Nice paint job. One question. What is that at the end of the wooden mix stick that you used to mix the silver paint with? Is there a purpose for that? Just curious?
Man Gritt you just gave me a vision. My godmother has the same car sitting in the yard and I never thought about getting it and laying some paint down on that thang. We use to call it ugly when we were kids not knowing that thang was a sleeper!! You did that
Walking the whole side and drawing straight lines. Real talent. If you have never painted a car before. You will never understand the talent you are watching here.
33 yrs painter here, looks excellent with the room ur spraying, I recommend fans to get the overspray out , if u spray that good , imagine if u could actually see the panel without all the overspray when ur painting. Excellent job sir
I see so many ppl talking about how bad of a job this and that, safety gear this and that, I do agree with safety but why come in here and comment so negative, just drop some gems off on what he can do for safety and health, and better paint jobs, should be constructive criticism not destructive, and I looked at some of the really negative guys talking and they don't have not one post on their own page, come on ppl, help the dude out, guarantee he will listen to helpful advice giving as suggestions rather than bashing, matter of fact post some of your own projects on your page...
All the people leaving negative comments are just jealous haters bro. They probably drive some piece of crap bucket of bolts that doesn't even look 10% as good as this so they bash others to make themselves feel good. Just remember if you got hate on you for no reason you're doing good for yourself.😄
Until you open a door, hood or trunk and see the lines. Man I've seen much nicer jobs come out of a house garage, dont let the quality of the paint itself fool you on the low quality of the user. Also go back and watch as they pan across the body, things got waves like the Pacific.
Hey,I have been a pro bodyman and painter for 40+ yearand I gotta tell you that is the MOST BEAUTIFUL freakin paint job/color I have ever seen .much respect
No positive air ventilation all that overspray hanging in the air that car will have to be cut and buffed a shit ton of times. All the waves in the panels that can be seen in the lights in the walk around either show shitty body work or way to heavy with the clear. If you think this is the most beautiful id hate to see what you think is the worst. Plus what about no door jams no gaps no underside of hood or decklid. 😂😂
Retired 30 years in medical field, I've seen and performed thousands of MRI scans. You would not believe how many 50 year old black men were told they would never see their next birthday because they thought they were superman in their 20's and didn't use proper PPE. Just takes one mutated cell to replicate. It might take years, but it will happen. It's too late for the man in the video, but he could add years to his life if he started using PPE correctly today.
The guy has more talent in one finger than all the haters on here have living in this guys shadow. They need to pick up their purple Harbor Freight guns and " Get out there and paint some shit" as "The Gunman" says.
I am not a fan of the outrageous paint jobs. This is more to my style and it is absolutely Stunning!!! You showed just how talented you are as a painter who can do it all. My hat is off to you sir.
We all have different techniques! Myself I like the first coat to be a dusting. For bonding my following coats better! But this guys results look great, bet it’s even better outside! Every painter knows to show them outside’ lights show everything! Knowing your area is a must! I can lay down beautiful clean paint in Indiana, spray in mourning! With dew in mourning,no dust in air, bugs aren’t out until? 9-10 in mourning. So here,be spraying by 7,and wet the floor a little! Sprayed in Arizona, didn’t turn out as good! Guy was afraid of overspray in his garage, too many fans dryed paint out too fast! So I’d rather have overspray, last coat I’d give it a few extra minutes and reduce more to melt that last coat! Just suggestions, nice looking car!
I GOT hooked to the end when i seen your walking the length of the car and overlap and paint gun speed, you are a real master, take a bow, that car is worthy of cutting and buffing
