7:10 It's called a Carnet de Passages en Douane or just Carnet or CPD, and it is basically a security deposit, based on the value of your vehicle, that certain countries require you to have in order to enter. They can be quite expensive too. They're worried you're going to be selling the car and taking the money out of the country.

on the road costs are mainly fuel. Large costs are shipping, some visa (depending on nationality). If you slow down and stop at different locations then costs (as in fuel) drop dramatically. Thats based on mostly wild (free) camping and self cooking (local foods in markets, rice, chicken etc.)

7:45 Roman is right and I'm not sure if this guy doesn't know what he's talking about or is just skipping details. The area is called the Darién Gap and it's about 100 miles of thick jungle that would be completely impassible with that rig. The Panama Canal is not an issue; there are two bridges that go over the canal that you can drive on. He is right that the best way to get around the Darién Gap is on a ship, which there are several options.

Then, there's not much coverage on the Land Cruiser, the trailer, and how they prepared for the adventure.
