A little advice. Always paint from top down not sides. You can bump the paint reaching over. Also. Paint the whole panel front to back. Don't short stroke or stop in middle. Nice car

Back in the mid 80's, I was stationed in West Germany courtesy of the U.S. Army. Painted several cars with Rust-Oleum cans. Most cars took 12 cans. No turbo cans back then. Tip... always start with the roof. Long, smooth strokes and push the paint forward. Next trunk, then hood. Long, smooth strokes. The hits the sides starting again at top edge and work towards the bottom. Your paint job looks great! No hater here. For not a bunch of $$$ you can get a pretty decent paint job. Remember, prep is everything.

Both tops, wonder bar, four-speed, electric windows, tachometer. White with red interior.

It was lime green when I bought it, except for the white drivers door and trunk lid. Scuffed the whole car a little and sprayed all of it with cheap spray can dark grey primer from Howard Brothers Discount Center. Chrome reverse wheels and white lettered tires. I was 16, paid for everything related to that car including the insurance. My folks had zero dollars invested in it and didn't give me a hard time when I broke it. I just rode me bicycle back and forth to my part time job until I could fix it. Times were good!

I tip my hat off to you young man. I painted my first car when I was 18 years old in 1968 in the outdoors using a Craftsman oil-less compressor. I used lacquer which dried fast and then I rubbed out the paint. The paint job looked decent on my 1960 Plymouth. Fast forward to current times. I’m into old trucks, Studebakers specifically. You can’t paint outside anymore and the body shops want several thousand dollars for a paint job, a very bad investment for a Studebaker truck, you won’t get your money back when it comes time to sell. Plus, if you spend that kind of money on a paint job then you better make sure the body prep is perfect, which equates into more $$. On my current project truck I used Rustoleum satin spray paint. It is very forgiving and is easy to repair. The finished job looks very presentable.

My first paint job was rust, oleum regal red on a Toyota Land Cruiser, and it came out great you definitely have to do within your means and like everything else autobody supplies have gone through the roof . Like somebody else stated definitely start from the top down and go round the vehicle clockwise so you’ll never lose your place of where you’re spraying if you have to stop and a little 😊advice I could give you is it may be easier if you primed it first and sealed it off so it’s all one color you’ll use less pain and get better coverage. Nice job!! Now you got me thinking about really doing my 04. F 350 pick up, the cab.... Just peeling paint from this southern heat! No dings & dents to fix!
Looks like I can pull it off , how about when it comes to colors? Metallic Midnight Blue is what I got, the bed is actually great, I could get away with just the cab if I could get close enough to that color.Bought her new and I just want to keep her.
    Thanks!

I had a 1972 F-250 Camper Special that I painted with Rust oleum white enamel. I used a paint booth at the Air Base and it looked excellent when I finished. If it ever needed a touch up I just bought a spray can of the same paint.

Looks good. You’ll have to do an update video in the future and let us know how it’s holding up. My only worry would be the sun making it dull out without any clear coat on there. Nevertheless though you did a good job. Respect.

For future car painting, let your spray cans sit in a bucket of warm water. It helps thin out paint as it is sprayed. Do your C10!!!!!

My son-in-law and I painted my 1988 Toyota pick up approximately 10 or 12 years ago it’s all in preparation . Rust oleum is a very advanced paint company the variety of their products are astounding High quality products. My old truck now still looks decent never in garage . Still daily driving in this old 2.4

Those Fisher Body Impalas had great lines. Nice job! One of the previous owners of my '70 El Camino used Rustoleum white on the repaint. Heavy pigment color and one of the purest whites I have seen. I got a great shine after a mild cut and buff.👍👍

I used to paint my cars of those years by hand. I'd clean them, primer them, spray paint them, maybe 2 coats, then I would spray them with a clear coat sealer, maybe 2 coats, then I would wax them. Same with the tire rims.