Brilliant job, Get a kick ass fan, get/make a duct for it, at back of booth duct the dirty air thru a huge p-trap, make it yourself out of 6 or 8 inch pvc thick wall pipes, with a inspection hatch, put water and some dishwasher liquid, soapy is better to draw the excess overspray from the bubbles and periodic replacement of the dirty water. This saves using rock wool or fibreglass clouds to clean the dirty air. The front door will get 2 2foot by 2 foot holes, a steel or aluminium frame wire mesh, a couple of rods to keep the filter material rigid, think of that paper that car air filters are made of, or perhaps sponges, but definitely keep insects and dust out. EVERY SINGLE gap in your booth must be sealed air tight, I even use metal shelves and framing to hang a suspended ceiling from rafters, plus silicone to seal the roof. Lighting needs glass covers so that the overspray can be scraped off periodically with a razor sharp blade, plastic covers suck. Lots and lots of fluorescent lights or leds on every wall and ceiling. The ultimate luxury is a very thin puddle covering the entire floor, just don't splash around when you spray. Then you need rugby boots or Japanese wood sandals. People would mock you initially and afterwards they would all start doing it !
I agree he would benefit if he had proper ventilation not only for his health but his artwork in my opinion this man was born with a gift I would hire him in a minute!
So all the haters in the comments know nothing about spraying in a barn/garage. My man did it great, the only thing i would have done differently is wet the floor down about an hour before spraying so the dust stays down. Other than that hes fine. Hes got a mask on, you don't want hella fans kicking up more dust. Hes got an exhaust fan going, this guy will prob outlive 1/2 the haters and he will be crusing in 72 grabber style. 😜
absolutely beautiful sir. I learned a lot just watchin you work. Quality paint and equipment helps but the workmanship, knowledge and care were amazing.
Bro is hammering on the clear! That color is unreal, like from another planet. Jaw dropping, beautiful. Maybe an air fed full face mask, before you start having issues would be a thing. If you're shooting anything that's "2K" you need better air - it works like lead poisoning, where at first it's all cool, but the exposure is adding up every time, and it doesn't go away, until one day bam! You got issues. I'd hate to see anything get in the way of that talent, your work is smooth.
2k here in the UK is now apparently all water based now. Not sure what it is in the US. Its about 1/2 as durable too. It syill contains isocyanes though so still need proper masks but its solvent free.
Great job!👍 Back in the 70’s I would have never imagined a Maverick being worth all this effort! They weren’t a bad looking car, cheap though and disposable like the Pinto. Funny how they look better now than they did back then when these cars were new sitting on the Ford dealers lot.
Beautiful work Brother. Look after your body and brain. I sprayed for 20 years and after cleaning my gun out one day I felt something going up my optic nerve and into my brain. After that I had a 5 second memory and had to write down my conversations so I could remember what I was talking about. Thinners melts paint and also brain cells. Take care and look after yourself. Wear a suit and invest in a stellar extractor fan. 😇
I keep painting at home with 2k and hardly ever wear a mask, lately iv been out of breath n getting worried, I know it's a bit late but iv brought a decent mask, why do we take chances with health, nice job, looks great
@montyklaus7223 professional spraypainters don't spray chemicals with shorts on,there's a reason why spraypainters wear tyvek suits, gloves along with respirators. People forget skin is the largest organ in the human body,it is like a sponge when it comes to substances.
You are extremely talented. I have an Old 74 Cutlass Oldsmobile that I want to fix up and paint, but i don't know if I can do it from a wheelchair. What do you think?
Great finish on the car. But for his health a water slide filter would be a good idea. Don't want to damage his lungs 🫁 for his art. Love the colours and glaze.
True Gritt, your paint skills are great. If you need paint suits, masks, paint materials, ventilation, let me know as my friend owns S.P.I. coatings and other Vets in business. Wet your floor as a suggestion to inhibit dust particles. I am in Atlanta and willing to lend a hand. C.J. w/ A.R.T. Atlanta.
Love it! I had a 64 1/2, stepdad sent off in '79 to be dipped...had baked on metallic red paint! This reminded me! I love the color and excellent work!
Let’s get it Cattt!! 😂 🙌🏽 Top level painter on the grind right here! Much respect bro, keep spraying them bangers! 🎨 Might be my fav youve painted that I’ve seen so far 👍🏽

