at Ultra 60fps+ but MSAA x4 would cause stutters, so only MSAA x2 was smooth .. ( needed 3Gb vram) . Upgraded to AMD MSI lightning 7970 3Gb , runned at 70-80fps. Then added 2nd 7970 MSI … then 3rd and 4th for 4K. Bf3 is so advanced. But right now with my RTX 3070 I run 200fps haha, it’s locked at 200 fps so I guess it goes maybe a lot more with modern GPU
@@Pentax67 you can remove the limit and set it as you like, personally on BF3/4 I put 500 fps with a 8700k (delid 5.3ghz) and a gtx 1080 ti in 1080p at minimum I was doing 450/500, now with a 5800x and a 3080ti in 1440p at minimum I go to 500 but on BF2077 I go to 160 fps with everything at a minimum in 1440p

The original has dust, flag blowing, leaves flying off and trees swaying to make the map feel a bit more realistic. The trees are completely static in the new game, no leaves floating around. Theres a small bit of dust and the flag flaps a little but BF3 definitely nailed it
Battlefield 2042 is like modern game on low graphics settings. Battlefield 3 was way ahead of its time. That atmosphere you couldnt compare with nothing before.
I still play it on Zlo, you can't compare it has the best gameplay, the sounds are incredible it just needs more punch or bass so I increased the gain in 60hz in the eq and 15khz for more crispy or clear sound and with the fov at 110 and it's a wonderful experience, I have more 700 hours of gameplay

It's not high contrast, the shadows have crushed look because of the lack of indirect lighting imitation, primitive shadowing techniques and heavy color grading. The new game looks more physically correct, maybe the color grading is slightly different.

It's not a "blue tint", its the imitation of indirect lighting in 2042, it's the way it should be. Go outside during a clear weather (for a change), look at teh shadows - they will have a blue tint, look at the quality paintings of the old masters - shadows in them wont be "black".
It seems that the turnover at DICE is a massive problem since Frostbite is allegedly a hard platform to use for new hires (according to Bioware). A bunch of the core devs left after BFV.
They really need a massive overhaul to their engine because if they don't EA is gonna lose a lot more money to train new devs and releasing an even buggier future games when their ambition getting out of the roof again.
I feel like they sacrifice a little bit the graphics for the 128 player count, is very noticeable when comparing it to bf1 and 5, the effects, the destruction and the overall gameplay, it feels like a step back But I don't want people saying that bf3 looks better than 2042, it's an upgrade in almost every aspect
I find it has a different style. Battlefield 2042 is a bit saturated, but battlefield 1 and V were insanely saturated. I’m not sure which one I like, cause one makes the colours pop, and the other is sort of bland.
BF3 is better because of lighting. It cleverly uses simple dark and light contrasts to show depth and realism, even though the graphics are limited. Where I find BF2042 by default the graphics are awesome but the lighting is flat and lack of depth. You should try another comparison but modify the BF2042 brightness, contrast , and colour to match BF3. Bet you it will look better
I really like bf3's lighting too, always thought bf4 was a massive downgrade in that sense, bf1 and bf5 were not much better. Honestly I was so dissapointed when bf4 came out, even though the detail were better, something about the lighting just didnt feel right to me. However its also very much a personal thing, many people disagreed with me heavily. BF2042 went back to the more cold blueish bf3 lighting a little instead of the warm orange, which I really like but the colors seem a bit oversaturated sometimes, the green is too green. Its honestly a little too pretty to be realistic, well in my opinion.

as i said in many other videos, BF2042's lawn is very clean, free of small stones and dirt and weeds, like a golf course, the grass grows very evenly, no wildflowers and weeds, tall grass and low grass. , BF2042's lawn looks like it has just been trimmed and watered, the soil is also too clean without the patchy color patches formed by moss like BF3, which makes the environment of BF2042 look a bit unnatural
This is sort of it, bf2042 looks great, but a bit too great, its perfect but that makes it feel less gritty and dirty at time. Though to me the main issue is that the green are a bit oversaturated, it kind of feels like the trees are straight out of a fairytale sometimes.

