Here in Guyana, I know of an 80 series Land Cruiser owned by the Guyana Forestry Commission that has been running tough jungle roads every day for 25+ years. It has its original motor and doesn't even have a radiator fan and yet it still works. Absolutely beastly machines

I find it odd that a manual petrol barn doord 80 is such a novelty
That would be known locally as a poverty pack bar the flash rear air con

The front grille with the Toyota logo , and this dash style , started January 1995 .The 16" wheels , wider wheel arches and mud flaps , started August 1992 , together with the bigger brakes . Anyway , a beautiful 80 .

That Land cruiser 80 series was locally released here in the Philippines (LHD) in 1996-97 as a manual diesel only engine (1hdt). I think it has more grunt than the 1fz carb type engine. It has the same rear barn yard doors & dual a/c system. The only difference is that the front passenger seat here is a bench type seat & the 3rd row seats are also bench type with the passengers facing each other. It also has factory electronic locking diffs for the front & rear diffs as a standard & not an option from the factory. There are some few preserved surviving ones here but most probably the owners wouldn’t sell it.

These have really become a cult classic here in the UK, but they are in such rough shape compared to this. Similarly manuals are equally as rare regardless of the motor being petrol or diesel. If I was to be in a position to get a 90s SUV it would only ever be the series 80 Land Cruiser!
Also I never realised in these others places they etched the plate on the exterior, my E36 has all original etched glass but Europe didn’t do any other parts!

2 decade later in 2019, I bought 1999 LC100 series with leaking radiator and cooling water in oil however still managed to drive it for 5000km without any issue. Learning to solving the problem led me understand what needs to fix after buying 2nd car 100series.

Hey buddy nice video!!! But there are some mistakes when he is telling you about the year of the car, that dash is from 1995-1997, also the grill, they must have changed that because its a carb engine not the fuel injection, also when you were talking about the rear ac, it only blows cold air from a different evaporator and blower located in that corner, its a separate unit from the front one, you can have the front one on or the rear one on independently. Im telling you because I own a 1994 HZJ80 with dual ac.