Dont yank the air hose around the car it kicks up dust. Tack rag the paper too, not just the car. Bit better intake filters for the paint barn/booth.😅 let off gun trigger before stopping the arm swing/movements and move before pulling it again. Waste way less & wont have heavy spots where u stop, & go opposite direction..😊 Dude u must be 6'8" made that Maverick look like a scale car😅😂😂 Sus owned a 72 grabber in red/black. 302 was specially ordered to be a factory drag car. Racer decided to take a 6 cylinder off lot & build it himself as it was taking too long to get. Was odered factory installed 302 Boss 😮😮😮 9" rearend. She took many trophies with it in 1/4 mile !
Gotta get some proper PPE brother, the solvents in paint will leech through your skin and eventually cause nerve damage. Damn good job on this paint job.
*Awesome job, you deserve more ventilation please upgrade you gotta get more exhaust, it’s really dangerous and I’m just saying from my experience, and hence why these paint jobs aren’t couple hundred dollars, painting is a serious thing* 👍🏼👍🏼
You need more ventilation in that booth, you should be wearing a white suit and some latex paint gloves and a head sock,,,, I know you got alot of paint, primer all over your body and hair , face! I painted for 25 years, I hate getting paint on me like that, takes thinner to get that much paint off your arms, hands face!
It's not that serious I'm sure he's not doing this every day he will be fine and as for the spray booth another fan would be good but bravo on the makeshift spray booth I love me a backyard boogie shop 🔥
Looks wicked!! My uncle sold my mom a maverick when I was a little runt.. it broke down and sat for a while before it went to scrap. Sad. It was navy blue.. ida liked the blue undertone like that. That’s an eye catching colour. Good job 👍🏻 Take my money!
Don't need an expensive paint booth but you need down draft to side draft ventilation. You can create that environment yourself with a little effort. You can see fisheyes in the paint. Why? Because theirs too much crap floating in the air. Booth is too dirty. The area you paint in needs to be like a surgical room. Floor should be wet to keep dust down when you walk. It's not expensive, it's just effort. & please, a positive pressure suit is a must for your health. Great color. Improving your spray environment will improve the outcome & you can charge more money. 👍👍
I would be dancing to if I could paint that good, but he was probably pretty high off of all the fumes could probably use a few more fans on that paint booth😅
You need to get your booth pressure dialed in your overspray is hanging in the air too long. Get yourself a monometer so you know what your cabin pressure is at all times .03 is optimum. Nice paint job !
Looks pretty good, but your technique needs some work. I would HIGHLY recommend not stopping, walk it all the way out, or you're likely to get "tiger stripes" where there is an excess of metalic or candy built up where you stop which looks like darker lines on the panel. I was always taught to do your jams first, ie: fenders, bumpers, light housings when you do them last you're introducing overspray on what you've already painted. Would also like to see some trigger control when you get to the end of a panel. No one does this on youtube and it drives me crazy!! Lack of trigger control can lead to clogs at the nozzel and make your pattern change while you're spraying, especially with clear or thicker paints, not much of a concern with candy however. I saw a pretty large amount of trash in the clear, just from the video, which is going to lead to more work wet sanding and buffing to get it out. Try wetting the floor, if not the whole "booth," before spraying to keep dust down. Lastly, if you plan on doing this long term, remember your skin is the largest organ of the body and is semi permeable, so if it's ON you, it's IN you. Protect yourself for the long term bro! Otherwise, great job, love the color
I think some of the people commenting on venting, and booths, seem to forget that's the way we rolled in the 70's and 80's and before. Painting Enamel in the driveway or garage. Do what you can with what you got. I've done many a damn nice paint job in the garage. Sure it takes a little more to cut and buff.
Nice. You've got to work on your booth, though. It looks like you don't have enough air coming in, and your overspray is hanging. I'd cut a hole and put a fan in there that brought in clean air. Of course, filter it. You could probably get away with AC filters. Your jobs will come out better once you get that overspray outta there. I like that finish, though. Looks sick.
Yo yo yo bro, you picked a beautiful color for the car. It really makes it pop and it really compliments the design of the car. It made that car destined to be that color. Well done, well done. I love it.
I absolutely Love the 72 Maverick... I'm not a Ford guy at all but that Maverick when built right is just Sexy as Hell... drop a little 302 in it and it's about the most fun you can have in a daily driver... Good looks with the Balls to back it up.. Great affordable little Hot Rod with lots of options for suspension.
In fear of electrical plugs, lights, breathing in heavy fumes.i know this too many years. Fire & explosion proof a must. The fan is more need speed.your paintjob is good i worried of too close painting & metallic issues plus runs or sags. If you got good heat from the sun you're fine never use fast dry.i been there. These fumes are dangerous and tiny bugs will always faint to land on the car.tweezer stuff. You need serious small circulation 2 inch with filter to keep bugs out opening somewhere back of the car area. Too much to tell you.Good luck.i am already 20 to one worker.
You got to have somewhere for fresh filtered air to come back in the shop or that cloud can't get out. The cloud cause paint issues and breathing issues and needs to get out and that fan can't do it without somewhere for fresh air to come in and road it.