Lol other than graphics bf2042 is dogshit compared to bf3. Bf3 miles better maps, miles better game modes, miles better gameplays, miles better squad system and classes, miles more fun, miles better gunplay mechanics, miles better just about everything. Ten times more fun to play and still can give modern games run for their money in terms of graphics after ten years. Sure its outdated to modern standards, but still great looking game and a hell of a fun to play. Bf 2042 is utter rubbish. Asked for refund after few hours of play. Best way to create game with small amount of bugs its work single mechanic at the time and working on it as long as it needed to get this to work without issues. Battlefield are not something completly new and they have expirience from previous games so there are no excuse for it. They asking 70 $ for this game so its need to be completed at release ... Because of people like you they are making games like this because they know people will buy it anyway.
Maybe it's just me but after 10(!) years I can't see an awful lot of improvements. Battlefield 3 hold up well despite the obviously higher poly count in 2042 that means that the developers didn't really care about actual development.
Grass physics and water reflections seem to be better in 2042. Other than that almost everything actually looks nicer in bf3 imo. The detail of the ground,the way the skies look,the big chuncks of rubble falling during destruction(as opose to a building's wall magicly disapearing without a trace in a puff of smoke),bf3's visuals overall have a much more gritty,realism,polished kind of feel to them,where as 2042 is a bit more colorfull and kid friendly. It's funny,comparing how bf3 look compared to how shooter games looked in 2001 and than comparing how bf3 looks compared to modern games in 2021 :)
@@AuramiteEX The forced TAA absolutely butchers the image quality in 2042. If anything, the compression does it justice pretty well since it hides the nasty artifacts.
And it's actually not just the graphics. BF3 FEELS like a much better game to play, it's just vastly superior. Every time I forced myself to play 2042 I realized how good BF3 actually is. Which is why it's still the main FPS game I play after almost 10 years. It's just better than anything else that came after it.
Well BF3 wins in almost all the comparisons, they launched BF 2042 so soon, there are a lot of details like the movement of the trees, leaves and smoke with the wind, etc. BF3 has a lots of details that together make a huge difference. When I played BF 2042 I was like "its ok but it is missing something" that kind of details make the game more inmersive. BFV looks so much better than 2042 I always use my Bayerdynamic 990 pro 250 ohms and belive me, BFV sounds and feel amazing.

As a massive BF3 fan, honestly they did great with the maps, destruction/details are all revamped and fit very well. If only the gameplay was as good, the jeeps for instance are so painful to drive in BF 2042. And let's not get into gunplay/animations, god what have they done.
It is incredible how BF 2042 looks like it came out just a few years after BF3 in terms of visual quality. No one would even imagine that they are 10 years apart. DICE has really grown complacent thou... not only in graphics but realism. I remember that since the first BF DICE always tried to make each next release more realistic and with more features, specially features that favored teamplay. But for the last 5 years all that DICE has done is copying other franchises and forgetting their roots, motto and original goals! Money and success can really corrupt and destroy passion I guess.
the sound is so inmersive in bf3, the eco of the explosions and shots, the enviroment sound like you could hear the water of the river moving, the shadows, and the wind effect on trees... vegetation.. BF2042 looks just so flat with the sonds and phisics !! takes a lot of inmersion away... and they take less time to make this games, but charge us MORE everytime...its not about the game anymore but about the MONEY
Bf3 is actually the only multiplayer fps I play with counterstrike since 2011. I thought I was crazy to still play on close quarters map 10 years later but thx for this demonstration. BF3 is still to this day one of the (if not the) greatest multiplayer fps game.
It’s crazy to think battlefield 3 is like 10 years older but looks better in some shots. It’s like the old Dice team left and got their interns to make bf2042.
BF3 seems to look better in most scenes. The lighting and the overall detail is amazing! The clouds still have shadows on the ground. There’s dandelions and other flowers and stuff when you crawl on the ground, the environment reacts to the wind and grenades and stuff, (trees swaying and dust) there’s contrast, it’s just amazing. 2042 has slightly higher-poly models and better detail in the foliage in the trees, but I honestly don’t think it looks better. The lack of detail and flat shading isn’t great. The fact that BF3 looks better in most aspects while still being able to run great on nearly anything makes me question what they’re doing. No, I’m not “hung up on nostalgia”. I’m more of a call of duty guy. I think BF3 quite literally looks better than the new game. 😂😂

BF3 is fun, but the suppression is just ridiculous, when fully suppressed you're nearly blind the your gun is so inaccurate the rounds barely go the same direction you aimed
It is crazy how well BF3 holds up. If you compare BF3 (2011) to 2042 (2021) there is a difference but it isn't noticeable at a glance. Then you compare BF3 to BF2 and the difference is extremely obvious. And they are only 6 years apart. If you compare BF3 to BF 1942 (2002 - 9 years apart) the difference is even more extreme. Bad Company 1 and 2 also hold up reasonably well too. They really turned a corner with the Frostbite engine.
Considering it's 2021 BF2042 looks like a mobile game . A massive downgrade in visuals and effects from previous titles, it's not even debatable . The "improvement" in 10 years is basically unnoticeable. 2042 has this terrible hazey/blurry/ washed out look which takes away from immersion so much!