So close to our 73 XB Falcon over here in Australia. The original mad max car. Sick paint man

Pro tip, you should wet the floor completely before you spray. It will limit the dust that can and will fly around as you spray.
Bro where u located?
Nice paint job. One question. What is that at the end of the wooden mix stick that you used to mix the silver paint with? Is there a purpose for that? Just curious?
I've been a painter for 34 years and I never comment on paint vids because they're always doing it wrong, but this guy knows his shit. Very nice job!!
Man Gritt you just gave me a vision. My godmother has the same car sitting in the yard and I never thought about getting it and laying some paint down on that thang. We use to call it ugly when we were kids not knowing that thang was a sleeper!! You did that

You can tell when folks have no idea WTF they're talkin about. That paint job ain't worth the price of the materials.

I always loved the under-rated mavericks. very nice work!

What an incredible shade of purple/red into dark crimson! 😗🔥
It's obviously homeboy hustles at home. What up with all the hatred man it looks good that clear really slams on nice

Someone get this man some PPE so hes not dead from cancer in 4 years.
Most beautiful job I've ever seen. You're a super gifted painter. Candy is difficult to shoot. A million things can go wrong. You're the man!!!
That liquid pistol got a switch on it 🎯🎯🎯🎯
We need to see it outside.
@TrueGrittCustoms Great Job, I Love that Color.
Absolutely stunning. You Sir are a talented painter. Great job!!!
Petition to get this man a better ventilation system god dam! 🙏 looks great though
I would be dancing to if I could paint that good, but he was probably pretty high off of all the fumes could probably use a few more fans on that paint booth😅
Oh My Goodness, that is one Nasteh paint job!! That color so deep you fall into and enter another deminsion.
You need to get your booth pressure dialed in your overspray is hanging in the air too long. Get yourself a monometer so you know what your cabin pressure is at all times .03 is optimum. Nice paint job !
For a shed respray you do some amazing work , a bit more filtration for your health wouldn't hurt
That color is flat awesome.... Great Job Man.... beautiful comin outta the fog....NICE!!!
Looks great I've been painting for 15 years just like you no fancy booth
Purple passion dragon fruit🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lol you was the only person to get the color right
@@MyBlack101 it reminds me of a Starbucks drink
Damn that colour is topnotch❤
Wow I never thought anyone could make a ford maverick look like a real car..amazing paint job!!!!
Looks sick.
That's got to be the soundtrack to my worst nightmare
Yo yo yo bro, you picked a beautiful color for the car. It really makes it pop and it really compliments the design of the car. It made that car destined to be that color. Well done, well done. I love it.
that's a sweet paint job
holy fisheyes and dirt in that paint!
Yeah , if you can spot that many in a video just imagine how bad it is in person, lol. If he can cut/buff it should turn out decent though.
@@rydfree Не думаю что этот парень что-то видел в момент покраски.😂
Oh man you just took me back to childhood brother watching my dad paint cars. Looks beeeeeaaaautiful love that color.
Video orchestration composition concept is just as smooth as the operator. Beautiful job man.