Cuz the reload is realistic. It opens the bullet cylinder, takes out the unspent bullets, then the spent bullets, and finally the player inserts new bullets. Pretty cool cuz it's 3 stages, while other games got only 2

You'd be wrong 2042 takes most of its sound from BFV and BFV had one of the most comprehensive sound projects of any game you can think of As in they recorded real gunfire and real explosives both at different ranges, and in different environments for a comprehensive and realistic sound base The BF3 sound effects are unrealistic like CoD sound effects. Simulated gunfire and audio trickery, sounds more like an old movie than a battle Besides, what portal sounds they haven't found a better sound effect for theyve kept the old ones - so no i really don't see why or how you could think BF3 original sounds better than 2042 It's worth pointing out that the 2042 audio is broken along with a few other things right now

I also hate how they’ve replaced even the Arabic writing on the transport containers with English words, it’s small details like that which really take away from the immersion. Not to mention hearing women screaming left right and center but I guess the community is used to that by now :/
One thing i love about the remade maps is that their color palette is mostly close to the originals, instead of a grittier tone of BF4. They even went as far as recreating the sun flare
I mean... Caspian in BF4 was in a different season! And BF3 had the huge blue filter lol... Which thankfully they took out from Portal! But yeah! it looks great

I know this is a tiny detail compared to the rest of it and not actually that important, but I really appreciated the tactical shotgun reloads in BF3. I remember seeing a competition shooter emptying the tube, then rapidly firing off a couple of single rounds by loading them through the ejection port like that... then a few months later seeing that in BF3 blew my mind and made me appreciate that they had some gun nerds there for a while who enjoyed putting in those kinds of things.

PC still has a decent amount of players, but good luck playing any game mode other than conquest large or rush. DLC content is kind of dead too but some servers run DLC maps. Premium is usually bundled with the game now adays so they aren't completely dead.

Just watch at 5:06 how 2042 despite having a graphical boost, is lifeless. BF3 had those flying leaves, the wind, the dust, trees moving, this is the feeling of Life you miss when you play 2042.
The remakes of the old maps doesn't had so much going on like the new ones with alot of dynamic weather and stuff going on. I like both for what they are with the good and bad.. I have a problem with the buggs in the last bf and I dont mean insects😊.
I haven't played either of them but I like how picturesque BF3 is in comparison to BF2042, look at 4:55 for comparison. The distant mountain ranges look really cool.
Everyone says how advanced BF3 was, but no one realize that bf2042 didn't do anything to get better. Tech improved over the years but most games don't. Direction nowdays suck, now we get worse than mediocre games that can't even be compared to their older iterations. We are in the best and worse moment of videogames history.

Even the trees reached to wind and rotor wash from the aircraft. 2042 is the biggest let down in gaming in a long time and the whole battlefield community agrees. I’m not just some player ranting. I rank #11 in the United States for attack helicopter in battlefield 4 with over 4000 hours of play time. A simple remaster of 3 or 4 would have been better than 2042 in every way possible.

Bf3 was the crisis 1 of 2011, a huge upgrade in game engine made it possible. Its the sort of leap in graphics we will likely not see much of again.

It seems that the turnover at DICE is a massive problem since Frostbite is allegedly a hard platform to use for new hires (according to Bioware). A bunch of the core devs left after BFV.
the new hires probably spent two years just learning it.
They really need a massive overhaul to their engine because if they don't EA is gonna lose a lot more money to train new devs and releasing an even buggier future games when their ambition getting out of the roof again.
I'm guess they left after bf4 because bf1 bf5 bf2042 are all downgrades especially soldier movement

I find it has a different style. Battlefield 2042 is a bit saturated, but battlefield 1 and V were insanely saturated. I’m not sure which one I like, cause one makes the colours pop, and the other is sort of bland.

BF3 is better because of lighting. It cleverly uses simple dark and light contrasts to show depth and realism, even though the graphics are limited. Where I find BF2042 by default the graphics are awesome but the lighting is flat and lack of depth. You should try another comparison but modify the BF2042 brightness, contrast , and colour to match BF3. Bet you it will look better
I really like bf3's lighting too, always thought bf4 was a massive downgrade in that sense, bf1 and bf5 were not much better. Honestly I was so dissapointed when bf4 came out, even though the detail were better, something about the lighting just didnt feel right to me. However its also very much a personal thing, many people disagreed with me heavily.
BF2042 went back to the more cold blueish bf3 lighting a little instead of the warm orange, which I really like but the colors seem a bit oversaturated sometimes, the green is too green. Its honestly a little too pretty to be realistic, well in my opinion.

as i said in many other videos, BF2042's lawn is very clean, free of small stones and dirt and weeds, like a golf course, the grass grows very evenly, no wildflowers and weeds, tall grass and low grass. , BF2042's lawn looks like it has just been trimmed and watered, the soil is also too clean without the patchy color patches formed by moss like BF3, which makes the environment of BF2042 look a bit unnatural
I totally agree with you. The lack of variety in ground vegetation and dirt/rocks is very obvious when you compare the two games side by side.
This is sort of it, bf2042 looks great, but a bit too great, its perfect but that makes it feel less gritty and dirty at time. Though to me the main issue is that the green are a bit oversaturated, it kind of feels like the trees are straight out of a fairytale sometimes.

You think so because you don't understant graphics well enough, the new game looks more correct, with better texturing and lighting. Everything about lightplay in the old one is laughably wrong now that you can compare the fidelity with modern games.

Maybe it's just me but after 10(!) years I can't see an awful lot of improvements. Battlefield 3 hold up well despite the obviously higher poly count in 2042 that means that the developers didn't really care about actual development.
Coming from BFBC2 to BF3 truly felt like next gen update back then. BF3 still is the king. Also tank reloading and pistol shots are better too🕵️♂️
Grass physics and water reflections seem to be better in 2042.
Other than that almost everything actually looks nicer in bf3 imo.
The detail of the ground,the way the skies look,the big chuncks of rubble falling during destruction(as opose to a building's wall magicly disapearing without a trace in a puff of smoke),bf3's visuals overall have a much more gritty,realism,polished kind of feel to them,where as 2042 is a bit more colorfull and kid friendly.
It's funny,comparing how bf3 look compared to how shooter games looked in 2001 and than comparing how bf3 looks compared to modern games in 2021 :)

So much colors kinda screw up war games, real war is not colorfull, it always been a cloudy, gray, dirty, unfriendly atmosphere.
Over 10 yrs old game can be compared with the new one. What a masterpiece! It was still hyped a year after it was released. Maybe more.
This compressed video doesn't do either game justice. In 4k, 60fps uncompressed the new game looks incredible

And it's actually not just the graphics. BF3 FEELS like a much better game to play, it's just vastly superior. Every time I forced myself to play 2042 I realized how good BF3 actually is. Which is why it's still the main FPS game I play after almost 10 years. It's just better than anything else that came after it.

BF 2042 so soon, there are a lot of details like the movement of the trees, leaves and smoke with the wind, etc. BF3 has a lots of details that together make a huge difference. When I played BF 2042 I was like "its ok but it is missing something" that kind of details make the game more inmersive. BFV looks so much better than 2042 I always use my Bayerdynamic 990 pro 250 ohms and belive me, BFV sounds and feel amazing.

Hate how bf2042 UI ruins all the remade content. Especially crappy when playing bf 1942 with future turquoise HUD.
As a massive BF3 fan, honestly they did great with the maps, destruction/details are all revamped and fit very well.
If only the gameplay was as good, the jeeps for instance are so painful to drive in BF 2042. And let's not get into gunplay/animations, god what have they done.
Bf3 graphics were insane for its time. I remember being blown away.
It is incredible how BF 2042 looks like it came out just a few years after BF3 in terms of visual quality. No one would even imagine that they are 10 years apart. DICE has really grown complacent thou... not only in graphics but realism. I remember that since the first BF DICE always tried to make each next release more realistic and with more features, specially features that favored teamplay. But for the last 5 years all that DICE has done is copying other franchises and forgetting their roots, motto and original goals! Money and success can really corrupt and destroy passion I guess.
the sound is so inmersive in bf3, the eco of the explosions and shots, the enviroment sound like you could hear the water of the river moving, the shadows, and the wind effect on trees... vegetation.. BF2042 looks just so flat with the sonds and phisics !! takes a lot of inmersion away...
and they take less time to make this games, but charge us MORE everytime...its not about the game anymore but about the MONEY
Bf3 is actually the only multiplayer fps I play with counterstrike since 2011. I thought I was crazy to still play on close quarters map 10 years later but thx for this demonstration. BF3 is still to this day one of the (if not the) greatest multiplayer fps game.

The biggest thing that stands out to me is the way BF3 has waaay better wind mechanics in the environment. Look at the trees swaying in high wind.
BF3 was crafter with passion and love, BF 21-42FPS on the other hand was crafted with greed an deception in mind...

It’s crazy to think battlefield 3 is like 10 years older but looks better in some shots. It’s like the old Dice team left and got their interns to make bf2042.
BF3 seems to look better in most scenes. The lighting and the overall detail is amazing! The clouds still have shadows on the ground. There’s dandelions and other flowers and stuff when you crawl on the ground, the environment reacts to the wind and grenades and stuff, (trees swaying and dust) there’s contrast, it’s just amazing. 2042 has slightly higher-poly models and better detail in the foliage in the trees, but I honestly don’t think it looks better. The lack of detail and flat shading isn’t great. The fact that BF3 looks better in most aspects while still being able to run great on nearly anything makes me question what they’re doing. No, I’m not “hung up on nostalgia”. I’m more of a call of duty guy. I think BF3 quite literally looks better than the new game. 😂😂

2042 obviously has better models, meshes, and textures, but BF3 is definitely easily holding its own for a 10 yr old game. It's quite impressive.

It is crazy how well BF3 holds up. If you compare BF3 (2011) to 2042 (2021) there is a difference but it isn't noticeable at a glance. Then you compare BF3 to BF2 and the difference is extremely obvious. And they are only 6 years apart. If you compare BF3 to BF 1942 (2002 - 9 years apart) the difference is even more extreme. Bad Company 1 and 2 also hold up reasonably well too. They really turned a corner with the Frostbite engine.

Considering it's 2021 BF2042 looks like a mobile game . A massive downgrade in visuals and effects from previous titles, it's not even debatable . The "improvement" in 10 years is basically unnoticeable. 2042 has this terrible hazey/blurry/ washed out look which takes away from immersion so much!

Cuz the reload is realistic. It opens the bullet cylinder, takes out the unspent bullets, then the spent bullets, and finally the player inserts new bullets. Pretty cool cuz it's 3 stages, while other games got only 2

2042 takes most of its sound from BFV and BFV had one of the most comprehensive sound projects of any game you can think of
As in they recorded real gunfire and real explosives both at different ranges, and in different environments for a comprehensive and realistic sound base
The BF3 sound effects are unrealistic like CoD sound effects. Simulated gunfire and audio trickery, sounds more like an old movie than a battle
Besides, what portal sounds they haven't found a better sound effect for theyve kept the old ones - so no i really don't see why or how you could think BF3 original sounds better than 2042
It's worth pointing out that the 2042 audio is broken along with a few other things right now

I also hate how they’ve replaced even the Arabic writing on the transport containers with English words, it’s small details like that which really take away from the immersion. Not to mention hearing women screaming left right and center but I guess the community is used to that by now :/
One thing i love about the remade maps is that their color palette is mostly close to the originals, instead of a grittier tone of BF4. They even went as far as recreating the sun flare
I mean... Caspian in BF4 was in a different season! And BF3 had the huge blue filter lol... Which thankfully they took out from Portal! But yeah! it looks great

BF3 has more texture especially for the trees, river and the rocky road.
I know this is a tiny detail compared to the rest of it and not actually that important, but I really appreciated the tactical shotgun reloads in BF3. I remember seeing a competition shooter emptying the tube, then rapidly firing off a couple of single rounds by loading them through the ejection port like that... then a few months later seeing that in BF3 blew my mind and made me appreciate that they had some gun nerds there for a while who enjoyed putting in those kinds of things.

Kinda odd seeing a Army Helicopter when your team is suppose to be Marines. Plus Viper has a way better field of view.

Destruction in BFBC2 was something else. I loved BF3 but when I played it a decade ago, I always wished we had BFBC2 level destruction in the game.

BC2 very low population on xbox and as for BF3 its dead. Shame cause the maps are so fucking good. Better than the shit thats been coming out since 4.
PC still has a decent amount of players, but good luck playing any game mode other than conquest large or rush. DLC content is kind of dead too but some servers run DLC maps. Premium is usually bundled with the game now adays so they aren't completely dead.

The remakes of the old maps doesn't had so much going on like the new ones with alot of dynamic weather and stuff going on. I like both for what they are with the good and bad.. I have a problem with the buggs in the last bf and I dont mean insects😊.

Even the trees reached to wind and rotor wash from the aircraft. 2042 is the biggest let down in gaming in a long time and the whole battlefield community agrees. I’m not just some player ranting. I rank #11 in the United States for attack helicopter in battlefield 4 with over 4000 hours of play time. A simple remaster of 3 or 4 would have been better than 2042 in every way possible.

DICE and EA should be ashamed of themselves. The new BF game is not what I was expecting. BF3 is graphically on point and still holds for it's age.
